- The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26400IO.OO.A004CA.01 is VERY INACCURATE! I talk about my experience with it, sending it back to AP Service Center, and how I feel about it now. I also compare it to my Rolex SkyDweller.

Man, you need to fix the sound! Its echoing
sorry brotha, some hard ware issues with this one. I'll get it fixed
yea fix your sound before complaining about a watch
Rado 1,700 $ it has more accuracy than AP 0-10 second and power reserve is 80 hr it is double of AP !!
Good quality and very fast shipping checkout.fashion but the most important is the communication. seller always answers, thank u very much my friend!
Well the AP is based on a Valjoux chrono movement. Chronographs are not the most accurate movements. By accurate I mean within COSC, +/- 2 seconds. Then AP is susceptible to magnetism which will derail the accuracy. AP watches are not meant for everyday use. The movements are delicate and to service is expensive (plus $1200k).
interesting. ap's aren't good as a daily wearer? how about rotating in wiht another watch? as a second watch
@@LewisMa unless you don’t mind the hefty service fee no intelligent AP owner where is the same AP everyday.
Lol rapper do tho😂
I like my watches accurate as well. It’s why I love my chronometer grade Pelagos that runs -3 spd. Apparently a lot of folks don’t mind something that’s -20 or 30 spd. FYI - that Rolex won’t stay accurate forever, after about 15 years of wear and tear even with proper servicing, the gears will get some play and no longer be able to achieve COSC specs
That's so surprising that ppl don't mind. I couldn't imagine! Might have to start doing grand seiko reviews lol
20-30 seconds off per day is acceptable for vintage mechanical watches but definately not for modern watches
Chua Yuchai how about Seiko with the NH35 movement or a base grade sellita?
Scott C even the basic ETA or other generic movements can be rated to chronometer grade hence the -2/+6 seconds/day so is nothing special except that the likes of mass produced Rolex go the extend of making their watches to -2/+2 seconds/day says alot about the brand quality and reliability
Chua Yuchai yes, but my point is the lower grades have wide tolerances to 20-30 spd, and most people don’t care
I understand your frustration, 10s a day is simply unacceptable for a watch costing $5000, let alone $25,000. I've had a Seiko SARB which cost around $350 and that was accurate within 5s a day. What's the point in having an exquisitely finished movement if it can't keep good time.
Lewis, great video. I appreciate the way you described the watch and more importantly how it made you feel.
Hi Eric welcome back and thx again for the nice comment. I was surprised to have felt that way! I assume ppl who watch this have been or will be in my shoes so I thought it would be helpful to mention. thx for reinforcing :)
I went from mechanical Rolex to quartz watches for a reason. I'm a stickler for accuracy if it's more than a couple of seconds off I get really really annoyed. I have a phone so I can't stand it when the watch is not matching the time on my phone
I really like your videos, you are getting better at it especially the honesty which reflects in your videos resonates very well, anyone can easily relate to your videos, keep up the good work and wish you get loads of subscriber soon.
thx so much! means a lot!
Agree at all !!!!!!!! several problems withAP 3126/3840 calibe same sht and problems with the chrono right know with the new mov. 4401 no accuracy problems only 3/4 seconds per day but 😢problems with the chrono the min dial moves without activating the chronograph
Sounds annoying! Esp at the price point
Better polish on the movement, less accurate it is. So if you want to have great looking case back, you have to sacrifice accuracy. That's why rolex keeps good time, as it has no/ little polish on the case back.
nice video. thank you for sharing. I am having an AP diver it would get up to 6 seconds a day + until i got a watch winder. Now its running +2 a day. hope it helps
Thx I got frustrated and sold it (at a profit!)
I really enjoy your videos. Would you please do a review on the Grand Seiko brand, especially the "Snowflake?"
thank you! i appreciate you saying that especially I'm more of a "casual" watch fan.
I notice on all your videos you have audio problems and chopped video sequences.
sorry for the audio issues!!!
Lewis Ma - Maximize Your Lifestyle no problem just wanted to make you aware
Rolex accuracy, power reserve, and reliability is amazing. They try harder for your money. I love Rolex too. Thanks for confirming my suspicion. Great video. 👍❤️
i'll never buy an AP!
It’sa nice watch anyway, i own this AP myself. I like it a lot, very modern, masculine, futuristic. Rolex you can see wearing on anyone, old, young, rich, not so rich.... this AP is not for everyone. You have to have the right persona, the right lifestyle for it....
I think a lot of ppl can rock both.
Great video and explanation. Thanks much
Thx so much
What size is your wrist? Looks good
Even 1.5 seconds a day for me is just insanely useless for a time piece. Maybe a piece of decoration or sometime but not for telling time. 1.5 seconds is crazy bad
I never have to adjust my rolexes
Actually what alot of folks do not know about is. The royal oaks chronograph is a separate module and not an integrated not developed by AP but Dubois Depraz. The reason why AP changed the movement is because the Dubois Depraz module is extremely difficult to service and therefore they had to change it. I don't know why AP is still 1 of the holy trinity of the Swiss watch industry. Most of their movements are either developed by JLC or Dubois Depraz
Honestly this is why it’s very hard to compare with Rolex. It’s incredible in terms of accuracy and just being so versatile. I had a number of issues with my AP diver and hardly did anything strenuous with it.
