This video reminds me of staying up late to see 120 Minutes on MTV to see my favorite bands, and then dragging my butt into work Monday morning on only 4 hours' sleep. But so worth it to hear music like this.
Earlier recordings were very easy on the ears! DB Recs. Early 80's catalogue is worth delving into. Reminds me of simple times with not a care in the world.
ZEITGEIST was my first college rock show in '83 in Norman, Ok. Moved to Austin in 86 and catching the tailwind of this era. Though, being involved in local HxC bands in ATX you'd support the locals that brought her ass down to Texas. Miss the Stick People, Doctors Mob, Zeitgeist-era Austin.
I saw this band several times in the early to mid 80's in Austin. They were known as Zeitgeist then. Really loved their music and still do. Awesome live band.
Around 1986, they played at a college campus in Beaumont, Texas...They were still Zeitgeist, and just had that first album out. The audience was me, and about ten close friends, smacked out of our minds on Ecstasy. And about forty other people, many of whom I vaguely knew, but I knew they were really, really cool, and I assumed most of them were high as well. Most of them were in bands. It was a life-changing experience. After the show, the only person we had the nerve to approach was Cindy. I wanted to tell John how much I liked his songs, but, what, am I gonna go up to Lou Reed and tell him that? Probably not. I always regretted that, because I don't think he would have cared.
@@jonathanlocke6404 I met John about 15 years ago at a gig he was playing. I told him I loved the music he created and even told him about how one of my old bands covered one of their songs. He was really happy to hear that.
As much as I dearly love this band, I would love to have remade this video. Between the weird slow-motion shots, the flashing lights, the smash-cuts, the whirling camera and the crazy zooming, you don't actually see very much.

Cindy Toth...I have loved you since 1985, and I always will...
Who's still here in 2020? I was in the midst of this as it happened. Austin was fucking amazing then. Even I got to play :) We all did.
Still my favorite band of all time
I lived in Austin in the summer of ‘89 and watched them live at Liberty Lunch. I bought all their records that summer. 🔥❤️

From the founder and bassist of Child Bearing Hips, true that. Stick People with Craig and Tanya and Malford and Thor were just amazing.
Thanks for posting this! Takes me back
Man, I freakin' LOVE this song. Thanks for uploading.

It holds up so much that I only heard it for the first time about two years ago, and I really love it.
Saw the Reivers in South Carolina (the other U.S.C.) in the 80s. Great show!
