While visiting family in Michigan, we researched sacred spaces within the state and were surprised by the number of Bishop Baraga shrines and honoraria there were in the Upper Peninsula. Here we document the first church established by Father Baraga on Indian Lake near Manistique, Michigan and highlight the diary of Venerable Bishop Baraga.
