    The Medical Examiner was the voice of reason in the courtroom. If you find a child's body disposed of outside with ducktape around the mouth and nose, the manner of death is homicide. The child had bedding from her bedroom with her. Mom doesn't report her child missing. It is still so hard to believe that the jury got this so wrong.
    This little girl would be preparing to graduate high school. RIP

      @TheSchwegmann I watched a series about the OJ trial. One of the jurors was interviewed. Rodney King was a bad thing that happened in LA right before the OJ case. She said that the jury was getting revenge for Rodney. Remember that it was a downtown LA trial with mostly a black jury. That is why the dream team took up racism and the LAPD in that trial. They wanted to stir the emotions surrounding the Rodney King beating. They blurred the lines that created doubt. The prosecutor actually did a great job of proving their case, though. She just didn't know one of the officers was on tape saying racist comments. OJ didn't commit the perfect crime. He just chose the right time to do it. He was found responsible for the civil trial. They found a picture of him wearing those fancy shoes that left prints in the blood. They had so much more evidence.

      The elements didn’t fit first degree murder but they did meet second degree. For whatever reason, the prosecuting attorney never charged her with second degree and could have. Now he can’t because it’s double jeopardy. The state needs to know the cause of death for a first degree charge to stick.

    • @SUZANNECARPENTER-ou3je

      @mindypendergrass2710 Do you remember that Casey had deleted searches made on the computer? When she was released, she went home and deleted searches. The IT, however, missed something that was found later. If this I formation would have been found and given at trial, it was proof of first degree murder. Also, her behavior during the time that the mother didn't report her missing is the behavior of a celebration to be free of responsibility. It seeks that jurors no longer accept circumstantial evidence. They want DNA and cameras.

      The jury didn’t get it wrong. The jury based their decision on what they were presented with which wasn’t the full story. Had they been told of her internet searches for example, then I bet the outcome would have been different. You have to remember that the jury didn’t know as much as we do. They are also deciding on a person’s life. It’s not the fault of the jury.

      They weren't DA. They could only work with what they were given. Not only did her mother lie to protect her, the guy analysing the computer searches made serious errors and the prosecution did a poor job (as did the ME) and used new unproven 'evidence'. Plus he didn't give the jury a second charging choice to cover the gap in evidence. I watched every bit of this trial and even the prosecutor now says he has regrets.
      It's not just about guilt- the guilt must be PROVEN.

The judge even agrees on that being a huge mistake and likely why they lost. The jury also didn’t hear about the full proof suffocation searches, or how Casey told her inmate friend what Caylee was found buried in (the info was never made public). They never brought her out to testify. They thought they had a slam dunk and phoned it in and it ended up biting them in the ass.

    • @DonnaJean-le9ev
      @DonnaJean-le9ev 11 місяців тому +3

      The crime scene photos were innoculus for the most part. The trunk of her car smelled like death, but the jury believed it was “pizza” that had been left to rot in a hot garage, and when Caylee was finally found months later, weather and wildlife had destroyed anything of value to research. The duct tape used to secure the bag around her neck was found to be from the same roll of tape in the Anthony’s garage, just as the big black plastic bag was identified as the one in their garage. Coincidence, right? The shovel she borrowed from the neighbor. Nothing unusual there. Her computer’s history showed that she was googling info about chloroform. Really? Just coincidental, certainly. For an entire month she ran the streets of Orlando telling anyone who asked where Caylee was that she was with Zani the nanny. LOL. Are we talking about XANAX? Listening to her conversations to her parents from jail were as insulting and indignant as they come. As if she was insulted by their questions or offering their support. Remember how she spoke to them? But the coop-de-grace was bringing her father into the “kill” by blaming him for Caylee’s drowning death and responsibility for hiding Caylee’s body in a vacant lot just down the street from their home. And, let's not forget her new release of info where her father had consistently sexually assaulted her throughout her childhood and how much she hated him. That all but cost the poor man his life by suicide. She had absolutely NO REGARD WHATSOEVER of who she was rolling over and to what extent. Pure, unmitigated EVIL. From jump, she lied to LE about her job, taking them the ENTIRE WAY TO DISNEY to where she USED TO SIT, only to get there and say, JUST KIDDING. I used to work here a few years ago and now I don't, but what do you think of the office? And it continued to get worse, more triumpfic lies on top of more lies, yet, the jury couldn't seem to make the connection. THAT ALONE I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND. If ever a case went this far off the tracks, it's gone unreported. Hell, even OJ Simple made “less worse” BS up for his defense of killing 2 innocent people, but we all know his defense wasn't called the dream-team for nothing. Found innocent and then went on to write a book titled “ IF I DID IT”, confessions of a killer. WTF😮!
      This entire case got to be so convoluted because this was the first of its kind in that area, and frankly, I don’t think they knew how to deal with something like CA and her sociopathic behavior as it goes completely against the grain of what a mother is and isn’t supposed to be, and killing your child in this fashion, discarding her like trash, happy emotion, ain’t life great attitude is SO FAR beyond abnormal that a normal brain can’t comprehend it. 15 yrs later, we’re beginning to get used to hearing about these barbaric creatures and what they’re not only capable of, but actually enjoy(LOVE) the violent pain and suffering they dream about doesn’t freak ya out, nothing can. Normalcy has become something many of us no longer recognize or ever knew, worsening generationally like everything else we thought we knew. We’ve become “misfits” of society if we don’t conform to today’s society and expectations, and on the fast track. There isn’t enough money is this world that I would accept to be 20 again. I feel sorry for the newly married couple, just starting out with big dreams and a determined heart, busting their asses to get where they want to be, for a minute, and having the ever looming threat of crisis hanging over their heads wondering what happened? How? The great United States is now a 3rd world country, bare bones on every level, and then the question we ask out loud. Do we want to bring another helpless, innocent victim into this mess we call our world, our lives, constantly on a slippery slope of a healthy existence or one that bounces us around like a beach ball? Our morals and values as a whole nation have deteriorated quicker than I think anyone could have ever imagined. And these cases like Casey Anthony, OJ Simple, that make us scratch our heads in disbelief as it’s so very obvious who did what, yet, with enough money for defense and your stature in society will determine the outcome for you. I hate it. I don’t understand it, and I don’t want to understand it.

