      Well said and huge thanks to Dr Peterson. He sometimes admits to, or acknowledges, having a temper, but it's the deep emotion and passion within him that he has managed to channel that makes his message so powerful and genuine.

    Jordan Peterson is the great philosopher of our day. People will read him as the person who laid postmodernism to rest in 500 years.

    • @JavierBT90
      @JavierBT90 6 років тому +11

      I love JBP, but he is no philosopher. He has problems explaining some of his points, specially the ones regarding truth precisely because he is not trained in philosophy.
      And besides, he is very much using postmodernism when he talks about meaning. Watch his lecture on phenomenology and Heidegger and then watch videos about Derrida. He arrived at his pragmatic approach to truth precisely because of Derrida's critique.

    • @lachlanbell8390
      @lachlanbell8390 6 років тому +40

      He's frequently said that postmodernism's central observation - that there's an infinite number of subjective interpretations of reality - is fundamentally true, and that's why it presents such a problem.
      I don't have any difficulties understanding the concepts he's trying to convey. As far as I can tell, that's primarily because I'm listening with the intention of understanding the ideas he's attempting to articulate, without getting hung up on the semantics of whether he's using a word somewhat differently to how others might use it.
      The fact is that he's trying to articulate concepts for which we don't yet have words. Thus, he has to use existing words in a way they're not normally used. When you listen to his explanations in their full context and with an open mind, it's not difficult to understand. In saying this I guess I should acknowledge (for context, not bragging) that I do fall towards the upper limit of the bell curve for IQ, and I often find myself able to understand implications of ideas that others don't see.
      The crux of his impasse with Harris in their first discussion, for example, is because he was trying to convey a concept which doesn't have a dedicated word. He used "truth" as a placeholder, because of the words we have it's the closest approximation for what he means. Perhaps we will see a new word coined to denote the concept in Peterson's theory - but until that happens, his idea is no less valid for the English language's lack of a noun to identify it.

      I find myself compelled to watch every JBP interview, because even when 95% thoughts are the same as previous videos there is often 5% that is new, where his thinking has evolved. Like the thoughts about, why the left can't seem to face the evil's of socialism. It has been a mystery to me most of my life, whey they ignore the evidence and keep trying the same old socialistic approach.

      The Esterhazy family are a sadistic noble bloodline of Austria and Hungary. They are a Roman Catholic imperial nobility with close ties to the Vatican and Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The Esterhazy family obtained wealth as loyal servants of Rome and the House of Habsburg as well as from inheriting wealth through marriages; like with the Thurzo family which did business with the Fugger family. The House of Habsburg provided the family with Forchtenstein Castle which is known for having torture chambers. The family turned the fortress into a treasury and likely were provided this castle for their willingness to use torture on the Habsburg's enemies. Gyorgy Thurzo was the one who sentenced the serial killer Elizabeth Bathory to prison which was only because she was too reckless and got caught. Elizabeth Bathory was suspected of murdering hundreds of girls and bathing in their blood. The House of Habsburg are Roman Catholic and have continually been members of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta because they work for Rome and the Black Nobility. The Vatican and Eastern European noble families were known for using torture and being sadistic with Vlad the Impaler and the Vatican's Inquisition. Este primarily means east. The royal and noble families still use torture today however they are even more secretive. They have developed electronic weapons also called Directed Energy Weapons used to covertly torment those who oppose their fascist takeover. The Vatican and the royal families are historically the most murderous group on the planet. Estee Lauder's family was from Hungary and they named her for the Este family which they serve. Ronald Lauder was a US ambassador to Austria and is worth over 3 billion. His brother Leonard Lauder is worth about 10 billion. was Some members of this family include Prince Anton II de Galante Esterhazy, Prince Paul-Anton VI de Galante Esterhazy, Count Janos de Galante Esterhazy, Count Endre Esterhazy, Countess Christine Esterhazy, Count Peter Esterhazy, and Count Martin Esterhazy. The Esterhazy family owns Slovak mafias which are involved in assassinations and human trafficking.
      The Esterhazy family originates from the ancient Aesti clan which gave Estonia its name and are probably related with the Este and Hesse families which share similar etymological name meanings. The Welf-Este families claim to be from the Aesti region. The Aesti clan were located on the "Amber Road" named for the amber trade. Amber is a resin gemstone that is usually cloudy or hazy and was considered precious in ancient times. This is where the Esterhazy family gained their original wealth and power from. They traded amber for gold and silver. The nobility of the Byzantine Empire later migrated into the west as Rome was being rebuilt. The term shill comes from the former Austrian currency called the schilling. Royal and noble families owned the majority of the gold and silver. Then they finance and employ agents to establish banks and businesses for them as proxies. They still operate this way today. Bela Esterhazy de Galantha is a Swiss educated banker and works for Bank Gutmann AG in Vienna which has branches in Switzerland. The Esterhazy family specialize in causing mental haziness or confusion. They pay shills to spread confusion and blur truth with lies to create a layer of protection for the royal and noble families which are involved in torture, murder, and pedophilia. They work with the Hungarian Erdody family which purchased their Vienna palace. Count Ferenc of Erdody is a member of this family. Graf Leonhard von Harrach is a member of Austrian-German nobility. Countess Christine Esterhazy is probably as wicked as the Blood Countess Elizabeth Bathory was. Joe Eszterhas is a Hungarian-American involved in Hollywood and relative of this family. Many of the royal and noble families put their agents in Hollywood. Count Janos de Galante Esterhazy is the current Receiver of the Common Treasure also called the Minister of Finance for the Sovereign Order of Malta located in Rome. Count Janos de Galante Esterhazy is a link between Rome and the Austrian nobility and their wealth which is used to finance the criminal agendas of the Black Nobility.

