Thinking that Magolor Helper's ability to save you from bottomless pits will trivialise the Onion Ocean Fire Super Ability area that was so hard it required a montage in the first video.
Yeah but I wanna see this in the new post game
I watched the og
You have to JUMP to release from maglor
@@cendronhawk977no you don’t
Since it would be impossible (as far as I know) to complete Magolor Epilogue without jumping or hovering, I instead present a different challenge: beating the Magolor Epilogue without upgrading your abilities.
it might be possible if magolor's moveset is anything like in star allies
@@teamawesomeness7137
It is
If you upgrade it
The initial basic attack goes like, 3 inches
@@coleminer8847 it’s basically a melee attack unupgraded
That’s a great idea imma try that on a new file I’ll be back when I give up trying the final boss
Somebody already did that on youtube
There's actually a way to make Tornado a lot easier to use. It's not mentioned anywhere in the pause screen move list, but if you double tap B while in the middle of Tornado's main attack, you can cancel it early. I found this out by accident when mashing the button out of boredom.
Edit: Upon trying this again, it turns out you only need to press it ONCE during the attack, not twice.
Interesting.
@@CMeeCraftGaming Here’s a little lesson in Trickery: Mecha Ability is a combo of fire and plasma, and Sand is the best ability in the game as per damage.
You actually CAN gain infinite height with upward slash, it is just VERY precise, and it only sends you a little bit higher at a time. The only way I could consistently get it was by mashing B like a madman.
I tried a jumpless run when the demo came out, and I didn’t need any multiplayer. So it seems the only necessary multiplayer to prevent jumping is for the required Super Ability sections. (The gaps at the beginning can be gotten past with a precise dodge to the right.)
Yeah, it seems like he was gaining the _slightest_ amount of height. He even touched the ledge!
So technically you can, but it takes patience - and likely your fingers will hate you for it.
Or in the first stage you can go back to where it's higher and start upward slashing toward the ledge.
Funniest part is he did it a bit but then gave up, he was 2 more presses from getting it
I’m so glad I checked the comments because I was about to comment this XD
Gotta love how Sand, the ability that was seemingly forgotten, was used to beat the final boss.
A lot of platformers no jumping challenges often end up with the first jump tutorial ruining the whole thing, so I usually stick around til the end when someone comes up with something creative to surpass that, and you nailed it!
I love the return of the ability breakdowns! It feels great to have an assessment of an ability’s strengths and weaknesses right off the bat when we encounter them, especially for abilities like Sand and Water that otherwise don’t show up or aren’t particularly significant for most of the run. It makes them feel like another tool in the toolbox, albeit a particularly specialized one, instead of just a footnote to superior or just more generalized jump replacements like Fighter.
Great video, If I could do a challenge suggestion, a magolor epilogue with as little upgrades as possible could be interesting (as I don't think it's doable with no jumps)
You'd be right, it's not possible without jumping. There are ledges to scale and pits to cross in world 1, before you even unlock dashing.
oh hey I finished a no upgrade challenge a couple hours ago
@@dragonchicken5659 Given how the final boss went for me with farming, I'm not gonna believe that without video evidence.
the magolor epilogue IS possible without upgrades, there's a video on youtube
@@GigaOtomia ua-cam.com/video/8vl5VwgKACo/v-deo.html
I really appreciate the introduction to each new copy ability that you do in these videos! Each one immediately informs us about exactly what that ability can do even if we've never played the game / experimented with that ability, and I like the somewhat subtle touch of giving each one its own music. It really turns these videos from simply an explanation of how it was done to it being almost a puzzle that the audience can try to solve as we're coming along with the journey. I know it must take some time to edit those together just right, so I just wanted to let you know that the effort definitely doesn't go to waste!
Thank you. I'm glad it's appreciated.
@@CMeeCraftGaming Even as somebody who knows the abilities well, the analysis is enjoyable to watch.
I really enjoy your videos about Kirby games mainly because you don't try to add an extra "challenge" on top of the existing one like most UA-camrs do to make it seem more exciting. By definition, no jumping just means never pressing A when playing. This means literally anything else (such as calling in other players) is fair game and most effectively answers the question.
