This is by far the best video you’ve done. I love the way you used your footage to educate your preloaders. I’ve watched most of the other vloggers that attended and yours is by far the best and most informative. Thank you Robert!

Late October and watching 57. I thought I heard champ school and had to rewind to hear it again! Stopped 57 and went to school lol. Robert, thank you and thank you Champ U for sharing the experience with us. I know Wisconsin is a far stretch for you, but I'm all in for a day of slow motorcycle ops. if ever in the area. New old rider here with less than 3k experience but many hrs practicing the art of slow ops with street course instruction @ Road America and Champ U course and a MSF refresher all this year. Flying a 2008 wing. Back to 57 now, resume normal operations. KZ

The new models have me curious though.

Man, that had to be so much fun! The ST models aren't for me, simply because I'm older and like to experience different things now. But, back in the day I'm sure they would have appealed to me so much more. Trying to talk my Son into a Harley and this may be the thing that captures his attention. Thanks again Robert for all you do for us! "Keep it Loaded"!!

Outstanding video, as always, Robert. Happy for you that H-D honored you with the trip - well deserved! Footage was incredible (no other motovlogger utilizes or incorporates drone shots as masterfully as you), and you are a first-class gentleman for giving your compadres their props. My favorite part was when you weaved in your instruction with Nick's and Kyle's instruction on trailbraking, 100pts of grip, etc. You're right - you DO say the same, and the principles are as true on the rear brake as they are on the front. As an aside, I was at my dealership on Friday having new grips and mini floorboards installed and they had a new SG/ST next to a new SGS......I'd choose the SGS all day long.

Great video Robert. Kudos on video editing. I have a SGS with a 128 Big Bore kit, custom suspension, exhaust, tuner, clutch, dyno'd and all that. I was riding in Eastern Oklahoma in the mountain region and this Dodge double-cab Dually pulling a 18' horse trailer blew me away. I couldn't keep up with him. From decades of driving and riding, experience was telling me to back off just due to being more concerned of my safety in case that trailer got unhitched or catastrophic failure of him wrecking. That was my first time riding in the area and although he may know the roads like the back of his hand, he was pushing that rig to it's limits and beyond. That's a lot of weight to be throwing around in the corners especially trailering. He was not crossing the double line but he was burning up those brakes.

Excellent footage. Loved the classroom orientation. Great information and tips... especially on cornering, braking and when to brake and throttle. The cold tire theory was very interesting. I weave when i start riding just to get my bearings and balance in check. I see now that i was also doing myself a favor by warning up my tires. Loved your track footage too.... that music was the bomb!!!! I need to find that. Thank you so much for letting us travel with you on this trip. Glad your luggage made it to you, especially your Drone...yikes!!! We will have to check out that resort and track fees. That looks like it would be fun to ride. As you pointed out with your practice session clips, you are spot on with your slow speed maneuvers that can also translate to higher speeds. It's technique, how, when and how long. Being the BOSS!!!

great, great video... great explanation by the professional riders of braking into the corners, leaning, loading etc... I learned a lot ! I currently ride a street glide special, and with new bikes, I feel HD cheapened out in some areas that you already pointed out, and when you're paying top prices for a motorcycle you have certain expectations of bells and whistles, and the cheapening out just the sours the excitement of the new bikes and integrity of HD as a builder., in my opinion.
It looks like it was a great time and looks like HD treated you all 1st class !.. good for you my friend and glad you had lots of video footage to share with us.

I like that Harley is going this route, I might of considered getting one if I had not just bought a bike in 2020. I have a soft tail so maybe I will consider the ST models in a few years, than again getting a special and upgrading with new suspension, seat and a stage 2 or 3 might come out ahead in the long run. Your video I think has been the best at showing what all happened at this event, great information I learned a lot.

Awesome video Robert!! I was really surprised and appreciated the cornering lessons. When I was taught at Ford motor company's driving course (worked at the test track), we were told (like your pro driver mentioned, was taught by some) to brake before the turn, and not not brake in the turn. Their theory was not to put too much force/weight on the front of the vehicle, and possibly excessively over steer into the turn, and lose it. But the theory of braking into the turn to create a larger tire patch makes so much more sense (especially on a bike). Of course theory's change over time, and this was in 2006, and in a car (which I think your pro driver did mention it was a car theory as well). Regardless, I will have to rethink tight turns at speed. Of course using the proper amount of throttle along with modest braking is key, so the bike does not want to stand up.
I guess like all of the skills to improve on................you hafta PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!......................C'mon warm weather!!!!!!

Thank you, this is outstanding. Clearly, your style of teaching makes this very easy to understand. Questionn, with trail braking at what speed is this procedure employed. I am still not clear on when we are on and off the front brake in turn.

