I guess it's the end of hand drawn animation at Disney. I guess I'll just have to let it go and accept that Disney prefers doing CGI animation and probably too ashamed of their hand drawn legacy.😢😭

13:35 - 17:15 I assume strongly that the project Mark is referring to is "D.I.Y. Duck".

I appreciate your guy's honesty when talking about how Disney animation has changed and not all for the better.
I now roll my eyes whenever someone working at the studio responds to a question with "We're THINKING about another 2D film down the line," or "It's POSSIBLE that we can go back to 2D feature films." No offense to those people as they do have jobs to keep, but every time I hear those answers, I just can't help but think "You guys have been saying that for 10 years now! Either put up or shut up!"

It's crazy that Mark takes the position of not directing because he feels it had to happen at Disney. Where possibly God wanted him to leave Disney so he could direct what God has been calling him to create. I pray it all works out for him. God bless you guys for digging deep with him in such an honorable way.

After directing John Henry, Mark returns to California to animate the hula dancers in Lilo & Stitch.

I've been listening to your podcast for YEARS at this point. Previously I was using Google Podcasts, which is now being eliminated, though I wish now that I had started using UA-cam sooner so I could type out my support. This episode makes me want to cry. I miss the 2D animation during the 1990s and the early 2000s. I loved what Pixar was doing, but never thought that they would DESTROY the 2D art form (and to me The Incredibles 2 was the last really good Pixar movie). That comment about needing the 'subtlety' of 3D CG is just bogus. We don't NEED new content-all-the time-always; we need actual ART that we all can connect to! I wish Disney would go back to their roots so people like Mark Henn can do what they are best at!
