    Fantastic tutorial! Super helpful. I'm getting more into green screen editing for some of my new video projects, and I was getting a little discouraged after spending hours trying to get my green screen setup to be absolutely perfect with no wrinkles, just the right amount of lighting, reducing shadows, and so on to make the editing process smoother, but this looks like a decent solution for if the original recording isn't absolutely immaculate. I'll have to give this method a try next. Thanks!

    I was having a lot of trouble with the chroma key because the subject was turning slightly transparent no matter what I did.
    I followed your tutorial and had similar issues but managed to figure out a solution. Going from about 13:40 instead of creating a new background greenscreen I made the bottom video the composite child of the top one, with composite mode of the top one on cut and sliding the levels slider on the left all the way over to 100% I managed to get a decent cutout of my subject. Tweaking FX settings of both videos gave me a decent result which I could really get any other way.
    I was basically just messing with settings so I'm not sure why this works but ya.
    If anyone else is having trouble with a similar issue I hope this helps, I'm on Vegas Pro 15 so things could be different if you're using a different version.

    can you rescale yourself with a green screen background? In your example you are "big" but if I want myself in a corner (like picture in picture) and with a background video. In your example I will not see a (full) background video because you are too big in this example. So I want to resize myself so you can see more of background video. Because shrinking makes that the green screen is not covering the full background anymore. Hope you understand my question.

    • @TechDiveAVCLUB

    Hi, I spent two or three hours on your green screen videos and couldn't get this to work. Instead of getting a solid white outline, everything was white except for my black glasses, my mouth and my nostrils. I just couldn't get them to disappear like your glasses and your mouth did. I tried all the level adjusters on all the different Fx elements one at a time and it just wouldn't work. Not sure what I did wrong. 😬

    • @TechDiveAVCLUB
      @TechDiveAVCLUB  2 роки тому

      That can happen. You can isolate different parts and combine them later. You can try to make just your glasses white layer it with your main one. Ill link a video

    Adam, I see that you recommend rendering out before applying the final key. Besides saving on processing power, how would this compare to employing this technique on a nested timeline and then applying the final key in the master project? Wouldn't you avoid losing a generation by eliminating the render? Or, am I missing some unintentional consequences that would result by using a nested timeline? Thanks in advance for your reply.

    • @TechDiveAVCLUB
      @TechDiveAVCLUB  3 роки тому

      Nested should work. It's mostly because i was making a canned green screen. Also, it's a good back since ny that point, you're project (nested or not) is getting a lot of layers which makes it easier to screw up

    Hi Adam, great video as always. I have some time now to edit my videos and I want to change the background in some. Months ago, maybe even a year ago, you sent me a video on how to do that with model trains. Like an idiot I didn't save it. You need to prepare your clip, explain all the mouse clicks and all the steps you did. By "preparing" I mean: Go through all the steps BEFORE you produce a video tutorial!!! I hope this helps you.
