    Had this knife for years and used it and abused it. Never had a problem with the handle moving. I have heard some others have had this problem but, not mine. It’s still going strong 💪👍

    I managed to convex my Ontario RD Tanto. Took a bit of effort but it now cuts much much better. Thanks for giving me the idea.

      Its a lot easier if you have a belt grinder and a lot faster also. So doing on stones does take a fair bit of time to change the edge but, its worth it i think personally.

    Great Video , you can't beat the real life footage of actually using a knife out in the woods , I hate table top videos. Ive been thinking about buying the SP53 for years , I think Im finally going to pull the trigger , I have a few OKC Knives and I love them All , the Bank for Buck is practically UNBEATABLE , were else can you get a Choppa like that for $50 (on Amazon) , keep up the Great Work , you just got a New Subscriber.... 👍 🖖

      @@easygoingoutdoorse.g.o7342 I keep thinking or one, if one came out of your abusive treatment unscathed ( what these knifes should be built for) it would make my mind up.

      Once you know what you want from your knife and how you will use it, this should make your selection a lot easier and not to forget the big one. Your budget. If you are going to be hard on your blades, hopefully some of my videos can help you out with your decision.

    How do you sharpen the recurve ?

  • @tackleberryc6472
    @tackleberryc6472 Рік тому +1

    Why don't you use a lanyard ?
    If you dont mind me asking ?

    • @easygoingoutdoorse.g.o7342
      @easygoingoutdoorse.g.o7342  Рік тому

      Safety. Large blades with lanyards in them have a tendency to swing around and hit you on the body when attached by a lanyard if the come flying out your hands when doing prolonged chopping tasks hence no lanyards

      I'm not being funny but I haven't experienced that at all.
      How the lanyard is attached is crucial in my humble opinion.
      The risk...in my experience is glancing.
      If your lanyard is spot on there is little risk.

      @@easygoingoutdoorse.g.o7342 Their 5160 carbon steel is really super efficient (to me better than esee 1095 and bark river's cpm3v) with that blade shape and thickness make it a near perfect camp and survival knife. I would like so much that it is completely full tang and especially that Ontario corrects this problem of handle which moves after a certain time of use ...

      I feel the birds beak at the end of the handle could be slightly bigger as you can get some slippage when wearing gloves.
