Great vid. i still kinda play on intuition, so i learn a lot from your explanations and thought processes. Also, i'm super excited for 5p season! It's my favourite set-up.
6:24 can you explain your reasoning behind not taking Vineyard here? This seems like the strongest angle for Vineyard, given how much it gives you -- is science that scary?
Very nice game, thanks! I was wondering whether there was a chance that the Science Guild would wheel in Age 3, as Giza was the only one able to build it and it would not be as many points for him. Or would it be too risky not to take it immediately in turn 1 of age 3?
It's incorrect to not take it. Notice that you can only build it from your stage 2 effect (due to lack of loom), so hoping it to wheel means you cannot play any other guilds until it wheels.
5:30 When you say "Olympia is good in this situation" (in other videos too), I often think other wonders would also be as good as Olympia if there. Typically Ephesus A or B. Excited for 5p arena? Not really. Longer waiting time and more randomness are expected. However, in 4p, it is kinda unfair that just sitting in the opposite of a mad scientist often AUTOMATICALLY means you can't get 2nd or higher. 5p seems better in this point.
Ephesos is good, but it has a problem that people are less likely to go green, green, because they are afraid you will go green. The next best thing is probably Alexandria, but it a bit trickier as well. I think Olympia is the best in this position.
I found the comment good fun, well played, but I think Olympia is more flexible than people give it credit for. It's no Hali/Ephesos, but it can suprise you more than giza/rhodos can.
@@WonderfulPlays What else can you do that try to win red? OK, I remember the Olympia Night guildmaster game you posted in the channel but I do not think it is easily replicated.
I think there are green splashes that you can pursue (I think I have 1-2 games coming) and there is also yellow economy you can build IMO (the 2nd stage is actually not bad for it) - I'll try to cover it as well. I also think that your opponents knowing that you will try win red quite heavily is a huge advantage (as shown for example in this video).
Are you excited for 5 player arena season?
Great video. The reason I love it is that I would have picked lume instead of throwing it 1000% of the time (in the 1st round) .
Thanks! I would often play it as well, but I decided to spice it up a little bit, just because I was afraid of Babylon running away with the game.

Thanks, glad to help! I am excited and scared at the same time, but I think as a community we need to try this at least once! :)

Just wondering what the ending song of your videos is?
I really like the snippet...
ua-cam.com/video/Odfs3KOX0ww/v-deo.html this is the one with some basic noise reduction I believe.
@@WonderfulPlays Thanks for your quick answer! But I think, this isnt the right one. I mean the one with the guitar at the end... Thanks in advance!

Oh, it's ironical that Olympia's inflexibility in overall strategy drives its neighbors to green, to its advantage.
