That is actually a really good point. The creator economy isnt buoyant enough to start taxing the creators. If the government does their part to bring it up, it would make sense to tax them. The way it is now. Its like the government is scrambling to steal from whoever is doing their best to help itself
Ghana’s former finance minister’s development plan was through taxation. this has been extensively documented. for them to not have contributed to the development of creatives, yet they plan to tax them 15% on earnings is ridiculous. should this happen, all creators affected must truly hold the various agencies accountable and ensure their taxes go to the development of the creative industry. if not, they must find tax havens and continue their operations. they must play the game. politicians park their monies in swiss banks and avoid paying the taxes they levy on their citizens. so so double standards.
