  • PIEDOD is an acronym helping us to remember the ITIL 4 Service Value Chain activities. It stands for “Plan”, “Improve”, “Engage”, “Design & Transition”, “Obtain or Build” and “Deliver and Support”.
    The Value Streams we can define in an organization will be a customized “journey” through the Service Value Chain activities.

      Good job, wish this was included in the video

      I believe the 'I' stands for "Improve" in the context of Service Value Chain activities. On the other hand, "Continual Improvement" is a practice. I had a question on a practice exam asking which of the following were not SVC activities, and "Continual Improvement" was the correct answer since it is a practice.

    I've read the book, have the app, but everything just ran together. I have a lot of certifications, but this one is very dry. These videos helped logically separate, in a simplistic manor, the concepts, application, and progressions of. These are appreciated. Thank you.

    I understand the meaning of "design" part, but not "transition". What does transition means? What is transitioned and where?

    • @valueinsights
      @valueinsights  3 роки тому +10

      Thanks a lot for your question, it is a very valid one.
      Transition is all about making sure that our servies or products are made available in the different einvironments.
      E.g. we might have a DEV, TEST and PROD environment for our business apps and Transition would ensure, that whatever is developed on DEV is then moved to TEST and then to PROD.
      The practies being involved here strongly would be Deployment Management and Release Management.
      So basically, Transistion is about transitioning pur services and products from one status to the next throughout their lifecycle. From ideation, to operation, to retirement.
      Hope this helps, oterwise please let me know.
      Cheers,
      Alex

    Where was SLA defined ? am I missing something or this is really
    a term thrown in there without being defined at all ?

    • @valueinsights
      @valueinsights  Рік тому +1

      Hi Esther
      The SLA is an official term in ITIL 4 and can be found in official course materials and glossary.
      I have also put it in this video series in this video:

      Thanks for the note. Unfortunately, it seems that for some reason the auto-subtitle generation feature of UA-cam does not work on this video.
      I tried to find a solution for it, but UA-cam only tells me that the audio quality might be insufficient or that my speech is not rtecognizable by their AI.
      I am sorry about that.
      Best Regards,
      Alex
