"Texas is a world all of its own. It takes a lifetime to drive from Eastland to Van Horn" - lines from the Little Feat song "Those Feat'll Steer Ya Wrong Sometimes"
My girlfriend and I had a very pre-nuptial tryst in that motel across the street from where you are charging your phone. 40 miles away from where I lived in an effort to evade detection from her family was the idea. We would go to Cd. Juarez for an elegant meal and cruise the Mexican side and cross back home @ Ft. Hancock, where you are in this video. We've been married for 29 yrs. and have a beautiful daughter. Goes to show you, people live beautiful lives in what may seem like desolate places. I love the desert. I love El Paso and Hudspeth counties.
Very interesting video. I have heard about the Prada Marfa art exhibit before. The locks on the fence are called "Love Locks". I lived in the city of Ottawa, Canada where the Corktown Bridge is covered in them.
Man I’ve never hitched in Texas but I imagine it’s really hard to get a ride especially out of the cities because people are so anti homeless these days. When I’d hitch from the southwest back to the southeastern region where I’m from, I’d always make sure my ride would get me all the way out of Texas before I jumped in. New Mexico and Arizona were always the easiest states for me hitchhiking. I had the weirdest hitch experience around las cruces and into this town called truth or consequences. I live in Austin now and when I look at the exits it just seems like I’d die there before someone would pick me up. The only place I ever got truly stuck was in a town called desert Palm Springs. I’m damn near middle aged now and all that feels like a lifetime together but watching you reminds me of how much better I felt traveling versus working a full time job and paying out the ass to just be in a home. Had I never became a father I’d still be out there and probably run into you.
In the late 90's my car broke down on the highway in the late evening so I started walking toward home and a cop stopped me and told me I couldn't walk on the side of the highway and made me get off.. Didn't offer me a ride anywhere lol good times! 😅
I had an experience in Nee Mexico where the law is the same there: I’d been riding with this guy for a few hours and found out he rain out of a mechanics shop without paying his bill. That’s how we got pulled over. I asked the cop if I could just go since I wasn’t part of the legal issue and they wouldn’t let me because it’s illegal to leave someone on the highway there. I had to ride 2 hours back with that lunatic. The cops escorted us like how they escort funeral traffic with one up front and one behind us. When we got to the mechanics spot the mechanic was drunk. You can’t press charges while drunk in NM so they just had to drop the whole thing. I ended up riding with the guy all the way to Arizona. My next ride was on the back of a Ducati with this old hippie. Right before he dropped me off in downtown Tucson he stopped under this bridge to feed and play with a family of coyotes he’d somehow tamed. These aren’t even the most interesting points of my travels at the time. The road is magical. If you’re young I highly suggest just getting out there. Don’t sweat money or stuff. Just believer in yourself and others and you’re gonna be fine.
Hey Techno listen to your soul and nothing else. You have a great voice, if you are able to get a small amp and a microphone you will be set. Believe in yourself, trust your heart you can do anything you want as long as you put in the effort. So those days are having fear to entertain the masses get your ass out there and just do it. You feel such a rush afterwards. Just do it. If you ever get to the Syracuse NY area. I will hook you up. Love the content and thank you for that. Good luck.
Markus K a musician travels the world busking filming posting his videos on his UA-cam channel. He's been to war torn Ukraine showing how strong Ukrainian people are fighting for everyone's rights and freedoms
Some of those crooked bushes that are curled and very dry with yellow on the tips of the green growth are called Cheese something and they are very very old. Some that are 5 ft in diameter at the base are from 300 to 500 ys old. Some are thousands of years old.
Glad to see that you're finally on the move! Are you still going to get your CDL? You'll be able to see the country then! ...That one piece you picked up then threw down certainly looked like petrified wood - you probably could have sold that! It's crazy how much the stores in Arizona & New Mexico sell those smaller pieces for! You've gone many miles in this 33 minute video!
I was born in east Texas and have lived/visited many places in Texas. My son played football in college and played 2 times in alpine. In my opinion alpine is the most beautiful place in Texas. Especially from the bleachers! 😂
In an ancient river bed , only one way to have round river rocks , thats from bottom of a river . Wa side of columibia river has tons of river boulders wgen the gresy flooss carved out the columbis gorge🎉
Thank you for filming our country in real life time. Musician Markus K travels the world busking filming posting his videos on his UA-cam channel. He's been busking filming posting videos from war torn Ukraine. The world could use more traveling journalist showing the story behind the story of survival. Have a most wonderful day 🎉
You seem to be in better spirits these days. You also look more mentally sound inside your minds eye. Don't lose faith when you are feeling low. And remember that whatever energy you are experiencing is also picked up by others you interact with. So if you're feeling insecure then that's what you are going to get as in their insecurity about helping you. When you are unsure about yourself then others will choose not to be in that kind of energy . Hesitation and indecisiveness create the image of you being a wishy washy Luke warm kind of guy. Don't be that guy when approaching strangers. Being vulnerable and sharing personal doubts with a person at random times leaves that individual with doubts about you and can attract the complete opposite of what you need.
Hey sir. I’m pretty sure a church wouldn’t throw fit if you slept on their property somewhere It will probably be safer for you. Great video very interesting how you travel Glad you get them rides. Stay safe stay healthy
I'm a Virgo and always analyze in order to understand. So please don't be offended by my lengthy advice. I tend to repeat myself and that's something that was brought on by a stroke I had in 2015. Short term memory loss and word finding are my two most effected things about my brain function. So get plenty of sleep and keep on trucking. Take care!
Go to trucking school.set yourself up for the future.they pay for school, you drive thier truck, they repair it they buy fuel .you have a place to live and a job.its a win win.just do it ,commit bro succeed.
There is nothing more important getting to know if God exist, and if so why He created us. The best way to find out is through His Word, after all that is what it's for. It's hard to understand at first but it gets easier. Plus He promises to reward your effort with the faith that pleases Him . I can vouch for that it is the best thing I ever did! Read, Hebrews 11:6 and Romans 10:17 to start. God bless.
You need to be hoarding as much money as possible. The debt can wait. Instead or worrying about paying down debt, why don't you invest that money into some better gear to make your life on the road a little bit easier? I harp on gear because it will make things a little bit easier on you. You can get a complete USGI ACU rucksack for under a $100 on flea bay. It's has 80 liters of capacity, which should be enough to hold most if not all of your stuff. Then you won't have to carry around a duffel bag, and the other bags you're carrying. Get something to carry water as well, like a couple of canteens. Texas is hot AF, and you will dehydrate. It seems like your making things much harder on yourself. I don't know if you're just aimlessly wondering around or do you have a plan? You could find some day labor so you can get some extra cash. I hope you figure something out, and tbh, I'd give the train hopping another shot.
With shoestring passing I was thinking of you bro. Be safe out there people care. 💰 on the way.
I had to hitchhike out of Texas in 1972 on state highway, it was 6 hours before I got picked up by a farmer.
3,000 subscribers! I remember when you had 25 subs. You went from 50 to 1k with the first train hopping video.Good memories.
Outstanding filming man, this was enjoyable!

