Some of these hills you guys climbing seems to be a lot steeper than the footage makes it to be. It's all good fun..., isn't it 🤗 Thumbs up from the Czech Republic 👍
How's that for timing Tom, I just put a deposit down on one yesterday.....my mate has a 2010 800 tiger XC and it is amazing where we have taken that bike, and actually pulls up hills better than a DR 650. The new tiger 800 XCA got better reviews than the African twin and the new GS 850....
Great video, and great content in general Tom, the middleweight adventure bikes are really looking good ! I might even consider getting a tiger as my next bike after watching this, but for now I'm going to stick with my Speed triple, I recently did a 5200km trip to the north cape on it, what a experience I can highly recommend it. Thanks for the great content you are making!
Great video mate! What tires are you rocking? l have the same bike XCA 800 2016, what gear is the best for off-road? l find myself changing the gear too often.
Tom how does moto froggers passing still affect you to the day? I used to watch him in motor cycle complications and other vids. But how are you doing?
Omg i am quite shook is this a con for the tiger? I am starting to like this bike bru Like i shall it on the road and i sit on at a bike show yesterday loved the matte green one That rev you did at the end was sex to my ears tom 2012 R1 or this tiger The traction is really bad although your terrain is crazy haha i wont be doing anything as bad arse as you as i live in the urban jungle singapore but still lit toom cheers love your mate The only thing that sucks is the mirrors i think it's too regit
Hay Tom! Great vid. In your opinion could this bike have done the SA Desert trip you just did? If so, would you still prefer the WR250 on a trip like that?
Can you? Yes. Should you? Maybe . Triumph claims it is suited for light off road ( non sealed) only. The fragility of the plastics even without dropping my 2015 model yet at speed indicates to me that keeping the Tiger on good dirt roads is sensible. I have recently replaced cracked plastics ( beak and a few tank area bits) and the bill was $500 plus. My Tiger has been across OZ twice and lots of shorter trips ( Flinders Ranges/ Victorian Alps area) . It is a good touring bike, but I am reluctant to try anything difficult if I am riding solo. Lifting 225Kg is a two man job.
Hmmm good question, probably yes or my WR250R. I guess the main take away is that the middle weight adventure market is much more appealing to me now after riding this bike. I’ve very excited for the upcoming ktm 790 adventure and Yamaha tenere 700 now.
Non-Tiger related question: your helmet seems to be Shoei Hornet (X2)? Have you been happy with it? I am probably going to need new lid after this riding season and only complaint for Hornet which I have heard is that it can be bit hot. Has that been problem for you (if that ain't problem for someone in Australia, it probably ain't for me here in cold north)?
I love it, super quiet, great visibility, not super super light or crazy ventilation like an mx helmet but I’ve ridden across Death Valley in it just fine
Can you testride a Zero bike, please? I'm not that into buying a petrol powered bike anymore and would like to see a review of someone who has knowledge in that topic.
Hey tom, try out this aussie coolant called liquid intelligence, we use it in our wr450f and have not had a single over heating issue since (no thermal fan either)
Just put in pure water if you want best cooling but it's obviously gonna split the engine if it freezes and it's gonna corrode it as well so you should not let it sit with the water in. For racing we fill before and empty the bikes after every day
yeah we could only ride our 2014 450f for about 30 min before needing to stop before you changed it over, now it goes for hours on end. heres a link if you want :) liquidintelligence.com.au/products/motorcycle-super-waterless-coolant
GRIFF2142 Well.. There was another big waterless cooler brand which had such wild claims but it is mostly bogus. To cut it short the main problem with waterless coolant is that is doesn't cool as good as water. Well, really nothing we could use in a bike cools as good as pure water. Sure, these coolants do not boil over but the point of your cooling system is to cool and protect your engine and not to protect itself. Just because your coolant does not boil over does not mean your engine gets enough cooling. Actually the water boiling is at a temperature where your engine is already too hot and the boiling itself removes a lot of heat since energy is needed to convert water into steam. This is sort of a last resort to keep your engine safe since you usually turn it off at that point. Hope this is somewhat understandable
GRIFF2142 And I'm sorry but taking a quick look at that website.. The test with the hotplate they show is bullshit. Throwing a tiny bit of the two liquids at once on a hotplate that is already hot is.. doing whatever. Certainly not testing heat capacity. This is how to do it properly: ua-cam.com/video/n51CEMX7nEo/v-deo.html The fact that they don't know how to do proper testing or just plainly try to fool customers with this tells me their product is likely overpriced and a heap of crap. From people riding the old "nano technology" bandwagon I'd expect to know basic physics and chemistry. I'd strongly advise against buying this just from seeing that horrible website and wild claims. Sorry mate, but no. You can just buy propelyne glycol and use that as coolant to stop it boiling, it's a lot cheaper. But still shit for the engine. If you want a real solution mount a fan or get a bigger radiator.
Loves abit of Wombat/Lerderderg action. Shame about what the VEAC are now trying to get the state government to do with our state forrests. #SaveWombatStateForrest
Probably the definitive Tiger 800 XC capability ride out there. Thanks!
Thats one of the best offroad review i have seen for the Tiger..Good job mate
OMG that ending! Dont worry Triumph, it was just sound effects!
Low k's hardly used.
Hi Nerb do you know where this is? It looks like a great place for a bit of a mini adventure.
Haha nothing wrong with a bit of rev bashing, she loved it
No I dont. Tom keeps is a secret, and Im the last person he will tell!
Nerb1 I had to try, thanks anyway
Some of these hills you guys climbing seems to be a lot steeper than the footage makes it to be.
It's all good fun..., isn't it 🤗
Thumbs up from the Czech Republic 👍

