I totally agree with Bjørn about the engine sounds 😅 Much of the time I would probably switch it off but sometimes I would definitely enjoy having the option and it also has the effect of alerting passengers to acceleration and apparently thereby reducing motion sickness for some people
Hey Bjørn, I recognized that you don't use Car Scanner. I tried it today with the Profile of the Volvo EX 30 and it worked. At least you can see SOC, temperature and voltages.
I love your "new" approach to the videos, they are really worth while watching. And subscriber count and video views seem to suggest other people agree with me. Keep up the good work Björn!
i calculated that, if i were to do long distance trips to visit family members it's cheaper for me to just buy the ionity passport instead of using my EnBW charging card, since i have to charge more than 50kW which would make them equal in terms of price.
have you tried charging at a Nio charger? With 4NOK pr kwh it should be cheaper, but will it charge as fast as the other chargers, just out of curiosity (we don't have nio chargers here in Bergen)
I think every EV should have this engine sound that you can turn on if you like. It's easy software feature and engine sound when you just driving for fun makes drive more fun but if you dont like it i can't see any reason why wouldn't it be possible to turn it off.
That helps with people who are transitioning from meat to vegan. It's easier to transition when you love bacon and you know there is a vegan bacon alternative.@@semsainars
It doesn't work that way by defaut, it has to be activated, driving the car in Confort mode is as silent as a Rolls Royce, even at 120 km/h. I bought one this exact same color 3 weeks ago.
This car has no business being so damn heavy. Same weight as a Model Y when it is significantly smaller with a smaller battery. Ridiculous consumption. Long way to go for Smart.
This nonsense with putting combustion engine sounds on EVs is stupid. Is like 100 years ago when automobiles were replacing horse carriages, for car makers to have horse manure smell inside cars, because the peasants were used with that smell and the horn to be the horse noises. Literally 100% this is what making vroom vroom noise on EV. If they make noises, then it should be user accessible and be able to put any mp3 you want, just like phone ringtone. If you wish you make your car make noises, then you should be able to select the desired noise.
All these people in the comments tryna ruin the fun of a completely innocent feature by being all “grown up” is just outright pathetic. Turning into those annoying vegans
OK, but Bjorn should have made it perfectly clear that this sound doesn 't work by default, it has to be activated. The default driving mode is Confort and without the fake sound. I own a car this exact model and color.
Engine sounds on an EV makes no sense whatsoever. Imagine if you would do the reverse and give petrol heads a fossil car with space ship sounds 👾 ... that wouldnt go well. Fake features hardly ever make sense, with a few exceptions perhaps 😅
Great. So it does not bother you, if you CAN turn it off. Or probably NOT turning on. I'd rather have it and not use it than not have it. Doesn't hurt. It's funny. Bjorn's reaction should tell you everything you need to know.

I wonder why EVERY EV reviewer never mentions that all of the data that is transmitted from these wholly or partially Chinese Communist Party owned manufacturers is shared with the CCP by law. Why is that? Every reviewer praises MG (Chinese), Volvo (Chinese), Polestar (Chinese), Brabus (part-owned by the CCP) and other CCP part-owned brands and NEVER mention that your data is handed over to the CCP for any use that they want. It isn’t a race thing. It is a government harvesting of your data thing. It is allowed by Chinese law. Also, there is a big difference between your data going to a single private entity vs. the CCP .

Hi Bjørn, I prefer a quiet EV🤣🤣🤣Best regards Martin
Hehe dont worry the sound can he turned off too
I would like 100:s of different sounds from old steam engines to V8 to formula 1 to spaceships etc. Randomly selected every new day... =)
Hey Bjørn, I recognized that you don't use Car Scanner. I tried it today with the Profile of the Volvo EX 30 and it worked. At least you can see SOC, temperature and voltages.
Are you using iPhone or android? I tried on my EX30 with iPhone and had no luck connecting

