If you have engine failure will this gyrocopter autorotate like a helicopter. Looks like a excellent machine would be cool if you could have a four seater with some luggage room and be able to fly it as a commuter or to the cottage as well as tourism.
Since the rotor is unpowered (except the prerotator function before takeoff), it's always in a sort of free autorotation. If the rotor hits something and breaks then the autodecease feature kicks in.
jack spratt They don’t crash all the time and if there is a problem it’s probably half operator error. If your judging crash’s on UA-cam then consider it like the media showing isolated incidents to get a narrative across
GyroGerald I believe pound for pound, the auto gyro would be faster, especially if it can take it up to 180km/h Much lighter then a helicopter and most helicopters don’t fly that much faster. How much CAD for let’s say a mid range auto gyro? Cheers