Absolutely loved that bike!
Hahahahah, that end scene!

We need more side view shots of your hill climbs Tom because man GoPro's do such a great job making them look flat hahaha
Love that sound
Great video, and great content in general Tom, the middleweight adventure bikes are really looking good !

Tom how does moto froggers passing still affect you to the day? I used to watch him in motor cycle complications and other vids. But how are you doing?
Thinking about upgrading from a crf250l to this now
Overall she did alright!

7:00 isnt that the spot where Tom got attacked by a kookaburra? hahaha
Omg i am quite shook is this a con for the tiger? I am starting to like this bike bru

Pls do more on the 450!!!!
Hay Tom! Great vid. In your opinion could this bike have done the SA Desert trip you just did? If so, would you still prefer the WR250 on a trip like that?
Yeah I reckon I could do the Simpson or googs track on this, it is much better off-road then something like a bmw r1200 gsa
You make it look too easy....nice vid.
Man, looked like a good bike until that ending!
Almost 3 years since our brother has left this earth...
Rip Seb
(Ride in peace)
One two magoo!! Success!

Awesome review Tom! One question, if you could have only one bike, would you want this one?
Hmmm good question, probably yes or my WR250R. I guess the main take away is that the middle weight adventure market is much more appealing to me now after riding this bike. I’ve very excited for the upcoming ktm 790 adventure and Yamaha tenere 700 now.
No exact answer is also an answer...👎
Yep ...love my 955...it hates the mud though ☹ But Tom what are your thoughts on Norton Atlas 650 ..100hp version touted.
Never heard of it until now!

Can you testride a Zero bike, please? I'm not that into buying a petrol powered bike anymore and would like to see a review of someone who has knowledge in that topic.
u should get a car, not a bike in this case...
Well, The rev limiter works.
Seb will say only u can brother
"it's not my bike, I don't wanna go to hard on it" ...then proceeds to! Check out the ending to see what the Tiger can do on single track & 'goo' !!
Hey tom,
try out this aussie coolant called liquid intelligence, we use it in our wr450f and have not had a single over heating issue since (no thermal fan either)
Sweet I’ll check it out, the coolant is still stock from 2012 so it’s really needs a flush

What a silly question. You can offroad a Harley if you want to. The question is just if you should or not, and whether it'll try to kill you.
elephant off-road...sums it up
Why’s it sound like there’s a hole in the air box
Still can't get into the sound of a triple.. but nice riding nonetheless.
Pls remember it's more than 200 kilos and not a dirt bike so never take it into wetlands
1, 2, Magoo....?!
Your dad didn’t use to say that aswell?
Maybe just yours Tom.
