I am around 70 hours in and like the game so far. Great atmosphere, murder stuff with a two handed chainsword, lots of story, lore and choices. Felt right at home after i played rogue trader before. More fun than diablo 4 for me, but that is not saying much:P
Maybe we could have a 40K game where you play as Eldar (Craftworld, Drukhari, Harlequin, whatever), playing into a fast-paced gameplay style. And the main Chaos enemies could be Slaanesh Daemons. Both because Eldar and Slaanesh have a long history as adversaries, and because Slaanesh Daemons tend to be fast. So they're the equal and opposite counterparts to your Eldar character(s).
I‘m happy if you could enjoy it more than I could. It definitely has it‘s moments and it takes the lore super seriously, which I enjoy. I just had my problems with the gameplay.
I'm here because of the necro video, and I've even subscribed! Yay Anyways, you've got a good sense of humor and your animations are pretty funny. I hope the algorithm graces you with more attention. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go through your past of videos and give them all a like.
Both Martyr and Rogue Trader I liked. Had a lot of fun with both games. But you kind of forget choosing a different class COMPLETELY changes your gameplay. Next stop Space Marines II.
Yeah the classes all completely change the game. And i have to admit, i enjoyed the one I played in this video the most... But I also am super exited for SM2!
I’ve been loving “Rogue Trader”! Such a good CRPG. I only wish it had the budget of a “Baldur’s Gate 3”! Just started “Inquisitor: Martyr” and it’s enjoyable. I generally prefer Souls-like ARPG’s but I’m having a blast with it. (Playing as a Battle Sister!)
I can understand a lot of the criticisms of this game. I think it plays clunky and is super obscure about all its systems (tbh nerf flamethrower or bring other weapons on par). That said, at some point I was bored and tried to play this into the endgame and took a more in-depth look at the game, which opened my eyes quite a lot and some of your criticisms will be alleviated in the later levels. The crafting and especially the "Psalm Doctrine" System is super unique and allows for quite some interesting builds. You basically can socket your items later on, and by socketing the right combinations of psalm codes you unlock some "hidden" powers (just look the combinations up cause nobody will get the right thing through experimenting) which will buff you alot or give you some extra mechanics for specific attacks/playstyles. You can also fiddle with your healing thing to have it last longer, or use items which give a chance to get charges on kill etc.. But I agree it lacks polish, which is such a bummer cause when you look closer, it's actually a slightly dirty and rough diamond. Also, the "crusades" which is the endgame "mapping" system with lots of loot in the end, not bad at all for an arpg. Its just a bit clunky (some classes more then others) and obscure with a little bit of a need for balancing of the weapons. But I think its a little bit underrated, cause many people never see the good and interesting ideas of the game.
@@dall1786 Not using Tarot Cards and the Empyrean Seals, huh? You should look into full-completing void crusades. Chuck an empyrean seal of the type you need in there and your chances are better than most games of this genre. But maybe this genre is just not for you in general. Also try crafting.
@@commander_fu6457 I've played this game since the launch and it still has the fundamental problem of a sword being better than a gun in the game not to mention once you get to about level 80 to 85 you will crawl through the last 10 to 15 levels. I'm guessing you enjoy spending 20 minutes on a single map? A map should take no longer than 4 to 5 minutes at Max to clear out in this genre.
@@dall1786 Why do you play the game so much then, when you obviously don't like it? I mean yes it has balancing issues between weapons, especially flamer weapons are way too OP imho. But you can still make other weapons work just fine. Most of these games are about grinding and min-maxing in the end, and popular ones are just the same. Look at PoE, you seldom plan for 90+ levels with a character. Endgame does not mean being level 100 at all, same in Inquisitor Martyr. In PoE you even lose hours worth of experience grind if you die in softcore. This game is very forgiving. And I never need 20 minutes per map. You seem to like more casual friendly games, thats fair. And there are some out there for sure. As I said, the game is very hard to get into with all those obfuscated stats but when you get there its fun for many people. Not every game is made for everyone though, and that is normal. Why shit on something others enjoy only because you don't? You come across like you think that your preference should be what others prefer as well.
Being a minion build player, I had a lot of fun with the toaster-[lover]. Flooding an area with assault droids has a "well-oiled machine" kind of charm to it. The crusader clicked with me after I maxed out the Flame tree, painted his armor green, and played "Fortunate Son" for background music. In the end, though... yeah, there's not enough mission variety to keep the game fresh. With every character, I'd get to around level 30 and then just stop playing for a year.
Yeah it kinda makes me sad as well because I really wanted to like this. I definitely have to try out the minion build of the tech priest for another necromancer video.
Yeah, it's a hot take from him. Most crpgs aren't very compelling. Inquisitor just puts the classic crpg mechanics into 40k. It works and is as fun as any of them when it's not crashing or disconnecting. I feel the same about chaos gate, classic mechanics in 40k and it works. It's not special, but better than alot of AAA entries of the last decade.
As far as 40k goes, I've enjoyed Inquisitor an awful lot. Darktide very much let me down. Spacehulk is up there and same with Space Marine. I liked D4 and like Warhammer even more so Inquisitor was perfect for me. It could be more challenging though.
I‘m happy you can enjoy the game! It definitely has a lot that‘s good about it. Darktide also was a big letdown at launch. But ever since the class rework a few weeks ago, I actually have been enjoying the game an awful lot again!
