Bless Ernie. Love that umbrella present. Perfect for him and such a clever design. Your new wall looks beautiful. You're very talented. Your decor definitely reflects that. It's lovely. Enjoy where you are. Stunning countryside. Xx
Loverly Wall Painting Liz. 👍 That was a great mooring too, with the walks & nice a Field for Ernie. Belated happy birthday Liz. 🎂 TFS, & take care you 3. 👍🐶
Hi Andy, so lovely to hear that you are enjoying the Llangollen. How far you got? Thanks for the art work comment, it's not to everyone's taste but i love it and really adds to the interior of the boat. In fairness I don't think the camera did it justice really. 😊
Nice way to start my lazy morning. There's an inch of snow to scoop away from the house. Warm out there. Only a couple degrees below 0 C. Nice to see water that is not hard, Green grass and leaves. Thanks for taking us along !
*Morena Liz, Paul & Ernie 🙂Wow Liz that painting on the wall is amazing. So as I looked at it... I saw a horse running thru the waves and kicking it's hind legs up.🙂 Awesome pressie for Captain Ernie 🙂 Liz Happy belated Birthday 🙂 Great that Paul had a catch up with his mum and mates 🙂 and Liz you also got to catch up with family & friends too 🙂Y'all have a great week...🙂nz*
Tha ks Andrea, the artwork looks better in person really. It works well with our interior. Love how your imagination picked up a picture. Wasn't that gift that Ernie got fabulous. Hopefully he will get to use that lots if we have a good summer next year. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Hope you're well and your neighbours and visitors are enjoying your amazing Xmas lights 😊
@@uponreflection *Liz, yep an awesome pressie for Ernie.... hopefully you will get a hot summer next year 🙂 We are getting hotter temps here finally... average between 23 to 27 yesterday... getting a good tan on now 🙂and we are still in Spring time 🙂 Yep the neighbours and locals enjoying the xmas lights 🙂.*
Your artwork is stunning, just beautiful. I also think Ernie wants some new treats,he looks hungry. Have a wonderful week and thanks for sharing your adventures 😀
Thank you so much, it suits our interior well I think. We actually got him some new treats this week and he's loving them 😉 thanks so much for joining us again, until next time 😊
Thanks for another very enjoyable vlog.... Love Ernie's sunshade/umbrella. Good luck through the "Scare"castle tunnel...as you say you've just got to do it!
Hi there, isn't that sunshade brilliant, looking forward to having a nice summer next year to be able to use it. Thanks for joining us again, see you next time 😊
My first thought was oh god Paul's spilt the paint down the wall, then i realised it was a wonderful work of art it is. Its bad news that Ernie's pumpkin was bigger than the fish that Paul caught last week, another great vlog.
🤣 I can see how you thought that with the art, to be fair the camera doesn't really do the artwork that greater justice. It looks better in real light as you can see the detail and the texture. The stork of Ernies pumpkin was bigger than that fish 🤣😊
Hi you two...how are you both? Thanks for the art comment. It looks a lot better in person, the camera doesn't quite show all the detail. How are you liking boatlife?x
Hi there a nother lovely vlog and love the painting wat a talent love your vlogs and the banter between you both all the can't wait till your next vlog 👌👍
Thank you so much Terrence, we love to hear that you enjoy the videos. Glad you liked the artwork, it's not everyone's cup of tea but it works well with our interior 😊
Great vlog again guys thank you for sharing it with us. Your bread looked really good, not sure I'd be able to eat it after seeing Ernie trying hard to chew through the crust you gave him.😂 Take good care and stay safe. See you next week.😊
Aww I love robins ❤ there's a robin been coming back to my garden a few Winters now. It took a couple of years to realise I swear it's befriended a black bird. Because every Winter the robin comes back and low and behold there's always a lone blackbird with it. They chirp literally all through the night for a few months. It's so cute.
@uponreflection yeah it always feels very special. The second year I saw the black bird in the tree chirping and thought that's the same bird?! The third year I thought that's definitely the same bird! I've sat and watched TV late on and seen both the robin and black bird flying around. Very odd that they're active all night too. By late October early November I hear the chirps through the night and think aww they're back. Too cute! The bit that confuses me is they're not supposed to live that long. So I don't get how a robin and black bird show up every year at the same time.
Good evening from myself and Earl, great vlog again Paul Liz. I loved the part of Ernie tasting Paul's bread l don't think Ernie knew what to do, l was expecting him to do a spit the dog impersonation 😂😂. Loved the new art work Liz out standing 🎨. I'm afraid Earl didn't last through your vlog before his snoring started 😂. Have a great few days and take care.
