I must say this is best rendition after my father Late Sri S.Rajam who has sung all koteeswara Iyer kritis in his life time. He has mastered them as his mission to propagate Sri Koteedwsra Iyer who resided near our house in Mylapore.
Sriranjani excelled I even wonder she out smarted my late father in few places. Though he trained many, none could sing to this level is my strong opinion. Wish he is alive in 2017 to hear her singing this. Great tribute to both him and Koteeswara Iyer.
Accompanying artists played so sensitively too 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Very nice rendition that is sadly not quite well supported by the mridangam. I understand the accompaniment for this song has to be delicate, but it has to accompany. The first several sangatis, there is practically nothing coming from the mridangam. Same thing could be said for the charanam....really, come on...it almost seems like a sabotage. The young singer is putting everything into it, and the rhythm is practically absent. Unfair to the singer.
very well said. The mridangam accompaniment is really poor. He instead embellishing the mood of song, destroys the whole beauty of it by not tuning the left side of the instrument and playing soulless beats.

The Worst part of this video is the Mridangam. He is making unpleasant sounds in the Mridangam. No Nadam only sound coming !!! He is also trying to control the speed its annoying and breaking the flow.

Though mrudangam was perfect his attitude initially was not appreciable as he not only didn't play but just laughing menacingly at the artist as if she is at fault in rhythm. She was par excellence.

I think the Mridangist is doing a phenomenal job. Just absorbing the mood and accompanying gently so the rasika can sink into the mood of the song. There’s beauty to just vocals and a break from accompanists.

@@pradsalem1027 His job is to enhance the beauty of the song not just absorbing the mood. The left side of the mridangam is totally not in tune and following is very bad.