Of course, you're trying to go the other direction, lol
Ha , I agree Texas is a world of it's own
Some may call it “The ‘Empty’ Part of Texas”, but I usually refer to it as “The ‘Fucking Lame’ Part of Texas”.

Awesome video. 😎👍
State of Texas is Incredibly Huge Across it. I can Drive Across the State of Missouri in around 4 hours but going across Texas would take a Day. 🤔😬👍
Stay safe.
The hole looked like a gopher tortoise burrow.
The first rock you picked up was either flint or chert.
In an ancient river bed , only one way to have round river rocks , thats from bottom of a river . Wa side of columibia river has tons of river boulders wgen the gresy flooss carved out the columbis gorge🎉

You haven't lost your humanity for being positive to others. Everyday above ground is a good one is what I keep telling myself
I think that's the part of Texas that you would want to just ride a train through.
Word!..lol that's would I do as long as thiers the train goinh
Buy 5 cans of bean and bacon soup and 5 rolls of toilet paper…You’ll be fine…..that’s 5 meals for $5….
Good suggestion beans are high protein and bacon makes everything better,HA!!!
The bean and ham soups are yummy 🤤 I guess that's about the same as bean and bacon.
You should get an electric scooter or bike can get 50 miles on a charge or get a gas scooter seen them for about 800$
What kind of cats did you see that night?
Raccoons won't bother you nor will deer. I'd be worried about the cats if they are big

Shoestring's gone😢
You should get a pair of shoes, and sell them..enter the code!!!
Your best bet is to go to trucking school and get a regular paying job to sustain your life.
Who are you to tell that man with his best bet is??
Trucking companies are going down hill bc of the shortage of diesel price of diesel are rising as we speak that probably would be his worst bet 😭
If he WANTED a job, he'd HAVE a job!
You gotta be new here bud
@@DillonWalshMusicbro I don’t even make 100 figs you must be new to life😭
Are there snakes?
Marfa means witch in Spanish.
You have covid??o nooooo!!!
it's against the law to pick up hitchhikers in Texas. You should try and get a bike and wagon.
I can't believe how it can be against the law to give anyone a ride
Nobody listens and nobody cares and nobody knows nothing
You should just stay there for a couple of weeks.,hitch hiking there is illegal...
I don't understand how giving anyone a ride can be against the law
So you just walked up and stole electricity.
Let those without sin cast the first stone
It is illegal to hitchhike here though
I miss the days when you could hitchhike across the world
Truck driving is perfect for someone who is antisocial like yourself all you have to do is get yourself to an airport and they take care of the rest
