When a family owes so much to one horse and you have your last ever ride together . Nita needed to retire she had become stiff from an old injury and although never a hint of complaint struggled with hours and hours travelling to demos . So here’s the last little ride and as always she never let us down and even in her last time of being ridden was helping people understand about communicating with a horses feet and how great that can be for both horse and their human

Thank you for the privilege of sharing this celebratory last ride. So much joy in remembering the past, but sadness that this chapter closes. Grateful to know that we will share more time in the future with Nita in the new chapter of her life; how precious

When I took my last ever ride on my Heart horse, it was bareback in the field all alone with only the two of us feeling each other we just wandered no "training stuff", just a heartfelt ride. not entertaining anyone it was a loving feeling between us. The next day she was put down because of her health. It was 10 years ago. The loss was so heavy I still feel it today.
Honestly, all I could think about while I was watching you ride Nita,
Isn't wonderful that you will both be in heaven together; and she'll be able to talk to you tell you how much she loves you.
And you both will have a real conversation about the lovely times you had together; and how much she was willing to give everything she had to you, because you were so good to her, and she knew you loved her.
What great memories are made here in this Earth, that you will be able to share in heaven.
People just don't understand enough about heaven to know that when our animals cross over the rainbow bridge; they're waiting on the other side to see us again.
We serve a good God who loves everything of His creation. From the children He created out of Adam and Eve, to the lovely friends God created for them to be a help, the animals for Adam.
In the beginning...
And we get to spend eternity with Christ and all of His lovely creation.
Especially the horses.

I just don’t know how Steven emotionally got through this ride. What a heart breaking and beautiful moment. I look so forward to seeing Nita as she progresses with her foaling. She is such a part of the family.

I just didn’t know you were leaving her with Charlotte, which is why I kept asking about her. I gather from what you said she was in foal … congrats Grandpa/Grandma! 😊
Must have been a bittersweet moment for your last ride with her … even though she’s only just being retired and bred. I think you said she was 20 years old … correct?
Anyhow, thank you for sharing and for the update. Glad she’s living her best life over at Charlotte’s yard. Would love to see pics of her in foal, if at all possible. 😊

Saw Nita at Blackpool, brilliant first demo for me. Lots of learming with one lady rider re-gaining confidence after your influence on her equine.

I've watched hours and hours of you on the ground with horses, teaching them to move their feet in response to your requests. This is the first time I saw it translated to what it means in the saddle, and I'm gobsmacked. It's amazing what you do, what Nita did for you, in the saddle. Deep respect to you both. And best wishes for the new mama and her soon to be foal. Wishing her godspeed through her labors, and can't wait to see the young one when it comes. xoxoxoxoxo
