Awesome run. I bought a camshaft from a FS 30 for mine. I've read the better timing and greater valve lift will improve the power. Really have to get it running, it fits perfectly.
    Greatings from Germany

I haven't flown in over 3 years.. I just recently bought a Dave Patrick Ultimate bipe at the West coast AMA show.. It was in need of a tail repair.. Repairs have been made.. I'm dropping a Saito 150 in it.. Wish me luck! Great vid Dave!

Wow,runs so nice after tuning it! Is there much difference between tuning an engine just starting up,versus an engine that has been running and up to temp.,or does it matter much?

It is better to tune it after it has warmed up a bit. That sort of interferes with making a consistent non-stop video though. So many of the things I do are for the sake of video making and not actual application.

hi dave, do you ever fly any of these lovely engines? regards alan.

A valid question. The short answer is no, I do not fly anymore. This channel and the videos you see here take up all of my free hobby time. There are many reasons why I no longer fly but this is all I am going to share.

dave, understand where you are coming from! I started flying & collecting engines from the age of 9 I am now 59 where did all those years go then! just cant stop the habit of watching engines that I have or used over the years, my wife thinks it's a bad habit, but I say it could be a lot worse!!! I try to blame people like you and blaz & Robert Petrinčič!!!!! so please keep it up! take care my friend.

ive read in a few forums that guys added 3% acetone and the fuel ran like 5% nitro for FAI, ever hear or try this?

I have heard but will never try. There are other comments on the original video discussing that.

My .20 runs ok on FAI fuel but the carb tunes better on 5%

Yes the tuning range for many engines, if not all, is much narrower on FAI fuel. For this reason some people could easily become frustrated while testing this type of fuel. It can take a keen ear, tachometer, some fine adjustments, and a bit of patience. But in the end, if the cost of nitro makes standard fuel too expensive for many people to deal with FAI is still a valid fuel. Methanol and oil are fairly easy to obtain. Since I have a considerable amount of this on hand now, I will be rationing my nitro content fuel a bit more. My LHS is reducing the number of nitro blends they sell and the price continues to increase for the rest of what they do sell.