New subscriber. Creator myself, but not much on motorcycles. I just bought my first Harley. 2022 Road Glide standard, the higher end standard.
I dig that you’re into the Street but I just can’t get past that cyclops look. Wasn’t for me. But I wanted a bagger.
Back in the 90s I had a Virago for short time, got married to second wife and she made me get rid of it. (She didn’t last long after 😂). Here recently in last couple of years, my boss owns a plethora of cars and motorcycles (100s) and he let me ride one of his BigDogs, a 05 Mastiff whenever I wanted. So that got me back into wanting another bike.
I’m going to add a king pack when I make a little more money for my 3rd wife to ride with me. She has not road with me yet on it because it’s a lot more bike than that Virago or BigDog. And I’m just not comfortable with putting her on when I’m still trying to get use to that, almost 900lbs.
I stumbled across your channel about 4 days ago and have been binge watching all your videos 😂. I’m chomping at the bit, waiting till I get back home in Oklahoma to practice your technics. I’m currently in Miami doing a big job for the boss man. Probably be here over a month. While I’m here I’ll be pulling in about 100hrs a week meanwhile my bike back home is getting a ceramic coat. And after a couple paychecks I’ll get that king pack and definitely some bars. I think I’m going with 12” maybe. Stock bars make me slouch causing my back to hurt.
So sorry for the book. Just wanted to give you some background and let you know that you have a awesome channel and content.
Take it easy brother and keep creating.

Thanks Robert for sharing. Looks like it was loads of fun. The indoor training instruction was top notch. What speeds were you riding on the track? The tire warming and loading was very interesting. Did they say if the tire warming was as important for the avg riding speeds or mainly higher speeds when cornering? I'm sure it plays a huge factor in cold weather handling. Would like to know more about this topic. Thanks again!

One other question Robert. I see that you are a very positive individual. My question is I have a procedure coming up soon and I'm letting negative energy in. Would you please give me a trick to keeping it Positive, so I get the result I want and the pain is with in my limits.

It’s my pleasure. 😊 Good luck on whatever procedure you have coming up. There is no trick to thinking positively. It’s really a state of mind. I live my life optimistically, always able to find the silver lining in pretty much any situation. I will always have more things to be thankful for than not and I believe this is true with most people. It really depends on what we recognize as pros and what we recognize as cons. It’s very easy to focus on the negative, so we have to make a conscious effort to stack the positive against the negative. That works for me every time.

@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle Thanks for the quick reply. I’m really looking at the Road King Special because of the touring capabilities but w/o the weight from what I hear. I like the Street Glide Special but really for the music and infotainment. The Low Rider S is appealing because of the larger fuel tank, it’s lighter and has ability to put after market bags on it for touring. I do not like the Low Rider ST. Thanks in advance for your help. Once I buy one I will be using the teachings in your videos!

We all know these hot pushrod motor engines are on the way out in lieu of water cooled engines, full counter balancing, smoother shifting and ride modes. The overly labor intensive nature of Harley Davidson bikes keeps them on a lift more than on the road.

Robert, some of these concepts definitely change your way of riding. I mean, you are from the slow handling and John and his crew are about the fast riding. So I was looking namely at front brake vs rear brake; I have seen individuals online fighting about not using the rear brake and some not to use the front or not use it while cornering... It is all in context, different situations and different types of bikes work better with different controls. A pick ups truck generally won't go around the corner the same as NSX or a Porsche 911. You looked good out on the track, are you sure you don't want to give bagger racing a try? By the way, in British Columbia Canada, you have mountains that have snow year round.

@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle It is good to see Bagger style specific training, they handle way different than the sport style bikes that a lot of us come from and often end up getting trouble. Personally I came from motocross, to sportbike, to bagger, all motorcycles, but very different riding styles. I hope my post didn't come off as negative, not the point at all :) I know online, things can look one way and not what the writer intended. love your videos man, keep them coming, peace!!

Good afternoon, really enjoyed the footage. I'm always trying to learn from your channel with that being said I was under the impression to never use the front brakes on these bikes in turns but during this footage I heard just the opposite. I'm coming off a sportbike where I always used my front brakes and never used my rear brakes. If you will please provide some clarity for me on using the front brakes in a turn on these bikes. Thanks and keep the information coming I'm definitely paying attention..

    • @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
      @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle  2 роки тому +1

I’m happy you enjoyed it. The techniques that you applied on your sports bike are the same on any motorcycle because they operate the same in a turn. Your front brakes have the most stopping power and when applied properly, they will increase the contact patch of the front wheel which increases your grip. During slow speed maneuvers, rear brake only.
