He forgot to mention that it’s the Ukraine who invaded its Eastern region in 2014, because people living who are ethnic Russians simply didn’t want to be associated with facist regime of Ukraine, which the world doesn’t know anything about, because they’re all sheep, and would believe anything social media pedals out.
Also, his family are in Lviv, which is the Western Ukraine, and the war is going mostly in Eastern territories.
I didn’t want Zinchenko in the first place, because he’s an average footballer, and second of all, I didn’t want him bringing politics into football.

Quick history lesson: Since western leaders gave multiple assurances to Gorbachev in 1990-1991 promising no further westward expansion of NATO, 19 more countries have joined including Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic in 1999. Of course, with the US coup in Ukraine in 2014 they changed the Ukrainian leadership from a pro-Russian guy to an anti-Russian NATO loving puppet since then, Ukraine has bombed it's own territory, the Russian-speaking region known as the Donbass. NATO is in the arms-selling business & has a vested interest in keeping conflicts going. Of course Russia saw all this as a threat & breach of agreement with NATO (who are now right on their doorstep) and their own people being killed; they had to take action. It's not as simple as 'Russia invaded Ukraine"- you have to look at the bigger picture going back over 30 years and you'll discover it is in fact the west who have been the aggressors all along AND started this.

Zinchenko should read up on the history of his own country. .....particularly the US and UK backed overthrowing of the Ukrainian PM Yanukovych in 2015 because he was pro Russia. It is appalling how people are listening to all the anti Russia and pro Ukrainian PR being pedalled by the Western media , so for a football side to take the Ukrainian side in this is mad......keep out of politics.
You could study some Ukrainian history too. Yanukovych usurped power in 2010 with a constitutional coup, and then hijacked parliamentary elections of 2012, where he lost popular vote by 7 points and retained a comfortable majority. By the time 2014 rolled in he was an illegitimate unrepresentative usurper. Who in his wisdom made an incredibly unpopular move of breaking off EU talks and flirting with Russian Customs Union instead. Beatings, kidnappings and finally shooting on protesters sealed his fate. If Yanukovych didn't tamper with country's division of power and electoral system, prime minister Yatseniuk would've been a democratically elected head of government presiding over a pro-Western parliament already in 2012.
