I have to say, I like ship builds that use a majority of parts from one or two manufactures. I know that limits the creativity a bit, but it makes them so much easier to build. Also, really looking forward to the next build!
I kinda agree, kinda. Yeah, they look more aesthetically pleasing and you know what's what, but at the same time it does limit creativity. I'm personally waiting to hit 4th rank in ship building, but I also hear some experimental parts aren't even unlocked until like lvl50-60!!! I'm planning on building a massive dreadnaught of sorts with hardcore everything
I have found that the placement of windows and doorways affects the internal parts of the habitat modules. So if you are missing beds, bathrooms, galleys, tables, etc. it is due to their use. To see this for yourself, try a quick and simple test by removing some of the windows and then revisiting your ship. You will be amazed at what is now there. I tend to use only top (ceiling) windows myself as a result my testing as they tend to affect nothing.
That's what I'm talking about! A ship made to tear through Spacers and pirates with impunity, with a swashbuckling, cutlass-swinging, pistol-weilding captain who'd make even FudgeMuppet's pirate build sweat cannonballs!
Colony Wars UC veteran build when lol. Former UC marine/pilot who got honorably discharged following the colony wars because the UC didn't need as many soldiers as they did during the war. He decides that he's too young to retire on his UC pension and decides to apply for Argos as he misses the hard work. He's excited to get involved in constellation as working with them reminds him of working in a team again. He happily joins the UC Vanguard to relive his youth.
Maybe take inspiration from submarine warfare? Other than fighter pilots, they're the only military force that has to fight in 3 dimensions. The Hopetech interiors give off that vibe. Maybe take a look at The Hunt for Red October for some inspiration on weapons types and placement.
Something you might want to mention is the minimum level that the parts you suggest all become available. Many will soon discover that many parts are PC Level Locked and wonder why they can’t see/buy them.
Got to love the irony of building a ship with luxury vibes entirely out of Taiyo habs because they look nicer on the outside and what's the first thing you see when you go up the ladder? Scuff marks on the floor and walls of a brand new ship, along with what appears to be some sort of stain left behind when something was dragged down the wall leading into the living quarters. I love the overall design, don't get me wrong, but I genuinely feel like Stroud habs look better inside and out and the interiors have the bonus of matching the colour scheme of your sword more closely.
People are doing amazing with mods even as it is. When the Creation Kit drops next year starfield is gonna explode and they're gonna get weird with it. People making custom ship modules is going to be nice
I look forward to that. All I need is nice structural pieces to encase the ship hab modules and hide this modular look to these ships. Say, Millennium Falcon structural pieces for a better circular and angular forms.
Thanks, this video really helped me trim the fat... I was so close. Same ship, and I was really close to that 2nd biuld, and I could have spent a lot more creds to figure it out. Took a break and saw this. Big help.
I would’ve thought that a Cyberrunner would’ve been a good Ryujin Operative, if you ever make a Cyberrunner ship I can imagine it having a lot of control stations, computer cores and battle stations
It’s kinda funny, this is the polar opposite direction than what I did for my Ronin character. My character’s ship is fairly small and extremely utilitarian, most because it fits a more dark and brooding lone wolf kinda character.
Yeah mine is more of a rough and heavily weaponized ship because my ronin is more of a merc than stealthy assassin. It will be fun to see how different our ronin builds are going to be.
@chadharger9323 I am planning on using it, but I haven’t had the spare perk points to invest in it yet. I am using Introvert, and having extra oxygen is always nice.
I really hope that you can do another Starfield ship build video soon mainly I would love to see a Millennium Falcon inspired smuggling ship or a Nostromo inspired cargo ship
I think a fun idea to alter the last luxury cruise design would be having a side docker that connects into the passenger section. With the idea being that you would pick up passengers in a spaceport, they would enter from the side docker, never have to use any ladders, or go through any crew areas. The crew and Captains would enter and exit through the landing bay when the ship lands for refueling. But your typical passenger pickups would occur that is space station, where they would use some sort of small shuttle to go from planet to station. And then they would board the cruise line.
I’d really like to see you do more ship builds. To go along with solid character builds maybe mid to late game suggestions. I was hoping to see more from the community but it’s not quite there yet. Please and thank you 😉
Darken the yellow from base and it turns into gold. I somewhat copied this ship but added my favorite engines and wings (keeping everything rounded) named it the Gilgamesh
You can actually make the C class version of this as A class. Its just that youll glitch the white dwarf 3000 engines and settle for class A modules (probably glitch the ones needing starship design). Very lore rich ship build. I love it!
I would love to see your interpretation of an upgraded razorleaf the ship you get from the Mantis side quest. I just love the starfighter feel of that ship but I'm not quite creativ enough to enhance and expand upon its design
I love the second design and am now using a modified version for my Operative/smuggler character. I made it slightly longer adding shielded cargo scan jammers & crafting habs.
1st ship is minimum level 17 for all the listed modules. Min level 43 for the 2nd one and at least level 53 for the last one. I wish they would include this info.
@@sus425Looking up the level requirement for the parts used. I understand why they'd limit high tier reactors for higher level characters, but I wish if you had the highest tier of ship design you'd get access to level locked parts earlier or something.
Question.... are you able to add storage chests to the interior of the ship? It would be so cool to have that first room off the landing bay lined with storage crates along all 4 walls! I am asking for a friend who is a HUGE HOARDER! You know the type picks up everything of value and is aways over encumbered... LOL 😂
As a FO4 and FO76 player, I was sad to see we couldn't customize the interiors on our ships. I'd love to place collectibles and decorations and things.
