- Many Catholics pine for the return of Gregorian chant, and for good reason. The chant of the Roman Rite represents the very voice of the Faith, a true prayer in song, one that can and should draw all generations of Catholics together in the Mass and all other liturgies of the Church.
Pray for me, I am studying to be a Roman Catholic Priest in the seminary in Fiji. This is my fourth year of studying.

... as a growing boy.. .. back in the '60's.. .. have served as alter server [alter boy] .. .. and we automatically learned all these Latin Hymns.. .. at Mass serving with our back to the congregation.. .. not knowing the meaning.. .. we used to catch the lyrics by sound.. .. and I'm proud to say to this day I can recall most of songs/Hymns.. .. oh !! I miss those days.. .. am proud of my departed parents who genuinely instilled in me and my siblings and brought us up in true Catholic faith.. .. I'm even to this day practicing Catholic of Indian origin.. .. from Mangalore, India.. .. known even today as ROME OF THE EAST.. .. may God bless us all ❤❤

33 years in traditional catholic i even let my son baptize in traditional catholic though we still visit nearby church and celebrate masses as much as our health is concern. Hope more faithful and more church celebrate TLM for the benefit of those who have no capacity to visit due to diffent reasons. Praying for more church to celebrate TLM 🙏🙏🙏
I get Mass once a month. On other Sundays, I watch Mass, readings from hymnal, find a sermon and listen to Catholic hymns.

They make me remember my childhood in the 1980’s ! And my father who used to take us to those masses ; we lost him this year ! I listen to them I am happy and sad (and cry at theesame time)

I wish I had been in the choir you were in. I was head chorister at my church I got to sing the Psalm every Sunday . But, Vatican 2 meant I had to use English. Latin chant has a mystical ness about it.
I belong from Bengal, India. And my grandmother when talking about her childhood(1940s) days used to tell me about how she used to attend masses every Sunday but understand nothing as everything used to be in Latin. It's her 83rd birthday next Saturday.

Those days, I was ten years old, served as an altar boy. I didn't know English. The hymns were printed in vernacular Tamil script. We used to memorise the songs and prayers. Without knowing the meaning of the prayers and songs in vernacular, we used to pray and sing aloud. Still I feel nothing equal to the Latin music, divine and penetrating deep into our hearts and souls.

During my youthful age in 1959 - 1964 I attended a Holy Mass in old church of Matalom Parish Church the priest is wearing black colored dress and the was in Latin I love and like it as a language of the Church in fact it is the official language in the Vatican and the Roman Empire I like Latin as a language during Masses because it is solemn, historic and godly I LOVE the conservative Latin language WE PRAY ALWAYS for our many blessings at our Black Nazarene Chapel, Matalom, Leyte GOD BLESS US ALL. - PRI❤❤❤JESUS
