These foundations are awesome. I grew up in one and I know quite a few people with them. They are dry, straight, no mold, no rot, easy to drywall and have full 8' high ceilings.
The only people that don't like them are concrete guys and lazy home inspectors.

My concern with a basement like this isn't so much water intrusion as it is mice and insect intrusion. Critters can't chew through concrete, but they love to chew threw wood.

My house is built this way, it's 50 years old and in northern WI. Large overhangs are a big plus, my eaves are 32 inches. I have over 30 years in the building trades, and would recommend this method to anyone.

I like the way they call CCA-treated wood "safe for humans and for the environment". The obvious question for those who can't use CCA anymore is how permanent basements made with ACQ or some other still accepted preservative, will be. Will they last as long as the basements built when this clip, which looks more 1970s than 1980s (note the Ford Granada and the mostly tube TV at the end), was made?
