  • Picked up this 12 valve 1st gen D250 a couple months ago and its been a big headache. But in this video we have reached a big milestone for the ole girl. Stayed tuned for more content on the 1st gen. Big Plans!!!

    That’s my old truck I bought it to pull the motor out then ended up buying a different one with a manual I did not do any work to it besides try to get it started and then I lost interest in it

      Same here lost interest in it but the guy that has it now has it looking real good. Props to him. The ve pump was the problem.

    Ether in a diesel is a no go. Better to use diesel in a squirt bottle set to mist.

      I disconnected the grid heater. But yes its bad for it like any engine, even gas engines.

      It's not as bad for gas engines but for diesels it's a killer. It's a fast burning fuel entering a slow fuel burning engine.

      Well, rings expand when they get hot or too hot sometimes. A fast burning fuel in large quantities in a diesel will make a lot of heat and pre-ignition. Ether eats the top of the pistons leaving pin holes in it and it can make enough heat to expand your rings too much to where the gap closes up and a piece of the ring snaps off.

      The kdp didnt move too much so I left that one in and just installed the kit. I heard so many stories and I dont want to be the one to tell the story lol. 😂😂