      Thanks. I will definitely check out the ABC radio piece. Perhaps Richard Fidler will be the three find for me? I'm a bit overwhelmed at this point. I found the video presentation about God sending Abraham out into the world away from his family etc, etc. to be stunning in its psychological analysis of this biblical story. Dr. Peterson is here now for a reason I believe - we simply must pull away from the lies and stand against this lunacy.

      Yea these are the good ones. This man has VAST knowledge that he doesn't get to exercise a lot because people have just looking to him for his political views. When you hear him open up its like holy shit this man has spent a shit load of time on these subjects and is extremely well read. And his experience of thousands and thousands of hours with clients that are basically in the cracks and crevices of society simply cannot be overlooked.
      He knows A LOT about the human condition. Id recommend his Maps of Meaning 2017 lectures on his youtube page... You get to see him in his element talking about profound shit that will change your life guaranteed. If you finish that watch his Personality 2017 lectures. He goes wayyyy more in depth on all these topics in his lectures than could ever be covered in an interview

    I attended JPs Sydney talk. Full, brilliant begun and ended with a standing ovation. What I wanted to share is that he stayed until well past midnight (I believe near 1am) signing books, didn't turn anyone down. Spoke to each, shook their hand and encouraged each of them. For the cynical, I did not purchase the book that night, I brought my own copy as had many. He's real, he is concerned, how could he not be emotional. Thank you JP, I'm doing my best to be responsible, and "grow the hell up".

      I'm no expert but I think being a politician is quite restrictive actually. Unaffiliated thinkers are free to spread their message on every platform, whereas politicians need to run everything by their counsel, and have to curtail the ire of the media and their voters. It's a sh*t job, I don't get why people would covet it. I say let benevolent smart people run free. As for politicians, they only need to be smart enough to listen to the JBPs of the world.

    I'm so glad that I have had the privilege of discovering JP in this day and age, and that there is a wonderfully intelligent and eloquent man who can speak the words that everybody with half a brain cell to rub together has desperately wanted to hear. Truly one of the few voices of reason.. Can't wait to read his book, 12 rules.

    Dr. Peterson is Godsend. It's like three tenors popularized classical opera to a mass population. Hope more young people will get on the wagon. Hope it's a movement to clear the mind of people.

    In regards to the fostering of the evolution of collective human consciousness, Jordan Peterson is to western civilization what Martin Luther King was to the civil rights movement. He is truly the voice that the world needs right now. His fearlessness, coupled with his knowledge of the human condition and ultimately the size of his heart is truly inspiring. The truest example of what a real leader should be.

Good enough to make me a new subscriber. Thanks for contributing your insights and observations to this discussion.

      My best friend was a Chick Girl That is such a naive view of America. America's mere presence keeps so many of those countries from either dissolving into madness and genocide, or from being overtaken by a truly evil authoritarian.
      There is a negative to any situation. Maybe a million negatives and only one positive. But that one positive can be so big that it completely outweighs the million negatives.