      Yep, the jury didn't actually "get it wrong' - the prosecution got it wrong. Shouldn't have sought death penalty, either, without an actual known cause of death. I watched an interview with a juror not that long ago who said they did believe Casey was responsible but without an actual cause of death there was enough reasonable doubt that it wasn't what she was charged with - murder 1. The juror stated to this day he does think the pool was somehow involved which is what the defense was saying. The defense planted just enough "reasonable doubt". There wasn't a way to prove that Caylee didn't go in the pool and drown and Casey panicked and covered it up. One last thing was that some of the internet searches were not revealed to the jury that they also said would have made a difference in their verdict - they didn't know there was a search for "foolproof suffocation" on the day Caylee went missing. They were told about a search for chloroform but Cindy Anthony said that she made the search and meant to search for chlorophyll. Jose Baez said he was shocked the prosecution never brought up the "foolproof suffocation" search.

    This case is a good example of how a case can be ruined. I also believe that the mother is to blame and if this had been handled very carefully from the beginning and at each stage of processing the case, we wouldn't be here now. Likewise, this is a good example of how things always get distorted when the information does not come from reliable evidence or a primary source and lying can be ruled out. By the way, I also feel particularly bad about thinking of children as victims at Christmas time. Christmas is especially a holiday for children and it is heartbreaking that someone has to experience the most terrible thing while others are rejoicing around them.

It's sad that people actually believe that she must have been sexually abused otherwise how could she be how she is well it's because she is a psychopath I think 🤔 she was born 🦆 DUCKED UP and then her enabling family members ESPECIALLY HER MOTHER took what little humanity that evil cockroach had!!! The lead prosecutor did a terrible job prosecuting this case. He was cocky and went in assuming he had this case in the bag. He should have never tried to prove the cause of death (saying mom made chloroform) with no way to prove it. He put an unnecessary burden on the state by doing that. Many cases are successfully prosecuted with no cause of death Scott Peterson being a perfect example. Good prosecutors have gotten convictions in cases where no body was ever found.

    • @jenp3752
      @jenp3752 11 місяців тому +3

      Exactly! And shouldn't have sought death penalty. I'm not sure they knew that Casey's mom would take the stand and say she made the chloroform searches but that is what Cindy said on the stand. She said she meant to search for "chlorophyll". For some reason the prosecution never even brought up the searches for "fool proof suffocation" - the jurors didn't learn about that until after the trial was over and said it would have made a difference. The prosecution messed up.

We got thousands of people killing kids every single day legally, enslaving them legally, abusing them legally, being used as pawns for political donation dollars legally, the United States's children are some of the least protected in the entire world.... So if you actually wanna do something, do something. But letting Casey live rent free in your head is just a cheerleader shouting at the cheerline that there's a problem, why don't you actually do something. You think you're such a great person, when was the last time you adopted a kid that needed a place to live… Or even made a phone call to be inquisitive. I'm sure there's some ice cream in the freezer, why don't you just go get that and sit back down and not worry about it.

    Where are the photographs? my slogan about American Justice, “if Justice ever happens, it’s usually by accident, and for the all the wrong reasons.” All the public can do is guess whether or not this woman committed a crime. The fact that they are guessing is nothing short of sickening. To label someone a murderer on a guess is as cruel as the murder itself. These true crime story addicts, have a warped sense about crime, justice, and fairness.