Crazy for a 17k watch right? Rolex it is for me
I use this app to check accuracy of my Seamaster. Basic, but does the job.
ditto, it does the job
If you are looking for high accuracy than you need to consider Patek Philippe, Grand Seiko, A Lange & Sohne or Glashütte
i heard pateks have the same inaccuracy issues. do you know first hand?
@@LewisMa they just can't be asked to get them cosc certified because they think their movements are so bulletproof (they're not), but to the average ap or Patek Owner it does not matter as they never wear the same watch more than a day in a row and they reset them every time they wear them.
I've got a 15450st n it gains a minute every 5 days. While its a great watch to look at, its terrible stuff considering it was only serviced in 2019.
So annoying to set every couple weeks
my 26470ST runs at +5
Not as bad as mine was
Good video content on watch accuracy and I have heard some other watch youtubers such as Paul Thorpe also moan about AP watches not a good time keeper and being one of the watch trinity is really unacceptable to me personally considering Rolex who mass produces watches can have a much better accuracy. I don't own AP but have an opportunity to look in very detail an offshore diver under a 10X loupe and was also surprise that AP finishing is no way near a mass produced Rolex hence another reason for me staying away from owning an AP. The third reason is also on the cost of servicing AP which I head is long and expensive. Btw, wonder how much your friend paid for the changing of the entire movement by the AP service centre - it must have cost him a bomb
yeah it's amazing that Rolex can do what they do with the quantities that they make. The movement change was suggested by AP and was done under warranty for free :)
Lewis Ma - Maximize Your Lifestyle Hence, so far I am sticking with Rolex unless some other brands convinces me otherwise.
I was told the offshore chrono has a potential service cost of 6-7k dollars
@@antonhallergren588 that is way beyond most watch collectors' budget I believe.
Lewis, this is what I sent you a couple of weeks ago.

Lewis, My choice for you would be a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Auto (BLUE DIAL). The versatility would be great with the choice of 3 straps. You have the see through case back, and a watch from the Holy Trinity. You can actually buy it new or pre owned for a great price. Tell me what you think. To Hell with Georgia!
I remember, I looked it up! I like that blue dial!
I don't know if I can wrap my head around the bezel but all other aspects of the watch are beautiful 👍
audemarS...s is silent. basics
Are Omega watches accurate?
Never owned one sorry
Yes they are. My seamaster from 2017 is accurate to 1 to 2 seconds a day.
Hi good info like everytime, only bad sound
thx and sorry for the audio!!!
00:17 can confirm... lol.
I would loose my S*it if at +10. My Pelagos has gained one sec in about 4months, my GS does about plus 2sec a day. Anything else I find I do not keep. I care more about the accuracy then the brands I know Im in the minority but it is the main tool purpose after all.
damn i would have thought the pelagos wouldnt be so accurate and the GS would be MORE accurate. both great either way!
@@LewisMa Yea I wore my GS for a year straight very accurate and then it started loosing time it turned out there was a gasket that went bad. Got the Pelagos as a second watch and I been amazed with the accuracy to be honest.
Unless you are going down high end horology route which essentially are works of art on the wrist which of course have to be babyed or you can bag a big hitting investment piece I wouldn’t enter the holy trinity . When it comes to very complete well crafted durable sports watch It’s hard to beat Rolex .Rolex . Sure it can be argued that competitors may do some things better but as a whole and complete product it’s hard to beat Rolex .
Agreed. I got rid of this piece and won't be getting another ap
What is annoying is the echo in your sound
Thanks for the feedback. Audio issues fixed in future videos
It is either you don’t have money to buy few watches at all and only one watch worn for 2 weeks 🤣 or you are unprofessional using apps to test a mechanical watch
Huh
i just sent in my ROO novelty ceramic 44mm into the AP Service Centre. They told me the same thing, they were gonna switch out my 3216/3840 movement to a "better one". the previous movement i had started to stop dead after about 6 hours. and i think this is not an uncommon problem as watch forums seem to talk about this too. anwyay the watch is in for 4 weeks, and i'm just glad that i send it into AP instead of an independent.
agree with you that the movement stinks in keeping time, but nothing beats having an AP on the wrist. its a whole another level. So we bear with its idiosyncracies i guess....happily too, i might add.
It was nice to wear but I think I'm back to rolex.....for now
Buy an Apple Watch if you annoyed
Nah not my style
@@LewisMa stop complaining about 10 seconds then
@@jjoomusic I don't like my watches being off
@@LewisMa funny cause my AP is off my -2 and Rolex off my -3
@@jjoomusic nice. yeah my rolexes are all spot on
Terrible sound
Sorry Alex, fixed now
@@LewisMa good video though! 😉
