"медведь" / "Медве́дев" (Medved / Medvedev) means "bear" and is also a Slavic surname. Could appear as the case manufacturer's name while really being a reference to the bears on the chips.
"медвежья клетка" (medvezhya kletka) would mean "bear cage", also a good name for the case full of "bears".

As someone who worked in the casino as a dealer and from what I remember there would be some kind of stencil that would say, "(Name of Casino) Property". They would also mark the equipment, cards, dice, etc. as decommissioned when finished using or it became damaged. There was also a serial number carved or molded into the inside of the lid and bottom of the shelf. Hope this helps, have fun.

@@dragade101 i guess so. I got curious, so i started reading, and by 1990 they were already in many international playing card congresses (I believe they won a first place award in London in the 50s), and had already begun getting pretty big outside of Brazil. they also seemed to focus on sourcing for international casinos and clubs, since gambling was outlawed in Brazil in 1946. I have been collecting casino chips for a substantial chunk of my life...and of course not just "casino" chips. I have many "not so law abiding" (illegal/underground card room) chips, custom/one offs chips, manufacturers sample chips, Christy & Jones, Paulsons, Blue Chip Co., Bud Jones, BG, ASM, Matsui, Abbiati, Chip Co., Gemaco, etc......you name it, I've got it. What Adam Savage has for his home games and just the simplicity of having is down right .....Out of this World....surreal ....highly, highly respected in the chipping community . There are a multitude of sets trying to replicate KGB's chips and some are very well done. The ultimate maker of Adams set is the fact that just the bear is reversed ..... everything else is literally spot on, including most important part....the mold. When looked at up close, one can see the imprinted design going around the chip. That particular mold pattern has been since retired. This alone would make Adams set nearly as valuable as the chips made for the production -Rounders-. Remember the value that Adam says at the beginning on actual films produced chips.....I would say he's pretty darn close per chip in past sales on Ebay...perhaps even a little short depending on the denomination of chip. Adams chip set is 1,200 chips total with all of the denominations that KGB had .... Mind blowing up....Adam could probably sell his set for an average of $40-$50 per chip x 1,200= duuuuhhhhhhh uhhhh......now what y'all think of dem chippies. Hey Adam, thanks a trillion times x infinite thanks for sharing your insanely collectable and very beautiful chips with all of us. Cheers

As for the signing on the box you can go with «кто не рискует тот не пьет шампанское» which is a Russian proverb literally meaning the one who doesn’t take risks never drinks champagne” или « не везёт в любви» which is “bad luck in love” because there is another saying : “if you are not lucky with gambling you are lucky with love affairs” or «фартовый» which is jargon for “lucky one” (this one is probably less safe cause it’s prison related slang )

There is a lock on the hard shell carrying case, but the exposed hinges are attached with Phillips head screws - which are also exposed. A wrinkle in the box security, but let’s cut some slack, it’s only a prop; and I love the look of that Yale padlock! Adam, keep doing what you do!

Near impossible to make true clay chips like these ASM/CPC ones are. The composite mix is very complex and difficult to replicate. Plastic chips can be made as cheap as 30c a chip. These CPC's you can buy at about $2 or less a chip, though not in this exact mold which is known as the roman mold. The master stamp was lost a while back and the last stamp they made from it has worn out. the closest they have now is the CSQ mold. You can also make custom CPC's, I'm in the process of designing my own set of those at the moment. Those get expensive real quick.

    Hello from Russia!
    If you just need a Cyrillic letter numeral, 8 first Cyrillic letters are А Б В Г Д Е Ё Ж , but(!) "Ё" is almost always skipped in numeration (maybe it's to similar to E? IDK), so it will better to use А Б В Г Д Е Ж З.
If you wanna use the numbers in Russian, they should be:
    ОДИН (one)
    ДВА (two)
    ТРИ (three)
    ЧЕТЫРЕ (four)
    ПЯТЬ (five)
    ШЕСТЬ (six)
    СЕМЬ (seven)
    ВОСЕМЬ (eight)
    Good luck and happy Holydays!

    Native russiаn speaker here.
Yes, we categorize things with letters as well as numbers.
    Letter G is "Г". "Box G" - "Ящик Г".
Or you can use letters "Ё" (like e with umlauts). Or maybe "Д" if you like it more.
I think is is better to write "Не влезай, убьет" which literally translates as "do not enter, it will kill you"
You can find such a sign on substations and other high voltage electric equipment all around Russia. I think that is exactly what russian mobster would write on his box as joke or a as funny reminder to people not to touch it.
Another option is to write "'Книги" which translates as "Books". Since you don't want to write a name of a valuable thing on a box, better to use this simple disguise. So he can casually walk around with a case of books. Maybe that is how he passed the customs? No one checked the books case :)
    Regards Dmitry