4:08 I'm so happy the original joke's still here, perfection
“Meet the best copy ability in the game, fighter”
Sand users after wiping out bosses in at most 3 minutes:
You make a decent argument.
I should have realized once a new kirby came was released this was gonna happen with all the other challenges I watched. As per usual, very enjoyable to watch.
The original no jumping challenge video on return to dreamland was the first video I saw and subscribed on. It’s quite nice to see the origins of when I first subscribed to this channel return.
I’m not complaining, but I kinda wished to see you utilize the fire wheel attack, or at least talk about it since it can climb up walls and move very fast, and using burning to bounce upward off a wall to get in mid air is a great way to activate it
Edit: I was wrong, using burning to bounce off a wall to use fire spin doesnt work, it will just activate burning a second time
It works in triple deluxe, don’t know why it changed
Fire has Infinite Flight now! Just cancel the dash attack with the jump button, and you'll explode early, allowing you to perform another dash attack immediately. Fire is now more viable as a jump replacement than in the original.
EDIT: Having checked the wiki, it was possible in Star Allies as well. So there's that.
Also possible in triple deluxe
Honestly you are now one of my favorite parts of a new kirby release
That 4 or 5 copy swap at the end was so cool, I loved it :D
Imagine this was just the KRtDR jumpless video in 4K lol
You actually can press A to stop Burn in mid air, so you can technically fly forever with it even without walls.
@Andrew Philemon Halim we're not supposed to use the move jump/hover, we can use A all we want for everything else
@sesuatu like Cannons.
@sesuatu like As far as I know the rules don’t prohibit a? Just using Jump/Hover, or pressing a to do a jump like thing (which pressing a with fire just cancels your move with an explosion..if you aren’t allowed to do that you could argue using fire at all would then be illegal as you auto do that upon hitting a wall so would it be like an auto jump?)
In the First Level you can actually run and then dodge at the edge to barely make it across the gaps. Its very hard to perform but it does work. From there you can go for a mix with the sword and the boomerang for spear. With the spear you can fly up and activate the switch in the next level.
Also at 10:50 you can dmg boost trough the spikes with whip.
I just realized this right now Mecha Kirby
Or you can just use the sword, no need to mix since the sword can actually clear it, you just gotta mash up b fast enough
My favorite part was when Mr. Dooter said," It's dooting time and dooted all over everything."
1:25 i actually tried playing the demo jumpless, and when i came here i found you can dodge spin across this gap... its extremely pixel perfect but it can be done... i never did it twice in a row but it can be done, that being said doing so gave me a new found respect for the effort you put into these challenges, i was about ready to pull my hair out getting past _here_ let alone the rest of the game, idk how you do it cmee, but hats off to you :)
TL:DR there _is_ a way to get past here in single player, but its not easy to do, and i now see how hard these challenges really are
11:57 “it’s just what the doctor ord”
I have a challenge! As I have seen that as soon as you start the level you can use multiplayer, I have thought of this challenge: You can beat "Kirby Return to Dream Land Deluxe" without using Kirby? The rules would be: never use Kirby "copy abilities". The only exceptions would be the "Super copy abilities"(or whatever it's called) when they are mandatory. (Sorry for my bad English, I’m Spanish and I love your videos ❤)
Such a nice throwback to a masterpiece video! Great Work!
Imagine if he used the script from the original video
That be funny
@@Krishavoc14 gotta agree
@@Krishavoc14 Meh
Very nice video, the edits and commentary on this were really clean!
dude this video gave me so much nostalgia from when i watched the first one of return to dreamland
Love how Fighter's Cons were Nutty Noon Stage 3 and Sleep Copy Abillity
you can cancel the burn move with a(NOT JUMPING) which is the EXACT same as hitting a wall, so back and forth going up is an option too
Great video, I hope you end up trying this challenge with the magolor epilogue, I think that’d be interesting to watch
The object art just keeps on getting better
I just got this on my recommend section, I was waiting for this 😤
The fact you used fire second and not first, shots fire at the anime, in which the first copy ability Kirby uses is fire.
