Emmrich is best written companion, and if you romance him as a Mourn Watch, you connect with him far more than with other companions. Mourn Watch romance Emmrich is one of the best romances Bioware has written of alll their games.
Yuppp I romanced Lucanis my first playthrough and loved it and I’m romancing Emmrich for my second one and everything he says makes my jaw drop. Love them both!
2:08:00 there's a hilarious comic where Lucanis takes down enemies, Emmrich revives them. Lucanis is like "?? HEY" and Emmrich is going "Oh! My apologies, force of habit." and it kills me every time and makes me think of Lucanis's comment here about it being "a waste of hard work" lmaooo like he put the effort into killing those people STOP BRINGING THEM BACK AGAIN >:C
I love Emmrich so much. My first playthrough was the Mourn Watch faction, and you get quite a bit of unique dialogue with him, including in this quest here where you walk in the gardens. It’s Emmrich and Mourn Watch Rook bonding and talking about their shared culture ♥️ loved his romance too, you won’t go wrong with this one if you choose him lol 👀
The murals in the music room!!! They're the same murals he painted on the walls of Skyhold. I think the codex is *totally* meant to be the Inquisitor; with a little vague leeway for something else, in case the player didn't have a friendly or romantic relationship with him. I think of the music room is Solas's "escape" room - where he can go to temporarily forget about everything and just enjoy music, wine, and happier times. These happier times include some of ancient Arlathan, via artifacts and some murals, as well as a *lot* of Inquisition memorabilia.
Yay you found the music room ❤ The miscellaneous codex is definitely worth a read every once in a while between missions. The game sometimes doesn't notify you getting new ones and they were some of my favorites to read! (This is me silently hoping for a codex reading episode haha)
This moment hit me so hard for some reason. I don’t fear dying as much as just there being nothing. Imagine dedicating your life to a job for something you fear knowing one day someone will perform a rite for your soul. This scene was so so impactful, full of sorrow but beautiful to me
Yuuuuuup. I had that conversation with Emmrich and immediately started a new playthrough as a Mourn Watcher because I wanted to romance him, lmao. He's so lovely~ And the memorial gardens is genuinely one of my favourite locations in any game ever. It's so beautiful. For real, I'd just go there to wander around between missions because I loved it so much. Lowkey kind of wished I could have decorated the Lighthouse more like this, lol.
The spirit that you can sell things to in the Crossroads has certain inventory that you can't get now that your Shadow Dragon merchant is gone. If you sell things to that wisp, you will increase your strength with the Shadow Dragons. I like to think this wisp is the spirit of Lorelei, the Shadow Dragon fence, still trying to help you even after what happened in Minrathous.
They updated it in the last patch to make it clearer that that's what it is. Before the patch you couldn't see the strength of the Crows or the Shadow Dragons when you entered the shop.
I just finished the game after 100+ hours and I'm even more excited to watch you play after I cried my eyes out. Thank you for creating a space for us to enjoy Veilguard. Time to start my second playthrough!

The dragon skull monument is the reward for beating ten fights at the Hall of Valor. You get it and a magic ring called Call of the Hall
