Dewalt Cordless Router DCW600 with battery pack and charger for $199, is it worth it???
I bought a Dewalt Battery Combo which included:
Dewalt 20v 4Ah Battery DCB240, 20v 6Ah Battery DCB206, Dewalt Charger DCB115 and a bag for $199! Dewalt was having a recent sale at Home Depot which they were offering free tools with purchase of Combo Kits. I choose to get the Dewalt Cordless Router. This video details the unboxing, what's included, brief description of the tool and its first use. Was it worth $199? Please let me know what you think about this tool or combo kit in the comments!

Best video for beginners. The Dude goes slowly explaining each step. The Dude would make a good teacher.
Thank you! I’m just a Dude.
*I absolutely love this tool!!! The first one was defective and Dewalt replaced **MyBest.Tools** More bulky than the Bosch and Makita corded palm routers I have but worth it. Nice solid base*
It is a great router! Ive used it countless time since this video was made. Thank you for the comment. Please like and subscribe.
I'm tough on my tools and this routers taken a beating. Worth every penny.
I totally agree! Thank you for the comment.
For the price you can not go wrong 👌
Now that you've had this router for a little while would you still recommend it and is the FLEX router rebrand of the DeWalt?
I still use this router and love it for smaller projects. Its very handy due to its compact size. The would definitely buy it again. I cant comment on any FLEX tool. Ive never used one.
Best review I have seen yet on this router. Dude his an excellent teacher and does his research before his presentation which is different than many other reviewers on this product. Thanks Dude.
Thats the an awesome review! Very much appreciated. Thank you. Glad I could help.
Good video, thanks.
I need yo use my neighbor's router like yours but lost the wrench. Can I use a small adjustable wrench to secure the tip and what size is the wrench to try to buy one?
Hello. Sorry for the late response. You can use an adjustable wrench to loosen and tighten the collet nut. I will post a replacement wrench link in the description tomorrow. Hope this helps. Thank you.
@@JustaDude123 Great, thanks
Thank you kind sir. This really helped me with my new router, because I had no clue how to put in the bit. I really appreciate your making this video 👍🏼
Glad I could help! Thank you for the comment, very much appreciated. Please like and subscribe.
Well done! I've watched quite a few reviews of this router and yours is the among the best.
Thank you! That’s very much appreciated. Glad I could help.
hello, is it possible to install Bosch cutters? or not?
Hello. Great question. As long as the router bits have a 1/4 inch shank, they should work.
You went the wrong way when you routed that pine it should be left to right not right to left
Haha yup. I have learned the error of my ways tho. Thank you!
@@JustaDude123 I couldn’t resist myself 😂
Haha. You are not alone! Thank you for the comment.
Its the way the router spins and cuts.
And when you put the bit into the the collett, after it hits bottom, I suggest you back it off a tiny bit before tightening with the wrench.
I don’t have any experience with routers, is the 1/4” round over the largest bit you can use? I got a 3/8 round over bit, but it doesn’t fit through the hole in the shoe. Thank you.
Great question. You can use larger router bits however, you have to either get a shoe with a larger hole in it or make the hole in the shoe larger. If you want to just purchase a shoe with a larger hole, stores like Rockler have them. Hope this answers your question.
Great explanation specifically when you do it up close. Thanks.
No problem. Glad I could help. Thank you for the comment!
Great Job explaining the router and how it works.
Thank you! Very much appreciated.
A question for anybody that knows.
Can I use a 3/4 round bit to make a sill round only 1/4 on both sides (top and bottom) by adjusting the depth or I must buy a new 1/4?
Please advise.
Great question. I dont know off hand. Ill go look at my router bit’s tomorrow and give you an answer. Again, I apologize for the late response. Thank you.
Awesome review, thank you! Plus, you are a good teacher 👍
Thank you very much! Glad I could help.
Awesome video. Purchased one today!
Great tool! I use it very often. Thank you!
