I won't lie this genuinely looks like it does justice to the Scripture which is insanely epic! I just hope they stay true to who David was, and that he was a man of deep faith and in pursuit of God's own heart. If you miss that you simply won't nail him.

@@caffeinatednation8885 David is one of the few characters whose appearance the Bible describes and it clearly says he was redheaded, which this actor is not. But, for the rest, I hope that this work does not ignore the theological aspects, which are always underestimated or distorted in these productions. But the truth is that unbelieving people always tend to put their own ideas into so-called "biblical" productions, as we have seen in recent years in films like Exodus: Gods And Kings and Noah

We do not know how tall Goliath was in reality. People have guessed like theorists for centuries. I love the view of Goliath being a figure similar to the excavated remains of 12+ foot men. Most modern retelling tilt towards the 7 feet model. Others use older commentary regarding a 9 foot tall Goliath. I want to see a true giant defeated by a diminutive person amongst a nobodys in ancient history.

So David sent Uriah with a letter directing the commander to place Uriah in the front line in battle, He died there.

The sons of Seth followed God & then went down from the mountain, then intermingled with the women of sinful families and had children who were "mighty, shaking ones". That is what the true translations say, and the concept of them being bred from angels mixed with humans is a disgusting lie. The Israelites were a hardy folk, generally standing at five-foot-something at the time. Goliath was likely six or seven feet tall. May God rebuke everyone who continues to preach the falsehood, and the number of them who also simultaneously & conveniently spew the lie that we can enter prayer under the influence of marijuana instead of entering prayer sober like the scripture states.

So 😊 Purely from the perspective of world literature, the David saga is one of the most energetic, exciting, yet heart-rending narratives in the Bible. It is at least as great an epic ss the Fall of Troy in the Iliad. It is like a Shakespearen tragedy. Or a modern day drama like Dune with House Atreides vs. the Harkonens. So just on the basis of literary value, the rise and fall of David is top notch. And of course for Jews and Christiana it is no mere story, but it really happened, foreshadowing the greatest story to come, the story of the Messiah.

David's story is a long one with a lot to it, including numerous flaws David himself possesed. This is one of the stories Ive wanted to see adapted into a true epic since I was a kid.

About time. David was the most interesting character in the entire Bible. And we need the lesson of standing up to bullies like Goliath more than turning the other cheek like Jesus and getting crucified by your enemies. Don't forget to include: the Dagon worshipers getting tumors for stealing the ark, the ark killing a large group of people for looking into it, the ark killing a man who tried to prevent it's fall, David dancing shirtless "like some vulgar exhibitionist", David's son raping his sister, all those guys who died from getting stabbed in the groin, David and Joab killing all the males in Edom, and God allowing Satan to kill thousands of people over a census.

@@FaithfulHorrorhound clothing alone is a dead giveaway, Goliath wore a “coat of copper mail of overlapping scales” (not nearly as small as what’s represented in the trailer). He was six cubits and a span (9.5 feet), this trailer clearly overdramatizes it, he’s easily closer to twelve feet. Also, Saul being the king of Israel would be wearing purple garments as was the custom of royalty. And you already mentioned two others that feel seemingly significant if what you’re trying to capture is the authentic message of the story of one of God’s greatest servants.
