I love that I ordered Aspects in Astrology by Sue Tompkins the other day. Then hearing Carole say that Sue was the genesis of her starting this book (which I just ordered), it makes me feel like there is a bit of synchronicity in all of this. Great chat.
Really enjoyed this podcast. As I study different charts, I find that the Ascendant, Descendant, IC, and Midheaven in any of these aspect patterns can be a powerful as a planet.
Interesting i was wondering if they counted if no planets there. I have fixed Tsquare but if you take into account my descendent with no planet would be fixed grand cross. Also would you count nodes?
I just heard a lecture by Jen Zhart about the "hidden element", the concept of not having any planets in a particular element creates a hidden grand trine. The explorer discissed has as hidden grand trine in fire. Interesting. And Cobain has fire & air hidden grand trines...
Incredibly rich content. I found her book in 2018 to introduce astrology to my partner. It's a wonderful intro and way to share! I'm fascinated by her journey...thank you for the detailed interview so we can know the rich background of this author and honor her work. She lends courage to this study and profession. I will be also sharing the children's version of her book! How wonderful to have the foresight to create both formats.

I’ve been doing charts since 1968 and have used chart patterns. I studied with Rudhyar and Gavin Arthur. I have a Locomotive and Kite. I’ve all the aspects mentioned.

C T is the first astrologer I will confident to read my chart. Sorry to say. Because I have watched and love many. Just never got a feeling of confidence in which I do listening to Carole. Too she has my mom's first name and grandmother's last. Lol. Fantastic program. I do hope she will be on again.
Wow! When she talked about identifying the parents in the T-Square, I have never thought of that but that’s bang on the mark. My father is the Sun in my 9th H, my mother is Neptune in the 4th H and I’m on my Virgo Ascendant. I am always working internally on myself, and never let myself off the hook, I’m always working (job wise) and always pushing myself to do better but that same Neptune T-Square has kept me in a state of delusion. I’m such a goal setter and don’t know what to do if I don’t have something to work towards, so I will make goals and I’m always in 500 directions and never settled with satisfaction in one thing. I am shook right now on how spot on she is with that. I know she said she didn’t think a T-Square included ascendant but it has shown up as a psychological issue for me. I do have both Mars and Saturn conjunct right next to my Ascendant though.
This was the first Astrology book I picked up, and coincidentally at a spirituality festival last year. The way that Carole lays the fundamentals has been so instrumental in my understanding the basics. So happy that you were able feature her.
Please, more Carole! Excellent. Most therapeutic for someone with two yods, two t squares and an inspected Venus. Yes, the yod is a big deal in the fact it takes an audience and fate to bring it to life.

I absolutely loved this episode and I’ve listened several times. I would love to sit down and chat with Carol for hours and just pick her brain. What fabulous insights she has!
I have a cardinal grand cross and can understand the need to run towards danger, especially if someone tells me I can’t. The alternative feels like being trapped by indecision. I have mostly fire placements. Carole is also correct regarding complexity of family of origin and the tension of trying to be the peacemaker- also a middle child. Aries Sun Moon and Mercury square Mars in Capricorn, opposite Neptune in Libra, and square Uranus in Cancer. My therapist says I have rabbits running around in my head.

I have a fixed T-Square with Uranus (1st house) 26 Scorpio opposite my 22 degree (7th house) Chiron Taurus and square to my 21/22/26 degree Leo (10th house) Sun/Midheaven/Mercury conjunction. It has been a struggle to find my own originality, identity, and career outside of a parental influence that was very controlling and tons of pressure growing up. I also have grand fixed cross in my chart and most of my planets are 22-26 degree of their signs.
I love you Chris. While watching your podcast I definitely try to guess other astrologer's rising sign, you always have strong Scorpio vibes. I remember someone saying you have a Scorpio stellium so I checked out your chart online, it's very intriguing 🖤

When I've started wstching I've got the feeling that Carol is Pisces ascendant, especially when she talked about hraling, harmonica, all this Pisces themes, but makes more sense now, Gemini ascendant with MC in Pisces, Saturn in 9th in 22 degrees which seems to give kind of resilience and patience in these fields. I have Saturn transiting my 9th and I've observed that all this patience side being in focus, rewarding learning but not only that.
Loved this, very informative. Had to look up my chart (of course) and to my surprise a Grand Fire Trine, Cradle, Castle, 3 T-Squares and 3 Yods & Mars in 10 aspects! with three planets in Pisces

I have a grand water trine and two different kites that share that grand trine base (one apex in Virgo and the other in Capricorn). Very helpful to hear about these aspects.

This has been epic, its hard to find a lot of info on aspect patterns. I have 2 T squares, 2 yods, a grand fire trine, a rectangle, a cradle, and ten squares with Jupiter in 10 aspects! Any more info would be greatly appreciated, but this was a fantastic start!😍👏🙌💃🌠
