I currently play a custom Series 1 and I love it to death. If you would have played this track on a Series bass, it would have certainly mind blowing.

Hi there, sorry for my late reaction. It's and Edwin van Huik Signature bass from 1991. He's a great bassplayer from the Netherlands, and he own's a music store with beautifull basses like Alembic.

someday in this life im gonna own me an Alembic electric bass guitar dont know how but i will! last i've fooled around with one was @ a small music shop named Rudys Music on 48th street 7th ave in NYC which is still there c.1979 which i fell in love with but still havent owed one yet only cause i've heard of Jaco's 1st solo album then sold my Gibson bicentennial '76 T-bird bass & purchased an American Fender P-bass fretless minus the fret markers & didnt know to play frettless lol true story.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this is a better version than the original. Not a knock on Stanley, of course he is still one of the best. But you have to wonder how much thought he put on the "Hot Fun" track (the original 1979 one). Probably not that much, especially when the same foundation was used to build this kickass 3-minute adventure into the funkness.
wow, fantastic playing man....I have a fodera VW classic but I've been thinking about selling it and getting an alembic and this really opened my eyes up.

I have played with many talented guys for over 30 years and I was totally impressed with your technique. You totally ROCK...umm..it would sound silly saying "wow you really jazz man!".
Really nice playing. I love the mix of finger style to slap in a song, i do it quite often. I own an custom Essence with the signature electronics and would love to know what your setup is to get that incredible tone.

Stanley is one of my favorite bassist of all time. But I must say your version and arrangement of Hot Fun is a bit more interesting, at least to me it is. Keep up the good work my man!
Hi Josef. Well, I can assure you that this model doesn't cost 10000. I didn't pay that for this bass, but I've bought it about 18 years ago.. Perhaps the value is increased in the past 18 years, then it's a lot better then shares :-) Off course it was still expensive though, but I've been playing this bass for 18 years now, and it never lets me down. EVH stands for Edwin van Huik (a very gifted bass player) from the Bassconnection, a store with wonderfull basses.