Hi Bjorn, will you do a video about the BYD seal please! Im considering getting it but i want real range numbers haha, many thanks keep it up!
Let's Go! Autobahn! 😂 Thanks, Bjorn, you made my day!
I love the Sound. But only if I have the option to turn it off 😂
Hi Bjorn. I just ordered the smart #3 premium. Will you test this version? 😊 thank you. 🙏 very much into your content by the way! 😅
Will the sound induce higher consumption?
Do not need the fake engine sound, but more _importantly_ , does it have a whoppee cushion sound for the seats like other _premium_ EVs?
Looks like the seatbelt buckle is shaped as the Brabus logo nice detail. :)
I feel like they should go all in on the obsolete engine noises and make it sound like a steam train. It isn't any sillier if you think about it.
It should neigh like a horse.
nice, testin non Brabus versions in part #3 would be nice as claim 55 km more
I have been driving an EV since 2020 (M3, MY), my wife now can't stand the noise of an ICE
I love it! All the ICE emotions you will ever need.
10:49 in Germany the price per kWh is still 0,49€
Sound is like a typical performance 4-cylinder, before they got turbocharged. Sounds better than any diesel anytime.
i calculated that, if i were to do long distance trips to visit family members it's cheaper for me to just buy the ionity passport instead of using my EnBW charging card, since i have to charge more than 50kW which would make them equal in terms of price.
Super sound and brilliant 😊 !!
So it seems it's also external sound. Or was that only the mandatory sound below 30 km/h?
Internal only.
Hi Bjorn, hello from Singapore!. Great video as usual. One personal question if i may. Is Issabelle learning Norwegian?
have you tried charging at a Nio charger? With 4NOK pr kwh it should be cheaper, but will it charge as fast as the other chargers, just out of curiosity (we don't have nio chargers here in Bergen)
ICE sound in an EV is like a phone dial on a smartphone.
With my old Ionity contract i only pay 1,99 NOK / kWh in Norway
Thank for the video! I whish you consider to make text or voice over when the microphone is dead, please! 🤗
i like this car :)
The fake engine sound is ridiculous. I mean have you ever seen a T-Ford with fake horse clatter of hoofs?
Tack!👍 this calls "SINGEL"!😆 Samma ord på svenska
This sound is brilliant ONLY if it's easily disableable.
Correction. It's brilliant that it's off in cruise control :)
I think every EV should have this engine sound that you can turn on if you like. It's easy software feature and engine sound when you just driving for fun makes drive more fun but if you dont like it i can't see any reason why wouldn't it be possible to turn it off.
If it's get people to drive EV's I don't care about that sound. But why has it to be on the outside as well and disturb other people?
Ask Porsche. They have it on outside.
It would be fun to have that for 2 min then it would be to much , i like it quiet and that sounds trigger a heavey right foot 😝
Why do you need a fossil car sound in the car? Guys don’t stay in the past, with fossil feelings, no sound is the better sound!
For the first few weeks it might be interesting or something for them, then they will grow up and they can switch it off 😊
Indeed…. The car already removed itself from my potential future cars list. Can not be more stupid then this.
Yeah, it's like vegan bacon.
I am for eating more veg but why do you need try(and fail) to make it look and taste like meat.
That helps with people who are transitioning from meat to vegan. It's easier to transition when you love bacon and you know there is a vegan bacon alternative.@@semsainars
Tie Fighter sounds would be awesome
Hello, the price in France of Tesla terminal and IE charge, approximately 0.30 euros For the parking lot, drainage pipe and drainage channel.
With that engine sound, there should be an option for fake exhaust pipes to make it complete 😅
Nah, I like the inside sound but there's no reason to inflict noise on people outside.
Stupidly brilliant.
Sahara 😂 cute. So let’s check if daddy has a meeting with this Affalterbach thing tonight. 50/50 chance.
I wonder if the mic problems are from Isabel playing with the mic all the time 😂
*Isabel
Nope
The sound is brilliant 👍👍👍
Brilliantly stupid that is.
It’s a brabus afterall
Sound is stupid
I'll bet the Brabus engine sound is also external... Bjørns mic just failed in the cold 😅
That sound 🙉 It's stupid.
❤❤❤

the noise isn’t just stupid, it’s idiotic.
It doesn't work that way by defaut, it has to be activated, driving the car in Confort mode is as silent as a Rolls Royce, even at 120 km/h. I bought one this exact same color 3 weeks ago.

If it helps to get those petrol heads to go electric, why not 🙄
Are they embarrassed to sound like an EV?
Totally pointless fossil sounds on a very nice EV.
