Fantastic info. Just added a Garmin graph to the bow of my boat and found your channel while looking for tips to find crappie with it.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Just what I was looking for about marking waypoints. Also goes to show your skill at using just 2D during the video to teach others what to look for. Nice work.
All I been looking for is how to fish with the 2 d sonar and this was the video. Most of the videos show what it is, what to look for, but not live action. Thanks a bunch. Seem pretty time consuming to really dial it in. I would love yeti be taught to use one in person. Lol
TY for the lesson, it is very appreciated!
Another very informative video. These are very help to those that don't have EVERYTHING like others. Thank you. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks, this makes understanding what you are looking at much easier to use and understand.
Glad it helped
Thanks for a VERY useful and informative video on using 2D from a fellow Wisconsinite. I’m definitely learning how to better target crappie on Shawano Lake
Great video ☺️ thanks for all of the tips and tricks
Thanks
Great information!!
Thanks was informative.
Thanks for the video, I have the old helix5 GPS Si, So guess I have a lot more reading to do before I can return to waypoints for my unit.
Thank you for being responsive!!!! Your videos help me in my journey to be able to MARK AND CATCH more crappie. I had requested this video while watching the 2D sonar video but I actually have Helix 10, but the same principle applies. Are you actually dropping an anchor when you are fishing, as I don't see you having issues staying on your spot, which is another problem that I must overcome. Again, thanks for these very informative videos.
Dude been following ya for a bit , thanks for the vids man very informative and entertaining . You know what would be nice to see tou use something I feel most of us have , the smaller units, I have a garmin striker 4 plus. Would be nice to see tou use and review one.
Never knew you could target and watch your jig like that in 2D.
Davis another great job......really did good explanation.... thanks brother 👍
Thanks
Thanks buddy for a great video and a lot of great info
One thing to add on the Garmin units when trying to go back to a marked waypoint is the map spinning. There is a setting to stop it from doing that but can`t remember right now on how to do it. Maybe you can add this to a future video.
Thanks, I'll make sure to include that info in the next video
@@FloppingCrappie Thanks! Very educational and informative videos. Keep em coming.
awesome
Hi FC, At 1:34 you use the "Mark" button in tandem with the crosshairs. When you use the "Mark" button doesn't it show you where the boat is rather than where the crosshairs are? At 1:30 aren't you supposed to use that tear drop at the top right to make the mark be at the crosshairs instead of the boat? When using 2D sonar I'm guessing it may be about the same difference since you're probably marking when you pass right over the waypoint. I wanna be sure I'm doing it correctly. Thanks for the great videos.
Nice videos but I am looking at some help at finding fish at the end of August/beginning of September as I just purchased a boat and need to fill the freezer....can you make a video for this time of year?
Ya, I can film a video about that
@@FloppingCrappie Cool! Thanks! Do you come to vilas/oneida counties ever?
Would you have done as good if you stayed back and threw your jig with a bobber setup?
It would have been a little more difficult to stay out top of the school that way. So I don't think I would have done as well.
If your going to do a video on SI maybe you should understand how it works first. If you’ve got your range @ 40ft and your in 20ft of water, your actual range is only 20ft to each side of the boat. The water column is the all black which is straight down.
This video was on 2d sonar, but you're correct on the side imaging information.
The a scope isn’t clear at all. How can you tell what’s what on that? How would you get that clear? Looks like a mess
Hi Davis, gotta a question for you. I mark a decent spot and throw out a buoy, I do not have a trolling motor and I could go upwind and drop anchor and play out anchor rope back to buoy. How far would you go from buoy before dropping anchor in order to not scare the fish? Not far from ya in Burnett. Thanks from a loyal subscriber.
I would just make sure the anchor rope is at a 45° angle. It's very difficult to stay quiet around a brush pile when dropping an anchor, but if the school does get spooked, I will return within 10 minutes. So you may just have to wait it out.
Trolling motor interference???
That could be it as well
How to nark and find waypoint with 2D sonar ?????????????
