- The City of Detroit was a wooden package and passenger ship that sank December 4, 1873 near Saginaw Bay Michigan. The vessel sailed into a storm and its said that it was overwhelmed by seas sending the ship to the the bottom and with 20 men aboard. The City of Detroit is upright in 180 feet of water with its stunning hogging arches. Its engine is also visible and prop and rudder. No words can explain how beautiful the work you do is.
My Dad grew up in Detroit and was in the the Navy as a Chief Engineer in 1973 on a Nuclear Submarine and spent over a decade spending every day he had off scuba diving in the Ocean around Hawaii.
I'm pretty sure he would have loved to have the kind of cameras that you do and whatever probably considered you an awesome friend. Thank You!
He sounds like a really interesting man who i'm sure we would have had a lot to talk about between Michigan the Navy, submarines and diving! I'm really glad you found my channel and are following. I adore all underwater environments, a good story of mystery, survival and even tragedy. I keep trying to tell those stories and keep history alive.
