Love to see wagons and be reborn again here in the US. Can't wait to see your hands on review/comparison on both and probably with other wagons Sam. Keep up the good work!👍
The Mercedes seems to be more of the same with very conservative design changes. Volvo has gone all in with a timeless unique look that sets it apart from any competitors currently out. They are now also up to par in the premium feel, offers and materials. They have dare I say it... managed to make Volvo sexy. For the first time I'd easily pick the Volvo over not only the Mercedes but any of the current germans in the same class.
Don't understand, why wagons are not so fancy in north America. Compared to the sedan I usually even prefer the optics... They are more versatile, than a sedan - I simply can put my bike in, or all my photo-gear. And the driving characteristic is still much better, than a SUV... ok - depends on what characteristic you prefer (sporty vs. couch on wheels)... and this character probably is less obvious on long straight highways, than on European overland-streets and high-speed driving on German autobahns. Here SUV are usually driven by soccer-moms for transporting lots of kits or parking in the second-lane in the city ;-) While man are driving the sport-wagons.
perhaps there will be a V90 Polestar to compete against the uber e62/63 AMG (when/if it releases)...I am saddened that the CUV has displaced the wagons in the NA/US market...I miss the Legacy GT Wagon of the early/mid 2000s (manual) and wish I had bought that instead of my GTI...what is even more sad, all of these cars are moving away from the driving experience, hence the safety aides to save texting drivers, and I think this is their Achilles heal...if the manufacturers bring back the driver experience, these cars/wagons will have no problem selling in healthy numbers...but you HAVE to make people want these or at least want to drive and be seen in them for them to be a success...if I had the bank roll, I would have one of each of these wagons...
Then you should try the BMW 3-series, Audi A4, Volvo V60 or Mercedes c-class. In Europe the are all avalible as wagons with +300 hp. If you need some extra space you have BMW m5, Audi S6 and Mercedes AMG as wagons.
Both are fine examples of estates that I would own, I don't think Detroit could pull off an equally impressive example. Ford should have held onto Volvo.
Glad I subbed to this channel. You always great reviews and good commentary as well. Also, I love estates and wagons. Just bought a 2015 Subaru outback 2.5i Limited and loving it so far. Thumbs up!

We need more hatches and wagons!
Mercedes looks great but something about the new Volvo look I just really like.
The E400 is much more luxurious, but it is also much more expensive when fully loaded with options and packages.
An a6 wagon, while a bit less spec'd out would be an option for me.
Why you don't compare with E900?
Talk about more trucks
Yes, wished we had a 5 series wagon. Also a Buick Regal wagon would be great.
5 series has been here for years. i see lots of them every day
Not the current (6th) generation F10 series.

+Paul Paplinski thats weird, because i see them all the time here.
Sedans, yes. Wagons, no.
no, wagons. maybe there are none in usa. but there are a lot of them in europe. if you dont belive me, just search on google pictures

Ford ruined Volvo. Geely is much much better owner.
As I said, Ford should have held onto Volvo - irony is now they have customer service with people you can't understand built in.
The Buick Regal TourX is looking pretty good too.
American cars and trucks dont come close.

Wished they offer the Legacy wagon here. I don't like the high ride height.
V90 looks beautiful
Both are great luxury cars.
can't wait to see drive tests
Don't forget the Ford Flex! A wagon with luxury appointments and 365 HP (with the Turbo 6).
