Thx Matt Kennard for the immensely important work you do. I'm a former NATO Allied Army Major. Spent most of the 90s in war and conflict zones but quit - after 20 years - in 2003 realizing where Bush/Blair were going after 9/11 - invading Iraq based on lies - and dragging other NATO member states along. I'm appalled by US abuse of hegemon position and agree with most of Jill Steins standpoints. Would definitely vote for her if I was American.
Let me elaborate a bit. I volunteered a private conscript 1983, worked my way up the ranks studying US foreign policy, International politics, Macro economics, Public administration, Administrative law, History, Sociology, Psychology and a few other things at the side. In '91 my country began extensively sending military contributions to International missions promoting "freedom in Peace" ideals. Jumped at the opportunity quite idealisticly to do my bit improving conditions for people where I went. India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Tadjikistan - former Soviet, Afghanistan and multiple Balkan missions both UN and Nato service. Gotta say enthusiasm faded along the way. Being used as eyes and ears for monitoring, acting as a proxy law/border enforcement, witnessing atrocities, discriminatory behavior and aid being misused - Mostly for guised political purposes. I saw how the void after the Soviet collapse was used as an economic opportunity instead of assisting rebuilding robust fair societies, how narratives were twisted and propagandized for selfish political and elitist interests. Somalia, Rwanda and Balkan experiences seemed to kill off some countries aspirations to improve conditions for humanity. The aftermath of 9/11 doubling down on dominance and exploitation was the final straw already disillusioned at the time. Glad I quit - affairs only getting worse, corruption, rampant inequality, environmental carnage and increasing misery as years passed. Bank bailouts with no accountability, no change in lobbied governance and heavyweight government appointments leaving average people suffering after 2008 crash made me loose any confidence left in Western government establishments. Corporate control of MSM and Citizens United ruling 2010 is a disaster not only for US. Pseudo-democratic countries are transforming to neo-feudal corporatocracies. Something needs done urgently.

I'm Scottish but it horrifies me that many of my American acquaintances are voting Harris and will brook zero discussion. They are so terrified of Trump that they refuse to see that the Dems are simply one side of an identical coin. Jill Stein is America's only chance but the permanent State will never allow an incorruptible President. The UK is proving the same point with our new right of Tory government under State puppet Starmer.