I have been looking at this router for ages. My only concern is run time, can you tell me how long it lasts on a full charge on each battery?
Thanks.
Ive never had a battery die on me. That being said the batteries have a 3-LED fuel gauge system to where you can check how much is left in a battery. Ive also never used this router more than for an hour at a time. I dont have any complaints about this router though. Hope this helps.
@@JustaDude123 thanks it does help.
Well if it lasts at least an hour that will be perfect for me.
Great video for newbies like me. Thank you
Glad I could help. Thank you!
rockin roll dude
Good video straight to the point.
Keep it up
Thank you for the compliment. Trying too haha
Great deal on the router!!! I just picked one recently but I didn’t get the two battery deal.
Yeah, thats a good deal too though! The battery deal was only available if you went into the store.
Thanks for the video. Nice presentation!
Glad you liked it! Thank you for the comment and compliment.
when did you get that deal? i thought me paying $199 tool only with one free 5amp battery was a good deal.
The deal I received occurred about two weeks prior to the video being released. It was an awesome deal! The deal you received is good too!
Tried trim cutting a 2x4 with a round over and mine couldn't. What gives. And I have no experience with routers.
Great question but its very hard to see whats going on with a post. If you want to, send a video to my Instagram @matt_just_a_dude and Ill try to help you the best I can.
@@JustaDude123 appreciate it. But is this router designed to cut only really soft wood. Ike I thought I mentioned I tried 2 round 2x4 untreated. No dice.
I dont think its the router. Might be the bit or the depth setting of the bit.
@@JustaDude123 understood thanks. I can't send an Instagram b/c I've never used it. And I don't have any room on my phone. Yuck, but thanks.
No worries, phones fill up quick haha. I just think there is something wrong with the bit or the bit setting, not the router, unless the battery isnt charged enough. Just too many variables to say exactly what it is without a pic or something like that. Sorry I couldn’t help you more.
That was super helpful! Thank you!
Thank you! Glad I could help.
Damn. That is a good deal. They have the router and a free 5.0 battery right now. But you got a much better deal.
I saw it and couldn’t resist lol! Thank you
Where?
@@jhenrich18 Home Depot. You have to to to the store. They have a display where you buy a tool and get a free battery. It’s not on the sales ad, thou.
Very clear and well explained review. Many Thanks.
Glad I could help. Thank you!
Nice video
Thank you!
Nice!
Thank you!
Were you in the military? You showed how to field strip and reassemble the router as if it was an M4. 😅
Haha. I guess old habits die hard. I don’t remember doing it like that though, Ill have to watch it again. Thank you!
תודה רבה ! עזר לי מאד. קצר ולענין
👍👍
Thank you for watching!
I’ll stick with Makita, at least they don’t keep Chang the battery platforms.
For sure! Those are great tools too! They do make adaptors for the 20V to the 18v
Makita is giving an awesome
Deal on 36v circular saws right now!
First pass was wrong way.
Haha yes! Although you’re not the first to point that out. Thank you for the comment!
He’s pushing the router the wrong way 🤦🏻♂️
Haha yup. Out of everyone thats watched this, you’re the only one to point that out. I have learned the error of my ways tho. Thank you!
@@JustaDude123 easily done lol
Mine comes tomorrow aha you nearly made me not buy it with that blade squealing 😂
Haha. It does hum still when its moving in the right direction. I think I had it spinning wayyy too fast there as well. I had to slow it way down to make juice grooves without it burning the corners.
I'm not impressed by it. It should come with a dust port, edge guide, and a router bit for $199.00! 🙍🏾🤦🏾😱
That would be a great deal! Thank you for the comment
I think $199 for 2 batteries as well as charger and carrying bag is high but throw in the router and it’s an absolute steal.
$199 for all that gear is wonderful especially if you already have other Dewalt tools that use the same batteries and charger.
All in all I give it a 9/10.
Yeah, it was a great deal. They’re doing it again this year although, its only available online at my local Home Depot. Thanks again for the review!
