First thing you’ll notice after the cutscene is the objective is essentially a multiplayer match where you have to capture and hold the command posts as the enemy tickets drain. This can be a easy/tough mission depending entirely on how many of your forces remained from the previous one as well as how aggressive you are on map control. It is entirely possible to win without having to lose a single point so long as you hold 2 command posts at all times. You’ll only start to win by holding 3 points while 4 will drastically decrease how long it will take to get the job done. To make this mission easier it’s best that you know what to expect and where. To start off, there’s actually two Axis bases located in the corners of the map. Both are protected by 2 anti-tank guns, mortars, and landmines. While it’s ideal to destroy them as soon as possible, you want to focus on securing the command points first. You’ll start off with one on the top of the hill while the surrounding ones will remain neutral unit either you or the AI start capturing them. There’s one by the abbey where you rescued the Ranger squad previously. Another is to the North of the hill, guarded by Flak 88s so wait till you handle those. Then last, but not least, there’s another point to capture on the right side of the hill (be careful it’s guarded by a single Flak 88). I personally prefer to rush my snipers down to there so I can eliminate that Flak 88 crew while a squad of riflemen can capture the point. If they are vet 3 they can move at full speed in camouflage mode, otherwise, you’ll want to alternate between the flak’s shots so they aren’t killed instantly. Once you have that point secured you can just leave the two snipers nearby and they’ll ensure nobody captures the point. Meanwhile, I send the three tanks the game gives out at the start of the mission as well as some spare riflemen to ensure the abbey is secure. Just remember to micro and secure those points to get the countdown going. What the AI send is random, but they’re limited to certain buildings and units. You will only encounter Grenadiers, Pioneers, Pumas, Stugs, Pak 38s, Mortars (at the bases), and a few SS (only at the start). While knowing they have two bases is intimidating at first glance, that can be used against them. Kill enough of them fast enough and they’ll be forced to send only Pioneers due to resource burn. The ai will throw themselves at the hill within the first 2 minutes of gameplay. Hold the lines and they’ll be vulnerable to attack. Once a production building is destroyed the ai will lose access to the units produced from them. When it comes to knocking out those three 88 batteries near the right base, all it takes is one sniper to spot for off-map artillery and you’re set. You can try to snipe the crews off as well, but try to do so from a safe angle so they can’t get a shot off. Afterwards your sniper can run along the hedges to spot for off-map arty to destroy the Sturm Armory. Now watch how it’s done as I knock out this mission in just 16 minutes. Enjoy!
Thanks for the long explanation and this really helps me out.. i'm really stuck hard here, overwhelmed by the enemy incoming from every direction. Thanks a lot for this walkthrough :)
Using the snipers like that to lockdown a command point and to spot for artillery was brilliant! Excellent time too. Didn't know this mission could be beaten so fast on expert.
Excellent work. Complete domination is always nice to see. Did it myself a few times on a few maps in CoH2 against the AI in team battles. Those 500 points never went down.
This mission was always so chaotic for me. Even with a good force left over from the previous mission it's still tough if you don't capture those points early. Enemy really digs in and will send their units all over the map afterward. Containment nightmare, but it seems that's not so much the issue if you keep them from taking the points.
It can very easily spiral out of control if you allow the AI to grab up too much territory. Then it's essentially trying to deal with their base, the points, and protecting your base at the same time.
Those two anti-tanks bugged in his base xD. In my save both are waiting me to kill my crocodile cleaning the mines and my two other tanks can not kill them before being killed xD A bit of luck is allways welcome... ------ Few days after, with your vídeo I managed to destroy one of the axis bases and used your strategy puting all troops behind the point control on the mountain and it worked very well.
@@StarMarshal pretty sure it's off map support, 5 ostwinds and panzers rush my HQ at the start of the mission. I destroyed the base up top and they keep showing up from nowhere. I am genuinely wondering if it is a bug; because I have not seen it elsewhere.
That was very fast, I spammed MG Emplacements in the mission before but that actually seemed to make this mission harder since the enemy seemed to start with more tanks due to that, also they attacked my base instead of just funneling them into my AT guns on the hill (that happened when I did not build any MG Emplacements
I'm struggling on this one because I was an absolute mess in the previous mission. I should probably restart :P It's radically different from what I see here actually, and I'm only playing on normal. I get spammed with panzers and get destroyed in the first minute of mission.
Hey Marshal, Please make KOTOR 2 walkthrough (dark side), I have been waiting for so long! appreciate your effort. Though if you wanted to do it.. do it with the restore content mod as well.
One day I shall. Most likely early next year. I will be doing a dark and light side series back to back like last time. Then I'll do a canon run for both games using mods/restoration content.
has the difficulty increased since you made this video? Im playing on expert and Literally at the 2 min mark the abbey is attacked by 3 panzers and multiple infantry squads, soon after another group of panzers rush down the main road, beelined to my HQ and 1 panzer and 2 squads attack the HQ from the north. Whilst the hill is attacked from every side. i was watching this at the beginning thinking like where are all the panzers????
@@Kenco657 not a chance. This game is almost 20 years old. Support and updates haven't been around since the sequel in 2013 rolled out.