The Stroud-Eklund habs are probably more for "luxury" when you think about it. It's the only hab company that has a 2x2 living quarters that's arranged like someone's lounge area that I know of.
Black with gold, like the grip and saya (just means scabbart) of a katana, i have seen a couple of those by now and it looks really good. Very appropraite for a Samurai/Ronin build. And nice development from A to C, it gives a good impression of the character you have in mind.
I made the bigger ship build and like it. Something that might be nice is where you built the ship and slow down while talking and highlight each piece when you talk about it for us slower yanks. I'm going to build the C class ship next. Thank you for your time. It is greatly appreciated. I rp a disgruntled UC captain that has gone private contractor
These ships will go great with my vigilante Ronin type. He's taken the role of The Mantis after finding her old lair and modified her ship to be more deadlier (and kinda looks like a bat, not intentional.) But he does need a sleeker ship for traveling around not as his vigilante persona.
DLC wise, we'll get the story expansion, so it may introduce a couple new ships and parts nothing much, we'll get a house varun type DLC (similar to dawnguard and knights of the nine) you 'll join a joint UC and freestar faction a power that was around in the serpents crusade but was later disbanded and is now been rebuilt we'll get two or three ship DLC's so one of them may be a trident DLC
Great video showcasing some very good designs, so here I am once again today spending most my time in game building more ships by Fudgemuppet....... This is a good thing though, ship building is just so much fun.
God i really wish Bethesda add trident luxury ship parts coz I really want to see some habs that are designed for nothing but making your ship look like a 5 star hotel of sorts
I love the ship building .... and hate it. : ) Just when I have a cool idea, I find the parts I see on NPC ships are not available to me. I think of the Fortuna and Vlad's house and say "Yep, they're going to charge for that" :p
One thing I can think of for the first design is to swap the living quarters and the captains quarters. You, as the captain, don't want everyone walking through your really nice room, so why put it at the entranceway? Similarly, the crew's quarters(the living qurters) are of course not as luxurious and are right at the entrance so they can more quickly move about the ship or off the ship as needed
While I really like the ship building in Starfield, it's just got enough problems I don't find myself enjoying it, if that makes sense? Most interiors all feel the same. I was really hoping with the Taiyo stuff it'd be a REAL step above everything else in terms of luxury, but it feels... pretty much the same. Nothing bothers me more than having a door through my captains quarters into the workshop or something. I guess the interiors I was hoping for some very practical stuff like what we have, and them maybe more Star Trek Next Gen inspired... not luxury but nicer... carpets. Last sorta complaint about the ship building is most cockpits that have your crew right beside you. They just won't shut up. I forget which one but there's one cockpit that has your crew right beside you so the whole time during a fire fight all you hear is "Need something?" "Always a nice day to talk to hte captain" "I've got something for you." over and over...
I made pretty much a battlecruiser that's pretty indestructible but it is not the prettiest thing I just have it with a lot of cargo cuz I'm basically trying to basically all my research I'm going to 100% before I beat the game I'm pretty close to like I think like 3 or 4 main quest left and it's practically my first playthrough don't really care too much what happens in New game Plus just going to keep on levelling so I can max out all my stuff

The ship builder is still way too restrictive and limited in options for my liking. It's gonna take a few expansions/DLCs and some major mods to make it really good. Especially the interior design and placement of doors and ladders needs to be a lot more customisable. How about a proper deep space exploration ship for Constellation next? the customsiation is so so so darn limeted, exterios have a ok number of choices but if you wnat to build anything with diagonals you instantly run into the bigest limitation of the builder -.- oh and there may be 5 ship companies for interiors but really there are only 3, not even joking, put all e.g. captain rooms side by side in one ship and youll see that daimos and strous are almost identicle same for tayo and hope, they do have some very minour differances one being the colour ever wonder why we cant chose the colours for ship interiors ? its becauase one of the very small diferances is one is a white interior and one is black -.-
The only thing i hate about ship building is not having one place with everything. And i don't think the game does a great job of explaning outposts. Nor does the nav system have a great way to locate vendors and / or settlements.
I can’t saw for sure about hundreds of years in the future as a starship company name but here on Earth, now; Tao is pronounced Dow or at worst Dow with a t. Next time you can save a syllable.
the whole lack of luxury parts i think its alright taken base on lore, if humanity only had like 50 years to GTFO out of Earth of course utilitarism is gonna take over everything. People needed to make shelter insome inhospitable place becase there was no replacement homeworld, even if it took a few years for them to find new habitables it would have still taken a lot of time for mankind to regress to a time where aesthetics matter. this is more like The Expanse, Halo or Avatar and less like Elite or the X series.
..i don't want to hear people role playing "star wars" with starfield.. if you aren't willing to just create your very own ship from scratch, then don't play. my laptop CAN'T play the game, and the more i see "similarities" between starwars and starfield, the more i am convinced no to even bother with it.
During the Freestar Ranger quest line I was disappointed that Marco's ship was not stealable. That was a cool luxury ship

the whole lack of luxury parts i think its alright taken base on lore, if humanity only had like 50 years to GTFO out of Earth of course utilitarism is gonna take over everything.
Black and yellow doesn’t scream luxury lol
..i don't want to hear people role playing "star wars" with starfield.. if you aren't willing to just create your very own ship from scratch, then don't play. my laptop CAN'T play the game, and the more i see "similarities" between starwars and starfield, the more i am convinced no to even bother with it.