Okay run & analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
I think that you could utilize mix in this run. In the first stage when sword gets introduced there is also cutter. You can block while bumping into them then eat them both at the same time to get any ability you want!
In the original game mix requires 3 enemies, do you think that would have changed? They can be 3 if the same enemy, but 2 might not be enough for this game
You can cross the first 2 gaps without needing a player 2. If you stand at the very edge of the ground right before the drop you can dodge roll to the other side without jumping, it’s very precise but it is possible.
In this version, they added some star allies and triple deluxe moves to the abilities. Meaning, if you really wanted to, you could hop on Dedede's back and Super Dedede Jump to the goal of nearly anything. You can still dodge to cancel it at it's peak, too.
Why use dedede when meta knight can easily fly? Sure the returning moves are cool, but I don’t think the are necessary
Obviously a lot of people are suggesting Magolor Epilogue without upgrading abilities, however I’d like to suggest a far more devious challenge. Magolor Epilogue with minimum Magic Points. That means no collecting them directly, no getting any combos, and while you would be forced to get SOME from just beating levels, it wouldn’t be enough to upgrade abilities very much, if you allow yourself to upgrade them at all.
It appears I underestimated the power of sand… great vid!
Edit: wow whip really got more a chance to shine in this run compared to the original RtDL
It was surprisingly effective and applicable.
You know... this may not be the video to post this, but it's fun to see a game where the concept of where jumping doesn't seemingly exist can be a great challenge!
This made me chuckle once my mind thought of Balan Wonderworld's lack of jumping on many of the costumes, whereas Kirby's ability movepools make this satisfying to see how far you go!
Forgive the long comment, just wanted to say I love this video and commitment behind it! ☺️
Fun fact: In Deluxe, fire has the added ability of pressing A during burn to stop the burn, halt your momentum and pop up a bit. It’s difficult to pull off consistently, but you can actually achieve a decent amount of height! Might’ve saved a bit of trouble in this challenge but it seemed pretty easy anyways
but pressing a outside of menus is against the rules
@@teamawesomeness7137 In onion ocean he was attacking with his water gun, so unless there’s another way to do that he did that so you can press a if it isn’t listed as “jump/hover”
@@GameWheelReal water gun is activated with the attack button
@@teamawesomeness7137 whoops. my bad 😂 i guess that’s why he didn’t acknowledge it
Lol I was thinking about this yesterday and now it’s here love the vid btw
I was waiting for this
You can use fire to gain infinite flight. If you press A while in mid-dash, it will cancel and knock you up a bit, which lets you activate another dash in mid-air. If you chain the button presses together you can gain infinite flight from completely flat ground
The sequel we didnt know we needed
16:41 “And finally we finish off the level with tornado, making GREAT use of its invincibility” *Gets hit*
I have an interesting idea for a rtdld challenge. Play through the main story (on a completed save file) with only ninja. You can’t jump, but you can wall jump. You can use down up to gain the smallest bit of height, to scale walls with wall jumping. I thought of this in the demo and the whole demo is possible with wall jumps only. (Not counting getting all the energy spheres and such.) you can use player two for super ability segments, but apart from that don’t use them.
The sword infinite jump still works it just seemingly has a smaller frame window
This is basically just a more streamlined version of the original game's video - By all means not a bad thing, since they're basically the same game, but also an excellent sign of how much your editing process has improved over the _4 years_ since that upload. (Although I'm very dissapointed you made no reference to the original game being the first Kirby No Jump video ever...)
Because no jumping would be torture for me, I decided that I was going to try to complete the main story 100% without hovering.
8:33 That was some great wordplay.
I didn’t see the JUMPS in the thumbnail and thought it was just NO
That key laugh never gets old
I like how you remade the opening shot for shot
4:50 Days late, but having just checked it, I have to mention it.
The Spin Slash can go airborne by holding up as you release the charge, whereupon you can control it left and right, like a weaker version of the Whip Tornado. This gives you enough height and distance to clear the gaps though, making it safer than chaining Upward Slashes.