I have to agree with Earl on this one, not one of my favourite videos this one so tell him not to worry about falling asleep 🤣 That bread that we gave Ernie was a little piece and his reaction was just comical wasn't it 🤣 thanks for the artwork comment it looks better in person as you can see the details, it suits our boat interior well 😀
Dear Liz, Paul and Captain Ernie Liz, belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!🎂🎼🎵🎶You are like a fine wine; you get better with age. If you are not familiar with the American Robin do look them up on Uncle Google, they are so different from the British Robin. Personally I prefer your Robin ours tend to be aggressive and noisy. Having watched other vlogs, Harecastle tunnel is quite the adventure. Who ever is out on deck should wear clothing that can repel water as there is lots of dripping from the ceiling. Also having extra lighting, besides the bow light, will be an asset. OMG I keep forgetting that us viewers are a week or two behind you so you will know all of this about the tunnel by now. Captain Ernie you will need to write a nice letter to thank those kind boaters for making you such a GREAT gift, what an invention to keep the sun and rain off you. Finally Liz your artwork is fantastic. Mark Alberta, Canada
Thanks Mark for the birthday wishes 😍 I've just looked up your Robin. A lot thinner than the British Robin it appears. Yes as this point we were about 4 weeks ahead so Harecastle has been done and uploaded ready for your viewing next week. So spoiler alert: We survived 🤣😉 A lot of people find is quite strange that we have a talking dog...not sure if we are ready for the world to know he also writes letters 🤣 but he did send them a message via Instagram 😉
I would expect nothing less of Captain Ernie as he lives with two excellent examples of human beings. If Captain Ernie does start to write letters let me know and I would have no problems writing back lol. Mark Alberta, Canada@@uponreflection
Your painting reminds me of the Galaxy ,relax and enjoy for hours. All l’ve done is paint the shepherd’s hut prior to moving it (probably disintegrate 😂)Maybe you could attach your camera to Ernie’s umbrella mount ? The Mackerel Sky in the background was fabulous.
Hi Anthony, that a good idea with regards to the camera on the umbrella stand. The artwork looks better off of camera in my opinion. I'm looking forward to some nice summer light to take some better photos of it 😉😊
The morning stuff one had me 😂🤣. If you want to see people sat next to (starts with S ends in T) you need to watch prime ministers questions 😁. You guys deserve way more views on your vids. Thanks
🤣 thanks Dave, glad you enjoyed it. We get a steady number but don't really seem to be growing our views for some reason...maybe we aren't everyone's cup of tea 😉😊
Hasn't that fifteen months flown over! Funny watching Ernie munching on that bread lol, Liz that wall looks bloody amazing! Good times are here when all the summer boaters are back in thier marinas and hire boats are laid up for winter :) When you think how we have four brilliant seasons to go through how lucky are we :) As always brilliant vlog and great content :) Stay safe and warm you three :) PS: I take it your birthday is in next weeks vlog Liz? I'll sing happy birthday then lol :)
Honestly Steve, Ernie proper exaggerated that bread chewing, it was comical, he was given a tiny little piece 🙈🤣 I love our seasons, you really appreciate them when living aboard, autumn for the beautiful colours, winter for the quiet canals and crispness, spring for the new lease of life and summer.....mmm I'd say for the warmth but we've not had a great deal of that since we purchased the boat 🤣 The wall suits our interior but does actually look far better in real light and life, camera doesn't pick up the texture and details I don't think 😊
Hi Liz, Paul & Ern. I do not always comment, but your vlogs are consistently entertaining, and funny. A lot of non-boaters think it is sexist, because the guy does the 'easy' bit on the boat, while the partner struggles with stiff paddles and gates. Perhaps you can let them know why it is what it is?
Hi there, thank you for watching and commenting, we are glad to hear you enjoy the videos. Personally I prefer to be on land doing the locks..like I said to a boater the other day...I can't get blamed for sinking land 🤣 jokes aside though, I prefer to do the lock operation as I'm not confident in steering the boat into the narrow locks. Paul does the majority of the boat steering and controlling so he knows the boat better then me so knows how far forward to take it, when to take it back to keep it safe in the lock. 😊
I'm a non boater and I think there is no such thing as easy job. It's a lot more involved to steer the boat into the lock and keep it off the underwater hazards. It's also a lot of work to work the locks. Keep up the good work. Love the vlogs!
Good night Enrie Liz and Paul I love watching your UA-cam videos on your UA-cam channel I hope everyone is well please say hi to Ermie for me I hope everyone is enjoying your adventures on your narrow boat how does sSanta pay for his prescription
Hi David. We are all good thanks, thanks for joining is again. Mmm now let me think....how does santa pay for his prescription? Nope...you've got me..how? 😊

Hi Yvonne, honestly Ernie is so theatrical, we only gave him a little crumb and he was so comical chewing away at it 🤣😊
