I just came across your packing videos today and found them extremely useful! I pack very similarly to the way you do but the part about using a resizer tool was the key for me. I have to give USPS some props. A seller shipped my item on Thursday and it arrived today (Saturday.) I can't complain about ground advantage 2-day transit from Ohio to North Carolina.
@@WellnessWizdom the stars aligned. There are too many reported incidence of 10 days or more shipping time with the package dropping off the tracking radar. Worst part is theres no explaination from USPS. Members of congress obsess with rural areas having a day added to letters mailed at 5 PM.
Same! I shipped 2 books Media Mail on Fri.12/20 (MA > GA and IL) and they both arrived on Tues.12/24! I was shocked! Was crossing my fingers the whole time because one of the buyers had included a note on his order that he'd be willing to pay more to get it there before Xmas. (I didn't see the note until *after* I shipped it out... and I always offer 4 different shipping options but they 99.9% they just go with the default option.)
You need to build costs into the item price. Please read this as: "Your cost of goods sold needs to be low enough to allow for ebay fees, packing, warehousing, and other associated expenses and still leave you some money"
I do. I use the overage I collect on shipping to purchase shipping supplies. Say over a month I Collect $150 for shipping, but only spend $100 on labels, I have $50 to purchase shipping supplies.

You should use the Walmart bread bags for hats. 100 for $4. Much smaller, easier to work with.
Newspaper bags work well also.
I've got it. The ebay algorithm is punishing you because it sees your extended delivery time (due to usps). 😅

How is it lame? Unless you like losing money, you either add it to the shipping cost or you add it to the cost of the item.
