    If instant refund is applied when cancelled flight .new fight is double to get home, deal you booked cheap removed with refund. Airlines win

    Pretty sad there needs to be a law to make companies give refunds for services Not rendered. This should’ve been a given.

      You simply cannot legislate morality.
      The fact that the DOT thinks that they have the power to create laws out of thin air is equally troubling.
      If it effects the airlines bottom line (and this does), then the airlines will fight it. They will pay off the appropriate crooks in Washington, and these proposed rules will be forgotten.
      Can you tell it is an Election year yet?
