1:30 Hogan dropping the leg followed by Bossman catching Savage with the Bossman Slam was pretty awesome.
Yeah.. That was fire 🔥.. 👍🏿♥️
Word that was perfect. Plus I loved that Bossman walk. Swag level high
Came to say the same thing lol
That why games back then were way way way better!!!
This was my favorite game in the arcade.
I was able to finish the game without losing one bar of health.
I would use Big Boss Man/Macho Man or Big Boss Man/ Ultimate Warrior.
Landing that flying clothesline by Macho Man on Andre the Giant was awesome.
Yeah you needed that to smash Andre up.
Looks awesome 😎 never played it before would love ❤️ to if I see it in the wild
Oh really? I can buy beating it without losing but one bar of health? I guess it's possible
That flying clothes line was a cheese. Savage/Bossman combo was the best, especially pvp.
This was a great game.
2 Spots you can do in this game that nobody ever would have thought to try in 1989:
Hulk Hogan can hit a leg drop from the top rope to the outside
Run across the ring and dive over the ropes to the floor (brutal when you do it as Bossman)
I had just started watching wrestling in 1992 and I remember I stayed at a hotel in Massachusetts that had this in its gameroom. I always picked Warrior and Macho because the Ultimate Maniacs were a team at the time. Great times!
That wasn't the Honky Tonk Man's - Shake Rattle & Roll...lol
Yeah, it was closer to a Rude Awakening than it was the Shake, Rattle, and Roll
That's neckbreaker
@tims4502 Rick Rude was actually planned to be in the game, so it makes sense that it's more of a Rude Awakening. Brutus Beefcake was originally planned to be in it also.
It took technos to get WWF right.
@Nehemiah Pouncey:
This game was made by Technos. Wrestlefest is the sequel to Superstars.
Dibiase and Duggan are pretty much pallete swaps.
The Big boss man over the ropes body slam was always the best move on this game.
They have this game on Google play love playing this
Hello my childhood. Nice to see you again ^_^
Ah, the memories. IMO, this was slightly more difficult than the iconic Wrestlefest, particularly the Mega Bucks. Now I did have a lot of trouble beating LOD, that is until I found my forever championship team: SGT.Slaughter & Earthquake!! Ran thru the whole game twice on $2!!
Big Boss Man also had that splash to pin the guy. Instead of just pinning him with just his hand.
True I use this move, the body splash
Hogan never did a piledriver to my knowledge except this game. Hacksaw did the running clothesline thing too in real life as his finisher.
Yeah, I was about to say Duggan’s finisher was the three point stance clothesline. And Hogan did go for a piledriver on Andre at Wrestlemania 3 on the outside of the ring, after pulling back the mat. Andre reversed it, though, and backdropped Hogan with ease.
There is no footage of Hogan off the top ropes either.
@@ThunderFist1978 Duggan also used a running knee drop as a finisher later in his career.
@@jamesmuller1481yes there is
Hogan has done quite a few. I remember one specifically done to Orndorff back in the 80s
One of my favorite games. Owned one for about a decade
Looks like Big Boss Man slept on that first one. 😂😂
Technos was the perfect arcade game developer to make a WWF game. I wish they made more besides WrestleFest. The Midway ones were fun, but they were more like a fighter.
i should own at least 5 of these arcade cabinets, thats how much i played this game!
I have purchased about the same amount in quarters of Street Fighter 2.
Awesome man !!!
See this was when WWF games were
WWF games.
Better than that atrocity on nes.
Even on snes and Genesis, those WWF series were terrible compared to Superstars and Wrestlefest. It wasn't even close.
@@paulmillercanada acclaim couldn't get it
Right till attitude.
Ljn couldn't get it right either.
Or rare.
Yes that rare.
They were responsible for the WWF
Nes games.
UA-cam paused my comments.
This is the only way i can respond.
They filed me for harassment and
Bullying despite i didn't say nothing
To no one.😒
Now it's 6 hours.
