Been deep into the 11s with that carter pump with 3/8 tank unit and fuel line, joe whatch the pressure on the pump had the 6.5 max carter on mine that was putting out 8.5 psi. Had to regulate , also those accell wires with porslin boots are the ticket. Great job on motor.
Thanks brother! I remember you had mentioned the boots in the past. I’m not sure these headers will work in the truck for him. They’re b body headers. It may take a custom set.
Got sent over here by Bondo Billy and I sure do love seeing a mechanic what knows what they're doing but maybe forgets a minor thing every once in awhile, like we all do. ZAP.

Excellent! These are my old run stand headers. Not sure if they’ll work in the truck. He may need something custom. Definitely needs a larger tube, like 2”.
@@JustMoparJoe it's a cool project. And either way. If you had the headers wraped the 1st few inches you could keep them and a set of wires together for breaking in engines
Sounds good Joe. I myself get a little nervous when starting for the first time after rebuild. It’s got a nice lick to it. I just started my 440-6. Just like you it sounded great. I am running a 484 purple shaft Mopar Performance cam. I have a set of hooker strip headers but bit the Bullitt and put the stock 70 exhaust manifolds on. It too hits a mean lick. My oil pressure is 100 lbs. I too wish it was lower. I have a Milodon 7 qt. oil pan and Melling high volume pump. I used the pump from my old 440 with about 10000 miles on it. The new high volume pump I primed with would push 125 + lbs. of oil pressure. This old pump always ran about 75-80 after warm up. So it should be fine🤞.
Sounds great, Joe.. One thing I have to say, All those people who give others and you, shit for wearing ear plugs and eye protection are simply fools. Don't give them a second thought. I was a machinist mate in the Navy. I ran steam engines, generators, pumps and evaporators as well as a host of electric motors. I have spent most of my adult life with tinnitus. (Ringing in the ears). I wore all the proper, (for the time), ear plugs as well as ear muffs. (Mickey Mouse Ears). Did it all the way I was taught. Still, I have tinnitus 24/7 and it makes me crazy. So even when you think you have done all you can, you can still end up hurt, and those who think that will NEVER HAPPEN TO THEM, have some ringing hell coming to them...... Keep wearing all the right protection, Joe. Tinnitus is HELL!!!!!! Literally, P.O.W.'s were tortured with the same kind of sound I hear non stop!! Don't let it happen, my friend...

This one seemed 👍🏼. The one I bought for the 406 dyno session was Junk out of the box. The front accelerator pump wouldn’t work. After investigating, the body of the carb wasn’t drilled to allow the gas to flow through! It was warranteed and they fixed it. It came back with a bog. Front pump was way out of adjustment. The other complaints I knew of was that a buddy’s carb wasn’t tapped in the center for the carb stud. It’s possible that you have a good one, or that it has some issues! Good luck 🫡
I can’t remember the brand. It was some type of ethanol stable stuff from eBay. They usually sell a kit with fittings and so many feet of line for 1/3 of what it is buying separately
