New handle materials and lock types is exactly what Civivi should be exploring. Add a few higher end knife steels to bridge the gap to We Knife models and your good to go.
Compression lock?? The tab doesn't line up with the finger cut out, there's sharp corners left behind, the scale at the recess of the release is thin and digs into the hand... No thanks. Turn the compression lock into a button lock like the smock. Everyone else is perfecting the lock bar and button lock, and Spydies leaves the compression lock unrefined. It's not bad, it's just not great.
@squarebody4546 For me the less "omega springs" the better , had 3 Benchmade and all of them broke in the worst moment, good guarantee for the price but not my thing.... Button locks are great, I personally collect all the Elementums 2 button lock but it isn't reliable or strong as a compression lock (with button or tab). Once the Benchmade patent was free everyone was going crazy for the cross bar, idk, they aren't reliable for me.
@@jkn2kRespectfully, I own many BMs, haven't broken a spring yet. The design feature that is inherent to the crossbar lock is pulling the blade closed much earlier than the tiny detent of a liner lock, (or compression lock). I've never failed a lock on a high quality knife, but at the same time advocate the right tool for the job, and always defer to a fixed blade for abusive tasks. I own many Spyderco, including CL models, but find the CB mechanism a superior design and user experience. To each his own!
I love my Baby Banter 2. Like the crossbar. I got the purple one. Added to Banter family.
Love the blurple
Boom!!! ❤️ Them!!