Update: it's done.
i need to play this one more
I like how Hogan’s legdrop had a front or rear view animation
I find it funny that Ultimate Warrior Finisher still had that botch feel to it because it reflects how Ultimate Warrior was unsafe with other wrestlers.
Honky Tonk man with the rude awakening 😅
What do you Press to do the Finisher?
That running bulldog though😵
This game is underrated. I preffer this over Wrestlefest. If they would only do a modern game like this with old & new characters. If done right, it would be the perfect game.
They have. There is a WWF Wrestlefest remake, and I think there is even a version called Retromania which has a bunch of guys who the WWF didn't have rights to, lol.
@@EGarrett01 First off, that was Wrestlefest. This is Superstars. The graphic styles are different in Wrestlefest. Secondly, Retromania sucked. Mainly because of the roster. You can be LOD, and a couple other older wrestlers, but that's it. No Andre, no hogan, no warrior, no flair, no Taker. If they are gonna make a game like that they should have everyone that was in the original game + more. I would never waste my time or money with Rero mania. The Undertaker & Warlord were originally in Wrestlefest, but they took them out. They should have had them. I dont care about guys like the blue meanie & tommy dreamer. That game was done wrong.
@@jamesmuller1481 First off, I know this was called Superstars. The game is still using a very similar if not the same engine. Second off, modern games in this style have been made even if you don't like them. Third, if you're old enough to have played this, you shouldn't write such a stupid and immature reply.
I don't recall or remember Hacksaw Jim Duggans finisher being a running Bulldog? If memory serves me correctly his finisher was a 3-points stance?
To the creators of the game hogan is supposed to run to the ropes for the Leg drop of Doom!
Superstars was dreadful compared to Wrestlefest. The fact that they messed up multiple finishers is indefensible.
I’m pretty sure Hacksaw Jim Duggan never did a bulldog in his entire pro wrestling career.
lol yep, the only inaccuracy of the entire compilation of finishers.
Hogan and Duggan having a pile driver and a bulldog, respectively, was inaccurate...but the animation on those looked great.
I can just imagine what Brutus Beefcake’s and Rick Rude’s animations would have looked like. It would have meant that Ted Dibiase and Andre would not have been the only wrestlers who could submit their opponents.
Macho's elbow deserved a better animation.
I thought Hogan’s signature move was the Piledriver in this game
Keep in mind this game was made in Japan where wrestlers don't really have "finishing moves", which is mostly a western element in wrestling. Duggan does have his clothesline, but he doesn't have the football pose he does before it. What's weird is Boss Man has the big splash, which I never saw him do and Warrior doesn't even though it WAS his finisher.
Wait, what? Japanese wrestlers have some of the most famous and deadly finishers in the world. Burning Hammer anyone?
@eyemixmusic6328 They don't have finishing moves as in each having one move only they do, that almost always ends the match. Any wrestler might use whatever they like, and while something like the burning hammer is very likely to end a match it's not assured.
@@Foamhead Sorry, that just isn't true. Finishing moves are much more protected in Japan, and much more likely to end a match, and there are loads of moves that are famously associated with one wrestler.
@@Foamhead Lol um that is what a finishing move means little kid. A signature move that ends the match. Japanese wrestlers have finishing moves.
1:14 sounds like the boss music
From growl.
They couldn't animate a clothesline for Duggan?
HTM looked like the rude Awakening
I never knew how to do the finishers😔
Bossmsn slsm was the cheat
Duggan - Running Bulldog.
They have this for Xbox
Someone should mod this to make Andre look like Mr Blobby because Dibiase looks like Noel Edmonds. What a Tag Tea. 😂
Unfortunately that won't be possible while both of them are under contract to Crinkley Bottom Wrestling
In the game it says wresters don't do drugs bs they use steroids
I WANT A SUPERSTARS SEQUEL, NOT A WRESTLEFEST SEQUEL. BOOM!
Never understood why they made DiBiase sound so weird. Worst voice impression ever. He sounds like Reggie from the Archie cartoons
Yeah it was way off but funny
Technos double dragon artstyle
