A bird that perches delicately on top of a biro, a pen that pretends to be an umbrella, and a Hello Kitty pen which has an animation feature built into the end - every time you push it, a different face appears. These are all examples of what Tim calls his 'peculiar pens'.
A cat that lights up when you press it, a pencil that you can suck while you search for inspiration, and a magnetic pen that stays in a vertical position when you place it on the base.
A fish pen, a pencil with a Disney character at the end on a swing, and a pen that looks rather like a Dalmatian dog.
Finally a pen with an animate character at the top. Push the slider firmly and the little character animates and laughs. What fun! - Наука та технологія

I’ve noticed that this channel is getting more popular recently, I’m glad this wholesome man’s channel is getting the attention it deserves, he just reviews toys with unique features that usually have some kind of illusion or utilize physics in a unique way, and I find that very wholesome.

1:33 I found it interesting that he easily remembered Minnie Mouse's name. But when playing with the hello kitty pen, I felt he carefully avoided calling that's a cat. Then I randomly remembered there's some ppl arguing that is a person a while back lol

That balancing bird in the beginning of this video make me remember when i visited my grandparents when i was a young child. I can't semes to find them anymore. I have seen 3D printed ones and other animals. But the plastic bird is gone forever. I would be so happy and tearful if i ever found it again 😢
Here in Brazil this bird was a huge success! I loved playing with it putting on the tip of my finger hahahha.

I was expecting the fish pen to have a mechanism to extend and retract the tip by squeezing the sides of the fish. Probably because I used to have a fish flashlight that was operated by squeezing the sides.

Tim not knowing Hello Kitty or Minnie Mouse right away despite being a toy enthusiast fascinates me.
He knows a lot about toys but not much about cartoons i guess. He is also an old man so you know, his memory is not so good i think. But that is just my opinion.
His educational background is engineering. I think he appreciates toys for their designs more than their brand appeal. He seems to have a keen memory for artisans and toy companies that impress him.

In re the q; "Is the pen mightier than the sword?" I'd say that it damned well SHOULD be, in a truly civilized world, but we see all too clearly that it's not, if the pen stands for communication, dialogue etc and the sword for force majeur in all it's forms..
These here pens have great value if used as a means of getting kids to use them in the ordinary way. There's real evidence that our reliance on keypads is harming our ability to write and to process information, as well as having a deletarious effect on our ability to concentrate..
Oh, and these wacky instruments of scripture are all the most marvellous FUN also, but this goes without saying, o'course, in a Grand Illusions film! ⭐👍
