Solid tutorial, pretty helpful! I definitely appreciated how quickly you got into the action: a lot of channels waste a lot of time at the beginning with introductions and waffle, but you got right into it. Also nice that you prefaced the speeddrawing/examples with a few tips, that makes it easier to follow along with what you're doing when drawing.
This is one of the best cloud tutorials on UA-cam. Would love to see more about different types of clouds, like storm clouds like altocummulus and cirruscumulus clouds.
Awesome cloud tutorial Rachel. My favorite part was the intro explaining some common do's and don'ts. I am curious how light interacts internally with clouds to give them their shape. :)
Very informative and inspiring tutorial! The different versions you took really show the wide range of colors and shapes that can be used for clouds ;)
Dang you are good at giving tutorials. a little more details on the paint brushes used would have been nice, but there is the pause button, so not the end of the world. stunning FABULOUS artwork I absolutely loved watching this (>///
Great tut!! Best, most realistic looking clouds of any of the tutorials on UA-cam. Could you do a tutorial just doing one cloud shape, not sped up? I've watch this one at least 10 times and I'm still not getting your result.
The only brush I use is a chalky brush that I made myself, similar to the PS default chalk brushes. I like a brush that is somewhat textured and gritty when used lightly, but creamy and smooth when used with more pressure. Zedig on deviant art has some similar brushes that I highly recommend if you'd like to try something like that :)
Hmm... Do you have any ideas on tutorials for landscape drawings? I'm looking for references / ideas to use to draw various landscapes such as grassy fields, cliffs with stuff in the background, ruins on top of hills, etc that sort of "fantasy" or mysterious like landscapes. Everything that I've found so far seems to be too complex for a digital art beginner like me or just hard to find stuff.
Thank you for this tutorial, i have like nos basic techniques for drawing, i'm most of the time doing drawings by instincts, and i was a little stuck with clouds =/ Thanks to you i know more about how to go on about that.
I'm having so much trouble with clouds it's not even funny. I'm fine with grass barks and tree foilage now but those tree branches and cloud pattern just kills me I just don't know why
how do you blend your backround colors? i saw u started with blue then light blues and whites. im using krita but when i blended it with a blending brush it looked weird:(
i'm not social man..i just hanging aat home ..watching aniimes..drawing and playing piano ..i'm not good at anything...maybe a little bit aboout computers :)..i watch sky at night.. by the way can i send you friend request in fb ?
only first cloud was amazing and a little last one .. but i dont know why you paint clouds like they are a rain clouds... idk why you use to much dark colors for a clouds that is'nt for rain one..
4:24 the music and your voice dont need to compete for attention. tone that shit down other than some minor annoyances, this was a very simple and nice tutorial!
Please change the title to " Tips for painting clouds " Instead of " How to Paint Clouds " because these are tips and its not a tutorial, but please keep in mind that this is not a hate comment...

Zedig on deviant art has some similar brushes that I highly recommend if you'd like to try something like that :)