I wonder how many jumps you need to clear magalor’s epilogue…
Wow, there are a lot of jump replacements in this game. The variety of choices made for a more interesting video.
If I'm honest I'd love a follow up [other than magolor minimum upgrade run] To see how many jumps it takes to get every energy sphere.
Gonna go play this with my homies later. Great timing.
I was watching all of your challenge videos when this was uploaded that's funny
Can you beat a Kirby game while Kirby is cribbled from an attack on the streets
4:09 yesssss!!!! THEY'RE BACK!!!!!!!
with fire, if you press jump button during the burn move, you can stop the burn move early, and you can get infinite height from it. the move was first in star allies lol.
That reminds me how my brain exploded, when I found out that people might spell “hi” instead of “high”
I just beat the normal story mode! I’m excited to start the Magolor epilogue when it’s not 3am
I discovered that you can gain infinite height/flight with sword by using upwards slash, it's just very, very, very slow, and pretty much frame perfect making it pretty impractical to use for this
Since you can actually perform a perfect sideways dodge across the initial gaps in Level 1, and you can go to Merry Magoland to get extra Copy Ability mix bubbles for free so you can swap to whatever ability you need at any time, I wonder if it's remotely possible to beat every stage in the game without Multiplayer.
1:27 you can actually skip this gap with the spin dodge
3:49 you can use the steps on the other side to collect enough hide for the sword up slash. It’s difficult but it’s possible.
Wow you're quick :O
Anyway hope it'll continue to the magolor epilouge!
I think someone at HAL watched your original video and thought that it would be really funny if they took away sword's infinite flight. It's not like it was game breaking or super exploitable, anyway.
during my playthrough of this game i was considering asking you to try this challenge but thought it would be impossible but very late into my playthrough i remembered that sword is good
Dang, new Kirby game and TV e first thing bro does is torture himself with insanely difficult challenges
My prediction before watching is it'll be possible, besides the jump and hover tutorials at the start
It’s interesting reading all of the comments talking about how this could of been done easier
now we just wait until he does the Magolor epilogue
Sand is coarse rought and irritaring and it gets everywhere...even on the high ground that you need to Go to progress!
11:33
You can press A during the burn to cancel it immediately. It’s like bouncing against a wall with nothing there.
A is the jump button so not valid
@@teamawesomeness7137 fair
It's easier to make the second player meta Knight, ride him and then FLY DURING THE ALL THE FUCKING GAME
This game brings back so much nostalgia ❤
Oh Yeah
Was interested to see if the remake was possible as to my knowledge the original return to dreamland was the only Kirby game you managed to beat jumpless
Love the Star Wars reference
Hasn’t it been like three days since the game was released? Bro is speedrunning
2:00 actually there’s a way easier way to pass this obstacle and likely future obstacles. Go play on Merry Magoland, get yourself the random copy ability capsule thing, and try rolling for an ability that has a jump replacement, like Sword or Fighter, or at least a way to get over the gap easily, like Tornado or Fire.
For the ledge in 1-2 I thought you were going to summon two extra kirbys lol
Magalor epilogue
Pretty sure sand wasn't in the wii... but nice to see that there are new things :)
It is new. Very fun to use against bosses.
I purpose making a video about a challenge about another style of challenge common in platformers, coinless, or starless. Think it would be fun on this game and I even am in the middle of attempting that challenge for star allies
The first jump tutorial can actually be dodge rolled over, it just takes some extremely tight spacing
Edit: also the hover tutorial can be rising slashed above by starting on the 1 block tall higher ledge on the left
It is something called mixing and restarting ten thousand times until you get spilled in fly over the whole level
10:16 that’s doesn’t even have anything to do with the challenge, that’s just 2D tornado
I liked how u changed the method
Nice job, especially since you never needed to use the copy power from magoland
Next, can you beat Magolor Epilogue without upgrades?
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe? More like Kirby's Return to Wheelchair Deluxe!
8:00 Bro really had to throw in this reference 😭
You can actually beat the first area without multiplayer, turns out a pixel perfect dodge can get through those gaps
great as always wonder if magolors section would be any interesting
