God, yes. I have the Amazon Japan 4K Edition with Steelbook, the Japanese 3 disc-digipack set, *and* a really well-made "bootleg" with Minus One and Minus Color (with English subtitles). Just waiting on that sweet, sweet authentic release. 🙏
I didn’t realize how expensive 4K movies was until I tried to buy gxk in 4K and it was $30. I can only imagine how expensive the import was to get the minus 1 Blue ray 4K
I couldn’t wait for the US release and also bought the box set but without minus gold figure. Funny enough, mine arrived 3 days before it streamed on Netflix. Rewatching the film in hdr 4k with Dolby atmos brought me to tears. I first saw minus one at the American premiere which was one of the best moments of my life. Was even lucky enough to get an autograph from Yamazaki and Kamiki. Saw it 8 more times in different formats but the box set felt the closest to my first viewing experience. I wasn’t bothered with the no subtitles cause I’ve seen it enough to remember what they’re saying.
Yeah it will be worth it for Toho to do for sure. I watched minus color without the subtitles last night and I was surprised how much I remember as far as dialogue but yeah I prefer the subtitles.

That’s awesome that got autographs! Yeah I watched the minus color version right as I unboxed it but I can’t wait to watch the 4K Dolby version next.
