This was the Korean TV music show titled 'SKETCH BOOK' in 2016. This episode was for PARK HYO SHIN. He sang his songs in the studio and it was broadcast nationally
throughout the Korea. (It is the reason that the stage was looked so small.)
PARK HYO SHIN debuted as a singer in 1999 when he was 19 years old. (He is a singer for 25 years.)
He was a good singersong writer. He made the song in 2014, including many hit- songs.
The pianist was not only his best friend but also talented composer working with PARK HYO SHIN many times.
His name is JUNG JAE-IL, who is the famous composer and also music director.
The major work is 'PARASITE' that was The Academy awarded.
Recently I watched this performance on a Korean channel. There were hundreds of comments, and I scrolled through them looking for anything that wasn't in Hangul. There was one English comment saying something generic about his great voice. I decided to go ahead and leave a comment, thinking maybe someone who spoke English would see it. I remarked on the stage setup, how alone he looked under a spotlight with the audience in the dark. Mostly I commented on how polite and respectful the audience was. They sat still on the edge of their seats and didn't even look away from PHS. Two days later I got a long response from a Korean woman who was in the audience while this was being recorded. She explained a lot to me. First, the seating was extremely limited--600 seats I think. Since PHS NEVER goes on TV, the demand for those seats was huge--thousands of people wanted those seats. Eventually they were given out by lottery. Naturally the audience felt extremely lucky to be there. Most importantly, she explained that this video is a recording of his fourth attempt to sing "Wildflower." The first three times he broke down completely and couldn't finish the song. Needless to say, the audience wanted him to succeed, and they were afraid to even breathe before he made it through to the end. Also, after three previous attempts he was completely immersed in the song by this point. That doesn't take away from what he did. It makes his accomplishment even more impressive. Lots of people would have given up, thinking it obviously wasn't to be on that particular day. PYS just soldiered on. And he never shut down any of his feelings; he used them in the performance. That's incredibly courageous. I think this song represents a traumatic time in his life, just a guess on my part, and this song's existence is a miracle. It's been covered by everybody. I challenge anyone to find a more frequently performed or covered song in Korea. I once counted how many times it was posted on UA-cam. I gave up when I got to 125 and it looked like I still had a long way to go. Thanks for loving him as much as I do.

The story behind PHS and this song is absolutely heart wrenching. When he was young at around 18 he debuted and immediately became a star. The agency he was with however, took advantage of him and never really paid him. This led him to cry a lot and not even be able to afford rent. At this point his best friend also passed away due to suicide. They also over worked him to the point of near death, and he also destroyed his vocal cords as well(2007).
He eventually decided to leave the agency but they sued him for $3m. Since he never got any money, he filed for bankruptcy and joined the army. This is where he wrote this song with his best friend(the pianist in this video). The wildflower is him and he is singing to "music", and about the relationship he had with his musical career. After he got out the the army, he released this song and now he's doing really well.
This song is the story of his hardships in life and finally bouncing back after everything he went through. The lyrics talk about how they(PHS and music) had good memories back then, how he felt that music abandoned him, and that he will eventually bloom and bounce back. PHS is considered one of the greatest singers in Korea if not the greatest, and is a legendary singer who is often called God Hyo Shin or "captain".

Park Hyo-shin's wild flower is literally his own story. Although he made his debut at the age of 19 and succeeded musically, he was very, very tired and tried to give up his beloved music by adults who wanted to use his talents. When I made the song, I was going to close the music because of my previous agency, and I made the song because I was frustrated, but I tried not to release it, and I was nervous after the release. It's been six years since its release, but it's still loved, and he didn't know it would be loved. He cried three to four hours in his studio knowing that he was loved greatly.This is an anecdote that Park Hyo-shin told in person at last year's concert. So when he sings that song, he cries, but the fans feel sad.
Most of the time he really becomes emotional everytime he sang this song.. This song is about his struggles in the past, about his previous agencies, he was bankrupt before and one of his closes friend committed suicide. He has struggled so much in the past but he keeps on moving forward, he is a strong, and precious person that's why he is well respected and loved in south korea also in some parts of the world.. You should check his other songs too.
kyuside박규편 I’m not sure that this song is about him and his own trouble. The words are too tender and don’t really make sense if written about yourself. Beautiful tomorrow has a few lines that also indicate a romantic subject. It seems to me that if you look at the history of same sex relationships in South Korea, especially around 2010 when Park Yong-ha took his life, I can see where someone who felt that he would never be able to express his love openly, might feel he had no option. In wildflower a few lines stick out, ‘from my fingertips every trace of you fades away’ it’s translated as ‘your scent’ in other versions... I think it’s Park Hyo Shin singing about Park Yong-ha when, if they eerie open about a relationship, it would have destroyed them. I think it was 2014 when PHS released Wildflower? He was in the middle of one toxic agency contract, had finished military service so although his life had been really tough it would have been nothing compared to the death of a friend, or lover. I believe that’s the only thing strong enough to cause someone to break down in front of an audience and not in a studio. It makes sense that the SK fan base read it as it’s about himself, it would be incredibly self centered if it was.. I don’t buy it myself but we’ll never know. Even now if PHS is gay and came out it would ruin him. Either way it’s unreal beautiful...utterly beautiful.
@@1fanboy576 his first agency failed him and his second agency overworked him and didn't know that his own concert is month away..he was diagnosed with Dysphonia (he's still suffering) he wanted to leave the company but they sued him $2~3Million..where is lost everything(upto this is sad enough) but his friend died too wth!..

The wildflower had difficulties to bloom during the winter but is waiting for the spring when he could bloom(in korean the it's future tense so it haven't bloomed yet)

Irene Khongsai IMO that’s one message but the words definitely support both. SK fan base is pretty toxic, but in the end it may not matter why he wrote it just that he did. It’s a gorgeous piece of art. Unless the possibility of the song, in part, referencing his feelings for Park is offensive?

When I heard Wildflower for the first-time I was totally freezed with a shopping cart in the supermarket aisle. Finally song was over and I could wake-up from the trance. It was one of the most magical moments of my life.💖💖💖
He wrote this song when he was in the military. He had been through so much in his life.....so I believe that this song is about his life. He actually cried while he sang this song in front of many people. He couldn't finish singing this emotional song.
Him and his pianist have produced this song for their friend that had died not long before the song was made.. that's why they're so passionate and crying..

If you ever wanted to see two people totally in sync look at the bit where PHS has to stop because he is fighting his tears. JJI just covers really gently. That is a fill in piece, he’s just waiting until he can hear Hyo Shin breathe to start singing. Then when PHS can continue he goes back to the song without a beat. It’s masterful.

It’s his own song which is about one of his best friends (a korean actor) who committed suicide years ago. Someone will tell u more detail I guess
His best friend Park Yong Ha he was famous actor and singer he committed suicide at his parent house 6/30/2010 without note. Still I remember Park Hyo Shin carried his coffin. Park Hyo Shin enlisted in mandatory military service on 12/21/2010. He was in military service he wrote this song. Pianist Jeong Jae-il composed this song he met Park Hyo Shin at military. Park Hyo Shin never explained about this song. Just my opinion this song for Park Yong Ha they were not just best friend Park Hyo Shin called him hyeong ( older brother in Korean). Sorry my English.

First, my request 4th Impact recently dropped a new cover of John Lennon's Imagine. they sing this in acapella for most of the song with just a little guitar in the middle. but it's not very long, and they finish the song once again with their four voices, and it is AMAZING to listen too! Now the news. 4th Impact has recently signed a recording contract with Bam International, for three albums over a five-year period.
