I had a dentist say I needed a root canal 20 years ago, and I told him I wanted to think about it. I went to another dentist a week later, and said he could do the crown without a root canal and it worked fine. That was 20 years ago, and I still have the same old crown with no problems. I think it is a financial thing myself
What is upsetting is that these holistic dentists, although well-meaning, are informing us of a much healthier way to care for our teeth, yet most people cannot afford these procedures. It's unbelievable how much dentistry costs in this country. This is precisely why most people will not be able to take action with the knowledge they learn from these holistic dentists.
I have passed from both root canal which was painful upto 3 days as compared to extraction no pain just slight pain for 1 days .root canal is complex require 3 appointments.
I am a patient of Dr. Horiyat and her team and all I can say is I have hope for a future that will not include pain and suffering from my mouth due to her biologic approach to dentistry. She is repairing years of damage by traditional dentists that has affected my health in ways I am just now understanding from how everything in our body is connected and can effect our health and exacerbate existing chronic health issues. Go and visit and bring your questions and Dr Horiyat is happy to provide answers and direction.
@@srisungazesplash1340 Yes, no different than traditional dentist for insurance. I have had many procedures that have maxed out my insurance. Sadly Insurance is not much help when it comes to our dental health which makes no sense since it affects over overall health. That's the world we live in.
@@KDavidMcKee Are you saying this practice in particular has maxed out your insurance with many procedures or do you mean before you found this practice traditional dentists maxed out your insurance?
Amazing explanation of the process. By the way I don’t think you spoke much about stem cells, I believe they have been FDA approved recently, do you use that at your practice and have you noticed any differences with patients who do that?
Extracted root cavitation should be filled with bone graft to avoid bone resorption. This should be added to protocols. Rest of the video is well explained & informative.
Use cheaper biomass my dentist call it bioplug which only cost $37 in US TX to avoid any bone grafting. Since I'm a healthy person, my bone actually overgrown covering the implant in 3 months time. 😂 My dentist have to drill away the bone to find my implant for abutememt stage.
As long as my insurance covers the procedures, I’ll do the things! However, I had a root canal done very back bottom left about 2.5 months ago. For infected. I had him remove it. Graph done. No antibiotics, and I’ve been okay. Healing well. Felt a little icky.
Khanum. Dentist here. Aferin for going to all that trouble for a simple extraction but I fear you must charge a LOT to cover your overhead. That is very expensive equipment and materials!
This sounds interesting but I'm not sure I understood what happens after you remove the tooth and disinfect the inside. Do you put a cap on it of some sort or does the bone regenerate to fill in the opening?
No. You have to make a bridge between the two adjoining teeth. Or ..implant , which is not suggested in biological dentistry. This whole procedure is very expensive and especially in disneyland. There are some non reactive implants but not in the US>
just extract any dead teeth.. you dont keep any limb on the body that dies.. it will pull the rest of the body with it.. root canals are no different.. just pull the tooth out and let it heal.. if you care about your health more than your looks
Teeth are much more than "looks". They have a super important function. Many people with root canals are doing ok. You can't just extract teeth. And the aesthetics is a big issue, even if you are not unnecessarily vain. You can't walk around with teeth missing in your mouth without consequences for your self confidence and how you are being perceived
All she talks about gives me the impression this is rich people options. If my insurance doesn’t cover it, I can’t do it. Folks, you start pulling teeth out, your teeth will move around. You won’t cure properly. Implants are a flippin fortune and if you can avoid bridges? You Might want to.
My root canal is 13 years old. It’s still healthy. Just make sure it’s done by an endo and it’s crowned immediately. Also floss around the margins. I also use fluoride to avoid decay. No more cavities for me since then. I learned my lesson after paying for that all out of pocket 😅

Many years ago I turned down several root canals and told the I only wanted a crown, one was very infected so I had to sign a waiver. Well here it is 20+ years and i have the same crowns without any problem. I have a smaller brokken tooth and first thing out of the dentists mouth is root canal then crown. I told her no way to a root canal and she said well we'll look at it and maybe have to pull it. I said fine, no root canal, right now it is a crappy patch she threw on it to stop the sharp edges that took 5 minutes without any drilling or anestesia and she charged my medicare insurance (not much of an insurance) $179 for a 5 minute patch.

Just more ways to get money. Once the tooth is removed, the body will heal itself (of course, bone graft would help: everything else is money grab tactics)
@@DeepDivingDiva333 A necrotic hand or foot would be removed for good reason by other medical branches. Same as with root canal treatment is with periimplantitis. I hope I have the same luck as you. I have an insurance that like to make money said I need root canal before crown. Going for a second opinion.
It would be different if the one or more of the tooth's canals had infection. It would need to be cleaned out and then rebuilt.
Thank you for explaining this in detail. I want a dentist like you.
I love this...the problem is that its very expensive and most insurance companies do not cover it. 😭😭😭

Generally how much did you spend for your procedure. Please share . It will be very helpful
