    a home is not always consider an asset especially when bought on borrowed money.it bocomes a liability bec of interest expense,maintenance,taxes,insurance,fires,earthquakes etc how come it is considered a good debt?

    House is an Asset because you can resell it at a higher value in the future. Land is always a good investment. Rarely have land lost value.

    Asset is anything that puts money in your pocket...and anything that takes money out of your pocket is liabilities...house is not an asset, unless... you are renting it out and you are either even with your expenses or you have some cash flow. Another thing is... house is not your largest asset it's your largest liabilities...the bigger the house you own the more expenses you will have.

    Home is an asset,.. assets are economic resources. it doesn't need to generate income to be called asset(e.g. Land,buildings furniture and fixtures).. TG doesn't say home is a capital investment, you should expect earnings from it. I think TG uses home as an example because he is from BPI, and BPI offers home and car loan,...

    if YOUR HOME is an ASSET, so you should be earning from your HOME..
