I bought mine at the end of October last year and I've put about 1600km on it. I can confirm all you've said. It's the first motorcycle I've owned in 20 years (borrowed friends' here and there since). Kept it in B mode until last week when I felt it was time. Felt mostly docile in B, now I fear for my license haha! I'm surprised what a difference some throttle mapping can do. Still keeping it on TC2 for now. The thing's a beast in STD mode, I wonder what A is like? Love it so much,nI'll keep it for a while. Got a full Spark race exhaust on it and I'm eagerly waiting for my Öhlins NIX 30 cartridges and YA535 rear shock to come in. Total overkill for how I ride but sometimes you gotta treat yourself. E: 2016 60th anniversary edition. I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it, hence why I got it in late October in southern Ontario.
The motor is such a blast! I'm not crazy about the looks of this bike compared to other middleweight naked bikes like the Monster, but man oh man it's fun to ride.
Did I say it made more power? If so, sorry! I probably meant to say it makes more power (in the same period of time) as the other modes. In other words, better performance, though not necessarily greater peak power. Just better and quicker responsiveness and performance. Yamaha mechanic is correct, hope that clears it up!
Thanks man! Youve answered all of my questions I had for this bike. I’m honestly comparing the Honda cb 1000R with the xsr900 and after watching this video I’m leaning towards the xsr, but HOW IS THE RELIABILITY OF THE YAMAHA XSR900?
A, standard and B mode all have same power. The modes change the throttle ratio only. Also they are partial ride by wire. The throttle is still a traditional cable pull burnt he cable go to a servo. From there it becomes a ride by wire. Other than that you are correct. Excellent motor. I love my cp3 engine
@YouMotorcycle Good bike review but a cemetery is a sacred place for people, not a bike testing ground. Great bike reviews require finding the right places to test them.
I think different cultures see cemeteries differently. Right now I'm on my balcony looking into the cemetery and I see 3 kids riding their bicycles through it, a woman (parent presumably), a dog walker with two dogs, and a few minutes ago four cyclists came flying by. In my father's home town in the old country the cemetery is OUTSIDE of the town and kept behind a closed gate that is very seldomly opened. Very different places with very different views.
Great video man. I plan on buying one. I want a fast but unique bike. I don’t want a ninja or generic “sports” bike. I already have a cruiser so this is a great second bike.
You're kind of making my point. You've mentioned one bike which is the exception, which sort of shows just how rare that is, and just how commonly the rule applies to so many others.
Didn't mean it is as an ill intended critique. Just to point out that a bike in the same segment like the XSR has a 4-cylinder power plant which is super strong down low (Z900 RS). These days only smaller 4-cylinders are weak down low, 900s and anything above has crazy pull (depending on the tune and sprockets, Z100SX, Versys, MT10...).
Because I live in the most densely populated city in my country, with only gridlike roads, no curves, nowhere to lean the bike, and only stop and go traffic. So I rode anywhere else it would just be a video of the back of the bumper of the car in front of me, as we all sit in gridlock. Why does this upset you?
My place backs onto the cemetery. I see dog walkers, joggers, kids running, people pushing strollers, teenagers skipping school, everything, every day. Green space is at a premium in the biggest city in the country.

Love this. Way to go!
I had mine in B mode for 10 minutes. I upgraded from the R3. It's easy to ride, just have to respect it.

youre 100% right about triple cylinder

Does the 2021 have cruice control?
I don't think so. Google would know for sure
I love the way triples sound.
It's an all-round great motorcycle in so many different ways
I'm told by a Yamaha mechanic that 'A' mode doesn't produce more power..... It gives greater and quicker throttle response.
Did I say it made more power? If so, sorry! I probably meant to say it makes more power (in the same period of time) as the other modes. A motorcycle review in a cemetery. That’s a first!
Oh you must not be familiar with my work 😂
Thanks man! Youve answered all of my questions I had for this bike. I’m honestly comparing the Honda cb 1000R with the xsr900 and after watching this video I’m leaning towards the xsr, but HOW IS THE RELIABILITY OF THE YAMAHA XSR900?
Happy to help. Those are two completely different bikes. Have not heard any issues with XSR reliability, but I don't know anything about the CBR.
I'm in the same spot as you, looking at cb1000 and this xsr, but more i look at xsr in loving it more and more. Did you decided at the end?
dude its a Yamaha.... its reliable..
I went for both this year. The 2022 version of the XSR is even better, and the CB1000r is awesome too.
Got my xsr 900 😎
Love it. They're awesome machines. Too much fun!
Its feels more heavy then mt07 , but more sporty and a loot faster✊🔥
The CP3 motor is just so much fun!

I oversimplified, but you're right, thanks for taking the time to point that out! :)
Why are you riding through a cemetery? What's wrong with a normal street.
I live in the most densely populated city in the country. A normal street would be half the speed, with stops every block, or more often than that.
YouMotorcycle Freaky test ride in a boneyard
It's my dream bike. I need no reasons to buy it. I just wish I could afford it 😪
Time to start the EpicAdams Only Fans page bud!
I pay 195 a month for mine
I love that people keep liking that lol
Same. I just bought one!!
My favorite bike but im 5'8 and i like my feet to be planted wish the seat was 3 inches lower
A 1" lowering link would get your feet flat on the ground!
What year is this?
I think they're all unchanged so far. Believe it's a 2017 but can't remember.

This is true. Sorta like how in House of Cards Frank’s wife was jogging through a cemetery and got called out for it.

This is comfy like a cruiser, but manic as fuck lol
I agree with what @MrFurley said. Ergonomics are great but wow what a hoot.
@@YouMotorcycle Damn right. Even the Yamaha mechanic Was talking about how fun they are to ride
Not true of the CB1000r in the clip. Very good low RPM power and mad over 8000 rpm!
What do you mean?
You obviously never tried Kawis 4-cylinder which they have in the Z900. That thing pulls through the whole rev range.
You're kind of making my point. You've mentioned one bike which is the exception, which sort of shows just how rare that is, and just how commonly the rule applies to so many others.

Wow Ganda yan sir talagang big bike na yan. Ingat sir sa ride God bless you.
Thanks, you as well!
I love mine!
I believe you. Sick bikes. Such a blast. I have the brushed aluminum rear seat cowl for sale if you want to buy one lol
Man, you couldn't find anywhere else to ride??
Not on a bike that I'm just quickly testing before returning to my customer!
Bring yours over and we can ride someplace nicer!
Where the fuck is this guy riding?
Toronto Canada
Why are you riding in a freaking cemetery damn

I dig the fact that you drove through a graveyard 🧛🏻
The city of the dead
They are my neighbors. They're always quiet lol
